After the Sept. 11, 2001, terrorist attacks, Rose Glaser felt compelled to help. She rallied friends and local businesses to provide food, supplies and financial support to rescue and recovery workers in New York and erect a Berks memorial.

Reading marks 25 years since 9/11 with solemn remembrance at City Park

The Animal Rescue League of Berks County and Reading Coffee Co. will unveil their 2026 signature coffee and tea blend collaboration on Saturday, Sept. 12 at Reading Coffee Co., 316 W Main St. in Birdsboro. The signature blends will be sold at Reading Coffee Co., and the Animal Rescue League, 58 Kennel Drive in Cumru Township – with proceeds benefiting animals in the organization’s care.
