While answering a LEGO survey last year, the question was posed "What other themes would you like to see?". One of my answers was "Something like the Winter Village series, but for Hallowe'en".
LEGO was clearly listening, as they've come out with the Midnight Valley Collection, with 11383 Mayor Manor being the first set. It was a given that I bought this as soon as I could.
I'll note that 10228 Haunted House is one of my favourite sets. I build and tear it apart every year as part of my Hallowe'en display. I was hoping that Mayor Manor would give me a similar build experience but adapt it for a Winter Village style display.
Today's random set is 4702 The Final Challenge, released during 2001. It's one of 11 Harry Potter sets produced that year. It contains 60 pieces and 2 minifigs, and its retail price was US$10 / £8.99, which equates to about US$18 / £17 in today's money.

In addition to another more important anniversary, today marks the 25th anniversary of the commencement of George Herbert's tenure as the 8th Earl of Carnarvon. His father, the 7th Earl of Carnarvon, died of natural causes on 11 September 2001.
So today marks the 25th anniversary of when George Herbert inherited the ancestral home of the Earl of Carnarvon, Highclere Castle, widely recognised by fans from all around the world as the fictional ancestral home to the Earl of Grantham, Downton Abbey.

After an unexplained delay, 72154 Iconic Trainer Moments Poké Ball will finally hit shelves this October. Within this colossal Poké Ball are two important scenes that begin your journey as a Pokémon Trainer: the selection of your starter Pokémon, and the following first battle. Set in the universe of Pokémon FireRed and LeafGreen, your challenger, notorious rival, and the game’s secondary antagonist, Blue, is mysteriously replaced by a cheerful Picnicker.
If you’re familiar with my other reviews, you’ll know that I’m a big fan of tiny toys. Since this set is basically a Pokémon Double Takes Death Star or a giant Mighty Max-style playset shaped like a Poké Ball, I give it an 11/10. That’s it, review over!
In the early generations of Pokémon games, Red is the player’s character: a silent protagonist, and counterpart to Ash Ketchum in the original anime series. His legacy continues across the franchise, from appearing in other titles as a boss to challenge, being referenced through Easter Eggs, to starring in the four-part miniseries Pokémon Origins. This October, for the first time, Red will be realised as a minifigure in 72154 Iconic Trainer Moments Poké Ball.
Over the five years of LEGO’s up-scaled minifigures products, just two of the ten sets featured licenced characters. The line may have started with one of these sets, but arguably still depicted well-established minifigures. As a character, Red is well known across the world of Pokémon, but as a LEGO minifigure? Not so much.
