FROM THE EDITOR

What we're covering in 2026

Music coverage in 2026 is a different job than it was when this site started. The bands we pay attention to now move between streaming platforms, viral moments, festival circuits, and entertainment-industry shifts that didn't exist twenty years ago. Donewaiting's editorial scope reflects that.

We cover new music. We also cover the entertainment ecosystem around it: artist business decisions, the cities producing tomorrow's sounds, the cultural moments that the algorithm-driven music press tends to flatten. The editorial standards are unchanged: no round-ups, no clickbait, no engagement bait. Just the work.

The bylines on our current coverage: Christina Sarich on new releases and contemporary indie, Sam Petrosky on music history and regional scenes, and the writers whose work has appeared in these pages across two decades.
