DEOLA FOLARIN We are shocked and saddened by the sudden death of our dear colleague Deola Folarin, who many clients will know from Euroscript's industry events. A talented writer and director, Deola was a valued Euroscript board member, an enthusiastic creative collaborator and a very kind friend. Our thoughts go out to her family and friends at this sad time. |

THE CINEMA OF DISTURBANCE
IN-PERSON WORKSHOP
People often say audiences go to films to ‘feel good’.
But feature films require escalating conflict to drive their narratives forward.
Protagonists who suffer, lose control, confront uncertainty and plunge into crisis.
'Feeling good' isn't enough to explain all this.
At some level, audiences are attracted to disturbance, disorientation, confusion - even terror.
They require these emotions from thrillers, science fiction, crime, social dramas, even comedy, as well as horror films.
The workshop looks at these sensations from an audience point-of-view.
It explores why people might want to experience them. How they may be psychologically useful.
And it gives you the methods you need to create compelling 'disturbances.'
