During her visit to campus, @astro_christina sat down with Chancellor Kevin Howell and faculty panelists to discuss how public higher education opens doors.

The NASA astronaut returned to the university where she earned three degrees, welcomed by a building naming in her honor, a taste of a limited-edition Howling Cow ice cream flavor, and a whole Wolfpack cheering her on.

NC State was her launchpad. Now, Christina Hammock Koch Hall will be the home for the next generation of thinkers and doers.
“I will embody the values of integrity, excellence and humility, of thinking first and always doing, too,” Koch said at yesterday’s celebration. “I will keep coming back — not just for ribbon cuttings, but for office hours. For the students in the fourth row who think they are the only ones in the room who don’t understand, and who have not yet been told that isn’t a disqualification.”

Did you get the scoop? 🍨 Yesterday at astronaut Christina Koch’s welcome home celebration, Chancellor Kevin Howell announced a new flavor of @ncstatehowlingcow ice cream called Howl at the Moon. This limited-edition flavor features a cheesecake ice cream with blueberry and raspberry swirls and pieces of graham cracker pie crust.
📌 Howl at the Moon will be available for a limited time at Talley Student Union and the Howling Cow Dairy Education Center and Creamery, while supplies last.
