Sorry I haven't blogged in forever. I have been enjoying my break from school and got sick over the holidays for about 2 weeks. Christmas was very casual this year, but I was ok with this. Right now I am back in school doing my student teaching in 3rd grade. I am loving every minute of it. This coming week I'll be the teacher the full week, but I have the best class so no worries. The only thing I worry about is teaching math. I have to go back to the days when I did this type of math. It has been good practice for me. Other than that things are going well and staying busy.
In other news I am obsessed with this all guy a cappella group. Last year they started a show called "The Sing-off." It's a competition with a cappella groups. If you win you get $100,000 and a record deal with Sony music. Not to bad. For the most part the groups were pretty good. However, the group I was voting for was "ON THE ROCKS" from Eugene, Or. They are an all male a cappella group. The group started with 2 students who met going to the University of Oregon. They loved music and decided to create this a cappella group in 1999. The group began with only 6 members and now is up to 12. Here is a link to "On the rocks" homepage.
This group performs every Friday on University of Oregon's campus. One Friday in April or May they arranged a Lady Gaga song "Bad Romance." The fans loved it, Ashton Kutcher twitted about it, and from there it went crazy. Here is there video that made them big. Also not sure how to fix the sizing on the videos. Oh well. Enjoy!
Peter Hollens was one of the founding members of the group and just put out this video. If you saw the Mike Tompkin's video "Dynamite" and liked it you might also like this one.
I am loving this group right now. Unfortunately they did not win and came in 5th place. I was so sad to see them go. I think they definitely should of won. The bad part about the Sing-Off show is you, as the viewers, don't get to vote. It's all done by the judges. They are Shawn Stockman (boys II men singing group), Nicole Scherzinger (Pussycat dolls), and Ben Folds with Nick Lachey hosting. Pretty much we have to take their vote. However, the group Committed took the win. I thought they were great too. This was one of my favorite songs by them.
Hope you enjoyed the videos. By the way you can get their music on I tunes. ON THE ROCKS have 5 cd's currently out and all are great. So check them out! Now it's time for me to have a Diet Coke On the Rocks!!!!!

Twilight fan gone crazy
Ok I have to admit I am a twilight fan. I have enjoyed all the movies so far and loved the books. I was looking at this website the other day. Now this lady is obsessed with twilight. She makes these figures from certain tv shows and movies. I came across the twilight ones and had to laugh.

Day 4 Vegas
I can't believe how much I have blogged this past week. I thought it would be fun to split up my trip into a couple of parts. I took way to many pictures as you can see.
To conclude my trip we had one night to party in Vegas. Lucky for me my sister Lisa and her family were heading back home from California the same day we were coming back. Amy and I decided to get a ride with Lisa from California back to Utah with a night in Vegas. This trip worked out perfect. We got a ride to and from California.
In Vegas we enjoyed a Buffet, the coke store, M & M store, walk along the strip, and do a t.v. survey for shows coming up for the Fall season.
Lisa and I being silly at the M & M store
We also visited the Pawn shop where they film the television show Pawn Stars. I've never seen the show, but it was a fun store to be in. While we were there we were asked to leave because they were about to film. Would of been fun to be on an episode.
This is where Amy and I stayed, while Lisa and her family were at the MGM Grand.
A long time ago in the Coke store they had a tour you could go on. You learned the history of coke and got to sample coke products around the world. It was only $5. They have now got rid of that tour, but you can still sample the drinks in their gift shop. Lisa, Karlee, Amy, and I decided to try all the products. Wow some of them were nasty, but others I really like.Posted by lpettey at 8:59 AM 4 comments

Day 3 Part 2
So Day 3 continued. It consisted of going to Santa Monica Pier and the Madame Tussauds Wax Museum. We wanted to go hangout at one of the local beaches and I had been to the Santa Monica pier about a year ago. It was a great place. It has rides, places to eat, and a wonderful look at the ocean from above on the pier. Here are some pictures I took that day.

Saw this on our way to the Wax Museum
Then we were off to Madame Tussauds. So many fun memories. We had a blast and pictures to prove it.
George Lopez
Carrie Underwood
Ryan Seacrest. They didn't do a very good job on him.
Britney when she was innocent
J LO
A close up Zac Efron

Justin Timberlake We were in this room forever. It had good music you could dance to.
Shakira
LOL
So Robert Pattinson is coming to the wax museum. They were getting him in a few weeks. How sad to have missed it.The end of day 3. This was probably my favorite day on the trip. We had great weather, fun tour at the Warner Brothers Studios, the beach, Wax Museum, and a really good dinner at Boston Market. They used to have them here, but no more. I love being able to go on vacation and eat at restaurants you used to have or never ate at before. It's the best.
Nest up. Tomorrow will be Vegas!
