Intelligent Design: Message from the Designers

The Raelian Movement is an interesting phenomenon. It is literally assumes Metaphysical Naturalism in its world view. It explicitly excludes belief in God and the supernatural and aims to apply scientific explanations as a basis for its worldview. This atheistic and naturalistic religion defies much of the "western" conception of religion because it makes a religion out of things usually perceived as non-religious (no Deity and no other supernatural entities). A good resource on other atheist and naturalist religions out there is "The Encyclopedic Sourcebook of UFO Religions" by James R. Lewis with other examples. Anyways, "Intelligent Design: Message from the Designers" is collection contains 3 foundational texts in one book which contains the direct transcript of the communications between the Elohim (the group of extraterrestrials from another planet that created humanity in a laboratory) and the prophet Rael (the author and the one who experienced contact with the extraterrestrials). The main extraterrestrial who speaks to Rael is named Yahweh and this collection contains the message that the Elohim wish humanity would hear. Yahweh instructed Rael, "You are the one who must gather people of all religions. For the movement you have created, the Raelian Movement, must be the religion of religions. I insist that it is indeed a religion, although an atheistic religion, as you have already understood." (173). As such Rael has been making an effort to communicate the message of the Elohim to all who would listen. The message seems to be simply that people should embrace the creators of humanity (the Elohim) because they want to reach out to us and be a part of our world. The Elohim are very scientific and are incredibly advanced, but humanity must advance more, be more open to them, and build an embassy in Israel for them to be able to reveal themselves openly and provide us with 25,000 years of advanced technology and science. One reason for their desire to reach out is because humanity was made in the image of the Elohim.

The 3 texts are quite complex in that they contain many ideas and concepts which, I think, many of the reviewers have not mentioned. I will get a few things that have been repeated by other reviewers out of the way: 1) Yes, you can find a free copy of this book at the Rael website and 2) Yes, this book provides an alternative to unguided Neo-Darwinian evolution and theistic creationism - it proposes that humanity was genetically engineered in a laboratory by technologically and scientifically advanced extraterrestrials who made humanity in their image. It is a teleological alternative with purpose and without God. However, how humanity was created is not the core focus of the collection or the message of the Elohim. There is much more to be found in the 3 texts in this collection.

I will provide some information that can be found in the three books:

Book 1: "The Book Which Tells The Truth"

This book documents the first encounter between the Elohim and Rael in 1973. The Elohim explain to Rael why they chose him and why they want him to be their ambassador on earth. The Elohim look exactly like us, but they can communicate telepathically. This is how they communicated with Rael in the first encounter. The Elohim explain that the Bible has many verses which speak of the Elohim. They review many verses from the Old Testament and the New Testament and they explain how many of the events in the Bible are really about them, not God. In fact, the Elohim argue that people in the past interpreted their actions as being divine because they were so technologically advanced that many had mistaken them to be Gods.

The Elohim in their home planet (which is about 1 light year away from Earth) decided to create life on Earth, but not all the Elohim were in agreement. One of the Elohim that was against the idea creating life on another planet was an extraterrestrial named Satan. Once humanity was created, humans began to develop their science too rapidly and some of the Elohim, out of fear that the creation might become too powerful; decided to kill off some of the humanity with nuclear weapons (the Flood), scatter humanity (Tower of Babel) and nuke those who wanted to get vengeance on the Elohim (Sodom and Gomorrah). The Elohim explain the purposes of Moses, Samson (as an example of someone who was able to use telepathy), Elijah, Satan, and many others. The Elohim explain verses Ezekiel which show that spaceships had been recorded in the Bible. One interesting thing to note is that some of the Elohim had procreated with humans and had produced some offspring - the Israelites. Because of this, the Israelites have a special place the eyes of the extraterrestrials as direct descendants of the Elohim. Jesus is explained as being a special messenger for the Elohim who did miracles with advanced technologies. He was killed, but was revived by the Elohim and taken away to their home planet. His purpose was to reach out to the whole world so that when the extraterrestrials returned in the future, people would not be fearful of them.

The Elohim want to help out humanity by providing them 25,000 years of advanced science and they want to appear to humanity, but since humans are not as advanced and peaceful yet, they feel threatened by us. Once a sufficient number of people on Earth embrace them, they will appear and provide us advanced technologies. The Elohim were created by other creators just like humans were created by the Elohim. This is an infinite cycle of creation on other planets. There are a few ideas which the Elohim desire to spread: "Geniocracy" - people should be governed by geniuses who can make the best decisions for humanity, humanity should have one currency and one language.

A few interesting facts on the Elohim and their planet are mentioned: the official language of their planet is similar to Hebrew, they live on average 10 time longer than humans, they can achieve eternal life by having their cells re-created by their advanced technology every time they die, they do not work in their planet since they have machines that do the work for them, they do not marry, they control their population size by limiting their offspring to two, they use contraceptives very often, they describe their culture and give a glimpse of what happens on their planet on an average day.

Book 2: "Extra-Terrestrials Took Me To Their Planet"

Rael writes about his early childhood and life. This book documents the second encounter between Rael. This occurred in 1975. Rael is lectured on how Earth needs to be more open and peaceful. Rael is take into the spaceship of the Elohim and taken to their planet. There he experiences servant robots that are so human like. Rael meets previous prophets who had brought the message before him such as Moses, Jesus, Muhammad, and Buddah. Yahweh, the Elohim who has been communicating the messages with Rael, expresses how Rael must establish an embassy in Israel for the Elohim to return to Earth. The "Keys" are guidelines about many phases in a person's life and social dimensions. One of the "Keys" is that when a believer dies, they should donate their body to science and keep only a bit of the forehead bone to have it be registered in a computer for when the Elohim judge us we can be re-created. Rael provides some guidelines on how to establish telepathic communication between humanity and the Elohim and emphasizes the power of meditation. The judgment day and the rewards for those who embrace the Elohim are discussed. The followers who are called the "Guides" are discussed.

Book 3: "Let's Welcome The Extra-Terrestrials"

This book is about frequently asked questions Rael receives from reporters. It contains many topics. Rael reveals new information that was concealed for a few years after the second encounter. Yahweh explains further on Satan. The truth of Rael's lineage is revealed - Yahweh is his father and he is also the father of Jesus. This means that Rael and Jesus are brothers! Yahweh discusses the upcoming nuclear cataclysm in context of the Book of Revelation. There is discourse on Raelianism as an atheist religion. Interestingly, there are testimonials by Guides on their experience as Raelians. Finally there are a few short and more recent encounters with the Elohim.

Overall, I liked this collection and was intrigued that Raelianism was a naturalistic (non-supernatural) religion. Recommended for those interested in learning about other religions.

I love how this book sheds light on Earth's history. Yahweh talks face-to-face with Claude Rael and we all benefit from this encounter. The International Raelian Movement is thriving and helping humanity.

Everyone on Earth should read this book

Intelligent Design: Message from the Designers... was very interesting reading... having had "foggy" recollections of early childhood typical "abuduction" scenario(s), studied the UFO realm for many yrs..and attended a few UFO "Conventions", seen an unexplained craft, etc., having spoken to Raelians on the phone, sent many E-msgs., etc., I've concluded they're very sincere, kind, and hopeful for a return of our "Creators"( Elohim) from other far reaches of the galaxy....Compare info. to Ex-Raelian web sites and books by former Raelians....and, as usual..it "remains to be seen"....all by faith...Science ?... and one's individual "inner voice" leading us onwards to Truth. Thier "Teaching" of non-existence of GOD is a big "pill" to swallow though...! Peace and Divine Love.....Namaste, Wayne

The term "Intelligent Design" was coined by creationists to suggest that certain attributes of living creatures and of the world we live in are best explained by the a direct influence or design, rather than by an undirected process such as natural selection. The author of this book uses this phrase as a description of his own belief, that an advanced race of extraterrestrials created life on earth. Whether the title change was made to call attention to a parallel, or simply to disguise the "aliens talked to me" vibe of the original title ("The Message Given to me by Extraterrestrials"), that is up to the reader to decide.

The author wrote three separate books that are aggregated in this volume.

He takes events from the bible and tries to explain them as visitations from aliens. As an example, he refers to Genesis 1:1: "In the beginning Elohim created Heaven and Earth." The author quotes a literal translation of Elohim from the Hebrew, "Those that came from the sky" and uses it as a plural word to describe a race of aliens. Thus, Elohim "the people" replaces the term "God" as far as this book is concerned. The author expands on this by saying, "they created the earth or, in reality, discovered the earth and realized it contained all that was necessary for life."

In the first book, the author puts forth some interesting alternate explanations for familiar Bible events, and remains fairly detached and scientific about his theories. I was intrigued by some of the things he wrote about, things that filled in many of the blanks I had about the Bible, myself. He presented the events recorded in the Bible as a history book by an ancient people that used the best local references they could to describe space men in space ships. Taken alone, one could read this book without the self-serving religious belief system suggested by the second and third books.

However, the second book (which Rael wrote some years later) goes deeply into extra-terrestrial visitations and communications, and outlines an entire cult/religion built around the Elohim, one that includes free love and wife swapping. When we get to the third book (again, written years later), Rael reveals that the Elohim artificially inseminated his mother, and he is the true brother of Jesus Christ and is here to fulfill Revelations "Second coming of Jesus Christ." Here we hit the paydirt of insanity and misplaced morals that characterize the latter editions of his work.

The belief system of "Raelians" (a self-applied name) is extensive and based around the idea that humanity must achieve peace in order to take the next step and connect with other alien races. There are many other things one can do to be truly worthy, including the time-honored practice of paying a tithe to the church. Rael frees himself from any taint in book two by stating that "his mission on earth is done" and that, "no matter what happens" and "no matter what Claude does," he has secured eternal life with the Elohim. This conveniently allows for the many sexual liaisons he encourages in his books.

Ultimately, this book is not for the reader who wishes an alternative view of the events in the Bible, or someone interested in possible alien origins for life on earth. This is a book for people interested in the Raelian movement or Raelian Church, as created by Claude Rael.

This book might change your entire belief system about humanity, the soul and God. It is somewhat Holy-Bible based, but is also a very left brain cloning book, almost scientific. Basic premise, the Biblical Elohim from a different planet are coming back to earth, sooner then later and plan to set up their landing base in the Middle East. They already have and earth organization set up.

This Raelian Movement book makes a lot of sense. If you believe that we have been misled and knew there was something more to the Christ consciousness movement, or Jesus' story, then this book is for you. Its a life changer. But one must have an open mind, and be willing to look deep inside to see it's truest message of truth...

There are 3 possible options for the origin of life:

A) Neo-Darwinism and Abiogenesis: A speculative theory, unproved yet, with many anomalies and struggling against the improbability barrier and the complexity, beauty and diversity of life.

B) Theist Intelligent Design: A supernatural explanation, the Almighty God, with mysterious abilities and it's contradictions. For those who believe in magic and sudden creation of something from nothing.

C) Atheist Intelligent Design : In a few years, it will be experimentally proved that Human Intelligence with sufficient knowledge of DNA and Genetic Engineering can create any form of life they wish.

This book expands on Option C), an atheist design by advanced Extra-terrestrials, and their revelations are so amazing, every human being on Earth should know them.

Very interesting read. You need to have an opened mind to read this book. I liked it. Is it true? I dunno but very compelling story.
