We're OLD!

The boys were having an argument today.  Gavin was saying that he was NOT 3 1/2.  After some bickering, Miles asked, "Well how old are you then, Gavin?"  Gavin says, "37".  Miles exclaimed, "You can't be 37!  That's old!  That's like you're going to DIE soon!!!"

Yes, Jason and I are both 37.  lol

Miles' School Holiday Party

We took the boys to the school's holiday party.  We got in line for Santa right away, before eating dinner.  Gavin was hungry, so after telling Santa what he wanted, he also told him he wanted pizza.  LOL

Miles loves line dancing!  Gavin loves to follow Miles.

This is what little boys do at a dance.

Unless it's the chicken dance.

Biggest Quarter I've Ever Seen

So, Miles lost his first tooth at movie night of all places!  There he was, watching the movie on the gym floor, enjoying some popcorn with a hundred other kids.  He got what he thought was a popcorn kernel in his mouth.  He went to take it out and he saw it was something white.  He thought it was just a bad piece of popcorn so he flung it off of his finger.  Then he went to wiggle his loose tooth with his tongue (like he's been doing for weeks) and it was gone!  He got a little concerned and let his school principal know that he was missing his tooth and that he needed to find it for the tooth fairy.  So, they looked around his blanket.  They looked on the floor around the blanket and saw a little bit of white.  And another.  And another.  Did I mention there was popcorn in the gym with a hundred other kids?  Finally the principal announced to the room that they needed to find the tooth and every kid got up and was looking around for it!  But to no avail.  Pretty soon the search was abandoned, but the principal was not about to let Miles go home empty handed.  She personally hand wrote a letter to the Tooth Fairy about what had happened.  When I picked Miles up, he was the most famous kid in the building.  Big kids and little kids all knew who Miles was and pointed him out to their parents: "That's the kid who lost his tooth!"  He seemed to kind of enjoy the fame :).

That night, we folded up the letter, and stuck it in the pocket of the tooth pillow.  We chuckled at how surprised the tooth fairy would be when she withdrew a long white object, thinking it was a tooth from a dinosaur, not a 7 year old!  Well, she apparently liked the story, because when Miles woke up, he flew into our room saying "It's the biggest quarter I've ever seen!" over and over again.  The Tooth Fairy had left him a silver dollar.

Trick-or-Treat

Miles and Gavin had a good time trick-or-treating.  Gavin had a little harder time getting around with his costume.  It kept shifting on him, so he couldn't see very well.  lol

Pumpkin Carving

Every year Jason wants to have a pumpkin contest with me.  I was originally going to do something more cute, but he kept acting so superior that I decided to step up my game.  Miles is into scary right now, and since he was the main judge, I knew that I had to do something to appeal to him.  So, while Jason was making an angry bird, I was going for gruesome.  Mine won hands down!  I do believe that's 3 years in a row, but who's counting?...ME!!!

Jason's was actually quite creative.  The angry bird eyebrows were carved inside so that when it was lit up you could see them.  It was neat, and he did a fantastic job on the beak.

Miles got into cleaning out his pumpkin this year

Gavin helped a little, as long as he had tools

The winning pumpkin, I'm not sure that you can see that the small pumpkin is vomiting or the blood
