Every beginning will start in zero

Like an empty round as halo

As time passes by

Hopes were rooted from the ground

Several wanting to have it all

But this is much not from a material.

This was once the goal before

And made me realize a nice savor

That thought will be over,

But not until it makes a wonder.

I sit and type about life,

The pages were quite without any strife.

The words seem to get the spirit to fight

Does anyone gets and adhere it right?

Am I not that tough?

That my days were not enough,

Hope to let those seeds to grow

And let my memory go to flow.

So that when I dusted off the trance

When do we consider that time is very important?

‘til you haven’t reached the last trip of the bus;

‘til you haven’t reached the last minute of a last full show in cinema;

‘til you haven’t seen the sunrise or sunset because you are so busy of the deadliest lines;

‘til you never get the restful sleep because you are preoccupied of your graveyard duty;

‘til you’ve been dismissed in the examination test because your exam time is 8:00 a.m. but you came 8:01;

‘til you got second thoughts to say I love you and wasn’t able to express it because the person has already died ;
'til your spouse committed suicide because you're too busy and unknowingly they've been suffering depression;

‘til you haven’t got the chance to see the shooting star because you kept on scrolling your FB newsfeeds;

‘til you haven’t got the chance to hear the story of your 7-year-old daughter about your family picture because you are too busy frolicking around drinking with your friends.

Indeed time is very important. Not all people got a second chance in life. Make the best out of your time and spend it wisely.

What to say when your friend is losing faith?

Its hard to hear from a good friend that she's losing her faith. She thought that God wasn't able to hear her prayers. She was troubled regrets, anger and impatience attacking her. Her mind was clouded with emotions which lead her to felt unappreciated to what she has at this moment. She's now in the brink of unhappiness.

It doesn’t mean we are Christians we cannot experience struggles. In fact the more we believe in God the more we are prone to temptation. To think that we can’t get through our problems in life. We are the target of the evil forces. And their way is to let us feel that we are being abandoned by God as what they thought and believe it towards God.

God will never abandon us He will always be there for us. This is a test of faith. Pray, pray, lets pray, do not stop praying. You will get through this and God will be your rock. If all else fails, remember Job. Satan did his worst to that man, and no matter how bleak things looked, Job never wavered in his faith. In that story God ALLOWED Satan to torment Job because he wanted to use Job to make a point to the enemy. Job was God's loyal and faithful servant and nothing that Satan did would ever change that. In the end, Job was rewarded abundantly. We are all in constant spiritual warfare. Hang in there, let’s pray, I pray for you and always keep the faith.

After reading her text I offered a prayer and ask God to send to her the holy spirit and give her wisdom to find meaning and purpose to what she had been through right now.

When in times like this, when we don’t know what to do and what to say to our suffering friend experiencing the loss of faith. Let us refer her to a counselor of the church, to a Pastor or Priest, to a guidance counselor and always say a prayer after the conversation.

I have listened to Dan Gilbert: The Surprising Science of Happiness in TED Talk

I agreed to his statement. Yes, some things are better than others, we should have preferences that lead us into one future over another but when those preferences drive us too hard and too fast because we are overrated the difference between these futures we are at risk. When our ambition is bounded it leads us to work joyfully. When our ambition is unbounded it lead us to lie to cheat, to steal, to hurt others, to sacrifice things that we value. Our longings and our worries are both to some degree overblown because we have within us the capacity to manufacture the very commodity we are constantly chasing when we choose experience.

What is Community Acquired Pneumonia? Community-acquired pneumonia (CAP) refers to pneumonia (any of several lung diseases) contracted by a person with little contact with the healthcare system (Wikipedia).

Community Acquired Pneumonia ito 'yong diagnosis ko.

This was the first time that had been admitted to the hospital and I hope will be the last!

When the doctor said, “Admit kana ngayon” . I answered “ Doc kaya paman nko, can I'll just take my medications at home?. The doctor said that the infections are serious. But I insisted that I I’m okay kaya ko pa naman ang katawan ko. The doctor said, “ang tigas talaga ng ulo mo! I just laugh and my psyche’s said ”Here comes the saying na “spirit is willing but the body is weak”.

At night my body is in heat, there was pinching in my chest that seemed like a knife that wants to chop.

So I followed the doctor’s advice in the morning. The denial on my part by kept on telling my visitors about being hospitalized for the first time. Indeed, I’m not a super woman!

I thank God I’m okay now.

Everything that happen to us has been designed for our spiritual growth. ‪#‎Live‬!

I remember this poem when I was in high school memorizing each line, was assigned to recite and perform this poem of Maya Angelou. This poem became one of my favorites from Dr. Maya Angelou R.I.P - you're such an inspiration!

A Quarter Life Blues

There were times I really wanted to be alone. It is not that I am aloof but I just need some time to think especially when I was surrounded with people who were very loud.

Sometimes I think and asked myself. Does it something to do with my age?... A quarter life blues..( Here we go again my psyche) That I don’t want force myself to blend in?. I might wanted to listen to them but I don’t really wanted to stay with them.

This quote is comforting to what I’m feeling right now. From Tanya Davis she said,

“You could be in an instant surrounded if you needed it. If your heart is bleeding, make the best of it. There is heat in freezing, be a testament”.

I guess my feelings to this state was affirmed!

Have you ever tried to decide abruptly without having second thought to travel with your most two favorite people in the world?

The day after the celebration of my birthday. My two cousins and I have secretly, abruptly wandered to this beautiful place. Four hours from home we went here at Banay- banay Burias Coral Reef, Davao Oriental.

We visited our aunt and stopover to their house, surprisingly. We viewed the beautiful scenery of their fish pond. Viewed also the wonderful mangroves. We bought fish to grill and ate it inside the house in the middle of the sea.

This was one of the beautiful experiences I’ve experience this 2014!

And I Praise and thank God for this wonderful ocean.

My previous year was so hectic but I've learned not to forget to become a child again to have my play time and balance ~ badminton, zip line, playing guitar, swim and celebrate. To sway or to smash temptation, to zip in a zigzag life, to strum in the most difficult chords of work demands, to dive deeply in the ocean of life and look for pearls of justice and hope, to shout with joy of my triumphant endeavor ~Praise God!. He knew that the child in me has unlimited forgiveness,faith, trust, and creativity. Could I ask for more?.... Now its time to level up. Another year added, oh my age is increasing , developing, progressing but I shouldn't be worried because age is just a number , which signifies that I'm still dreaming and alive!....

As I open this new post I ask myself what's on my mind? what are my thoughts?

There’s nothing wrong with having knowledge and power as long as it is beneficial to all mankind, not rooted in greedy and personal selfish interests. Having a brain is a gift from God to people to be used to think about what is right and wrong. I agree that when a man enjoys having his creative powers may lead to potential destruction unless there is wisdom from God above or higher being and it could give a good benefit to all. What the mind goes the body will follow, so whatever the desire of the person might be the reflection of his or her attitudes and values.

I believe that it is essential for a person to commit a mistake and let the human learn from their own experience so that it would fill into their being and own realization that committing a mistake is not stupidity but a chance to be improved as a person. Indeed, the feeling of emptiness also has a purpose to be filled in. Some say, “it is wiser to learn from the mistake of others” but again an experienced felt from the heart and soul could drive change for the person and can change self and be able to inspire others to change too.

People may have different ways and different expressions of love. I agree that love is not enough to live here in this world. There must be understanding, compromise, and sacrifice which cannot be seen as a sacrifice, but a joy. There must be a purpose on why a person lives here in this world as a motivational force. I believe that I myself should have meaning in what I do. This kind of job that I have is a choice as I find it noble and makes me realize that my existence in this world is worth the while.

Some people may perceived that you are great but the thing is they do not know what you have gone through. All they know is the outer look or persona that you wear every day. They do not care to ask you if you are okay and if some did ask but you just don't want to respond authentically, not ready to dig in more of the real emotions, too much cultivation and so hectic to deal with (repression - a motivated forgetting, unconsciously). It is also a hint that some people were interested in you, or sometimes you are not interested to connect with them or sometimes you are the ones that is out of the connection. Sometimes we will meet a stranger thinking if that stranger will be with us, on our journey in life or for the rest of our lives.

Sometimes even in evaluating thy self I tend to ask what’s bothering you inside? what haunts you, self?. When there were so many things that I could think or make. I was suddenly in a stance to think or doubt myself made me pause and ask this question.. "I am strong?', "can I do it?" . But then , I realized....the truth is, I am at 0% capacity and the only thing that I am clinging to is to our God Almighty, thinking without Him , I am nothing!

It is true that self and society are interconnected. If I would like to change society it must be started within me. I read a passage about "If you want to change the world, go home and love your family". This is kind of bugling, issues within the self and family is crippling to discuss and sometimes hard to fathom but as long as we could just live by. continuously and have a deeper understanding and able to be more gentle and tender with one another we could still be at peace without even forcing to discuss the "big elephant", within the family. I should strive to become emotionally stable or stable in all aspects so that I am able to help others, if not yet for the self fully , because I believe in helping others could slowly begin to help me cope with my own issues. I should be more responsible (no pressure self!) for my own attitude, behavior, and values, before becoming an agent of change to society. These are in my thoughts right now... wanted to impart the society to live and make this world a better place, despite my own defects and circumstance-- a functional imperfect human being! soon hoping to become a healed healer (yes easier said than done, but at least hoping).

Self-respect is so much important for me regardless the gain of the respect from others. I am glad that I am reaching the point to not please everyone and seek to their approval. I am tired pleasing everyone without looking into my own depths.

What is important to me right now is that I have already accepted Jesus in my heart and He may live in me. Random question to the self before "What do you want to become when you grow up?".. Here's my revised answer from my previous answer to become either dentist or writer.

When I grow up, I want to become happy, this is my ultimate goal in life, letting people know that I am their friend. It made me realized when I knew the qualities of Jesus Christ, He used to help other people. He doesn’t choose anyone as being with Him, He is fair to all and exempts no one to be called as His friend. So much thankful for knowing and understanding Him. May He will always be my model of doing things that could always please Him. What a humbling feeling that I as human not perfect could possibly change to become good -- never better, yet and may live to give ripple effect to other people. For some, I hope they got model, created themselves if they don't believe in divine human like Jesus, at least to the higher self or vibration.

Good Samaritan Still Exist

An hour ago, I am so much grateful that I encountered a good samaritan. Almost one year that I haven't opened this blog but because of this good samaritan that I encountered when I'm on my way home, I'll open it again to secrete the juices of my receptiveness! I asked the name of the good Samaritan he answered "Dodong". He is kuya Dodong....

Tonight was the final exam of my General Psychology class in the first term. That was two hours of the students struggling neurons on the test questions. Their battle ended and I got to go home earlier. Am so excited to go home early, but a cold breeze and a hard rain sensed to my face. Its a cold rainy night as I approached the gate of my workplace.

Thank God! I brought an umbrella so I was able to fight the hard rain and ride a public utility jeep. Travel time - there was a heavy traffic I anticipated that it was due to rain but when we reached to the cause of the congested way there was a bus and a puj clashed to each other, ahhh! the root of the delay. The goal of going home early was rotten. As I reached to my second ride, I again expect that I can hardly found a vacant seat in the jeep because there were few PUJ during rainy nights. So I decided to take a cab but unfortunately there was none. All were occupied... I felt the so cold, I can feel the wind with wet feet and while holding my umbrella praying to God for a ride to end the agony of the night. 'til such time that there was a PUJ stopped in front of me. I thought that I got the chance to take a seat but there was no vacant seat at all. Surprisingly, a good samaritan said "diri ka o, dri nlang ka ako nalng dira sa gawas, nabasa naman ko gamay ganina" he offered his seat for me and he rather stay hanging at the stepped on the PUJ and took a bathe in the heavy rain. I was touched by the gentleman's kindness. As I discern he got a packed of medicine he handed in his left hand. I asked his name, he said "Dodong" I told him, "Salamat kuya Dodong".

In this stance, I can even shout out loud that "GOOD SAMARITAN STILL EXIST!"

When he was about to stepped out, I silently offered a prayer for him and for his family. To grant them good health and blessings. I can't exchange anything in return to kuya Dodong but my prayers are all I can offer...

What Does Moth Symbolize?

What does moth symbolize? I have created my own symbol of moth...

I was wondering about why this moth kept following me. Sometimes I tend to become over analytic and over analyze things. At first I ever think of it as a warning, because last 2002, the night before my grandmother died a big black flown to our mirror. I never knew that was a warning that my grandmother passed away.

Talking about this moth is different from the black butterfly I think of it as a cheerful moth a new way transformation of my life. I find it as a sign for me to decide not to punish myself anymore for the wrongs of others or on my own wrong doing. This moth symbolizes for me to decide to re enter into the flow of new life and love.

Island Hopping in Kaputian, Island Garden City of Samal

After the long night Pre Christmas party celebration which wasn't over yet!

We took breakfast afterwards we decided to go on Island hopping around IGACOS (Island Garden City of Samal)

We went to Talikod Island. The most terrible part is when MJ (sister of Jean) told us that there are lots of sharks. Yes were scared but it was gone and filled with joy when we reached the place. The water was so called crystal clear we jumped and sway.

The funny thing was that the waves were getting fury, the climate wasn’t that good. We felt the raindrops nevertheless we enjoyed the moment. We dived but not that confident we have this Looong rope with us if in case the waves bring us to somewhere.

Pre Christmas Celebration

Do you know that Philippines got the longest celebration during Christmas season? It is always started when the month of August ends.

The Gistwat Barkada (A group name of Psychology students in college) celebrated their Pre Christmas Party Celebration last December 3-4, 2011Saturday to Sunday at Kaputian, Island Garden City of Samal.

The group arrived at almost 9pm. There were three tents and one cottage. The stars were clear and the night was cold while everyone enjoyed chatting, updating career and lives to each other.

Not all Gistwat members got the chance to attend on the said party but aside from the fact, the group were still hoping for the other members who wasn't able to attend were safe and thanking the one's who have attended.

Who among the Gistwat members have attended the Christmas Party 2011?

Riza, Mai2x, Brian, Eve's, Melai, Anne, Joy, Summer, Che2x, Jean Marie with MJ, and Christine.

After the mingle we exchanged gifts...

The process, whoever picked the name will need to describe the person in three adjectives. So that everybody will have an idea who's that person. It's kinda process of self awareness right? Group dynamics strikes.

Every one got their gift and that was the time we started party2x!

What is your latest playground?

As what I have observed in here in our place way back 90's you saw children playing in front of houses with those popular never ending Filipino games like the larong piko, tigso, chinese garter, marbles, tumba lata, luto-lutoan, taguan and etc. But now, in the year of 20's you will notice that there are no children playing outside, if there’s any only few playing old games.

This is because some children are playing with their gadgets and most of the children are playing inside of their houses using personal computer while others are renting computers in the swiftnet café J

There are several sites on the internet providing free games. One of these is the number one ranked ~ Facebook. There are so many stress debriefing games applications in Fb that even grownups are fond of playing Tetris, Yoville, Farmville, Cityville and a lot of face book applications.

What's with Coffee?

I really love coffee, even though it was included in the list of No-No to those who have hypothyroidism. But still, it tastes good. What's with the coffee? It is good as a stimulant and has antioxidants. My friends and I were coffee lovers' loved to hang at a coffee shop in Davao City. Thinking of the best coffee shop in Davao City, Coffee for Peace in Matina was one of them! The place is suited for updating each other's lives aside from the great taste of coffee and other pastries.

This was one of the best bonding we've ever had with great significant people around.

I really love to play scrabble. I remember when I was a kid, I can't stop until my sister wont be knocked out.
They used to tease me as " a wizzard of Scrab!" Since then, I used to play with words that's why when I encountered a new word I can't wait to look on the dictionary just to know that word.

Theories of Love

Psychologists and researchers have proposed a number of different theories of love. The following are four of the major theories proposed to explain liking, love, and emotional attachment.

Liking vs. Loving

Psychologist Zick Rubin proposed that romantic love is made up of three elements: attachment, caring, and intimacy. Attachment is the need to receive care, approval, and physical contact with the other person. Caring involves valuing the other person’s needs and happiness as much as your own. Intimacy refers to the sharing of thoughts, desires, and feelings with the other person.

Based upon this definition, Rubin devised a questionnaire to assess attitudes about others and found that these scales of liking and loving provided support for his conception of love.

Compassionate vs. Passionate Love

According to psychologist Elaine Hatfield and her colleagues, there are two basic types of love: compassionate love and passionate love. Compassionate love is characterized by mutual respect, attachment, affection, and trust. Compassionate love usually develops out of feelings of mutual understanding and shared respect for each other.

Passionate love is characterized by intense emotions, sexual attraction, anxiety, and affection. When these intense emotions are reciprocated, people feel elated and fulfilled. Unreciprocated love leads to feelings of despondence and despair. Hatfield suggests that passionate love is transitory, usually lasting between 6 and 30 months.

According to Hatfield, passionate love arises when cultural expectations encourage falling in love, when the person meets your preconceived ideas of an ideal lover, and when you experience heightened physiological arousal in the presence of the other person.

Ideally passionate love then leads to compassionate love, which is far more enduring. While most people desire relationships that combine the security and stability of compassionate with the intensity of passionate love, Hatfield suggests that this is rare.

In his 1973 book The Colors of Love, John Lee compared styles of love to the color wheel. Just as there are three primary colors, Lee suggested that there are three primary styles of love. These three styles of love are: (1) Eros, (2) Ludos, and (3) Storge.

Continuing the color wheel analogy, Lee proposed that just as the primary colors can be combined to create complementary colors, these three primary styles of love could be combined to create nine different secondary love styles. For example, a combination of Eros and Ludos results in Mania, or obsessive love.

Lee’s 6 Styles of Loving

Three primary styles:

1. Eros – Loving an ideal person

2. Ludos – Love as a game

3. Storge – Love as friendship

Three secondary styles:

1. Mania (Eros + Ludos) – Obsessive love

2. Pragma (Ludos + Storge) – Realistic and practical love

3. Agape (Eros + Storge) – Selfless love

Triangular Theory of Love

Psychologist Robert Sternberg proposed a triangular theory of love that suggests that there are three components of love: intimacy, passion, and commitment. Different combinations of these three components result in different types of love. For example, a combination of intimacy and commitment results in compassionate love, while a combination of passion and intimacy leads to passionate love.

According to Sternberg, relationships built on two or more elements are more enduring that those based upon a single component. Sternberg uses the term consummate love to describe a combination of intimacy, passion, and commitment. While this type of love is the strongest and most enduring, Sternberg suggests that this type of love is rare.
