Map Channels tools let you create and embed a custom map for your website or blog without the need for coding.

The service is free. You can use the map scripts generated by this site for both commercial and non-commercial use.

Map Channels is an independent website which has been running since 2007 and is not affiliated with Google.

Welcome to Dual Maps 3D

We are delighted to announce Dual Maps 3D, the next generation of Dual Maps, now live at dualmaps.com!

Dual Maps 3D takes everything you loved about the classic Dual Maps and adds a stunning photorealistic 3D Earth view, powered by Google’s Photorealistic 3D Tiles. All three panels – road map, street view and 3D Earth – stay fully synchronised as you explore.

Photorealistic 3D Earth – powered by CesiumJS and Google’s 3D Tiles for immersive, high-detail 3D imagery.

Full camera control – pan, zoom, rotate and tilt the 3D view with mouse or touch gestures.

Shareable links – capture and share the exact map, street view and 3D camera position via URL.

Alongside Dual Maps 3D, we have also launched Dual Free Maps – a completely open-source alternative stack using MapLibre GL, ESRI satellite imagery and Mapillary street-level photography.

Dual Free Maps requires no Google API key and is ideal for users who need a free and open mapping solution.

Both Dual Maps 3D and Dual Free Maps are now published as open source projects on GitHub under the MIT licence. You are free to fork, self-host, embed or build upon them.

Welcome to Map Channels X

We are excited to announce that Map Channels X – the next generation of Map Channels – is now available for early testing!

Map Channels X is a complete ground-up rebuild, designed to be faster, more flexible and easier to use than ever before. It brings a modern interface and a fresh architecture built to take advantage of the latest mapping technology.

• Modern, responsive design that works great on desktop and mobile.

• Rebuilt from the ground up for improved performance and reliability.

• New features and tools in active development – with more on the way.

• Built with future Google Maps API changes in mind.

This is an early Alpha release – features are still being added, it definitely still contains bugs and things will change, but we would love you to try it out and let us know what you think!

Also if you have any sample data such as My Maps, KML or GeoRSS feeds that could be used in a featured map then please contact us and include a link to your data.

Map Channels X represents a significant step forward for the platform.
