Such That

The phrase "such that" introduces a condition in the definition of a mathematical object and is commonly represented by : or |. For example, the rationals Q can be defined by

Q={p/q:q!=0,p,q in Z},

read as "the set of all p/q such that q!=0 and p,q in Z."
