The soft core helps reduce visible grain and white spots on textured paper, allowing for smooth layering and blending with minimal patchiness or harsh lines under normal use.

Your finished artwork resists noticeable fading over time, even when displayed on a wall or stored in a portfolio. Colors retain their original appearance for years, so you can create with confidence.

ARRTX new Colored Pencils.
Reviewed in Canada on October 17, 2026A beautiful set of pencils which have a large 5 mm core. They are sturdy and soft core with many colors 84 !!!!!!! The best set of pencils that I have tried. Sharpen well and a wonderful play when you lay them down on your color book. I can’t wait for more some time in the future?! LOVE THEM!

Super qualité /prix
Reviewed in Canada on July 22, 2024Ma passion, le coloriage.

Smooth, buttery colored pencil experience
Reviewed in Canada on April 26, 2022These colored pencils are wonderfully velvety smooth and buttery to lay down. The colors are saturated and layer well. They are a good balance of wax/oil/fat and don't seem to have wax blooming when layering.
There are some minor issues, the packaging although innovative because the pencils are placed inside the foam in a vertical fashion into "slots" rather than individual holes they fall over into each other because there is no support once the next pencil is removed. Also, the "lemon yellow" has a green tinge and has a bright chartreuse hue rather than a true lemon yellow. The set also lacks an ivory/off white/buff color. The colors are also not accurate to the actual pencil color. Some of the greens and blues look extremely similar to each other as well. For the price point and quality I would rank these as higher than student quality but not artist grade due to the lack of information on light fastness. I did contact Arrtx to see if they had any ASTM testing results but they did not respond at all and it has been over 2 weeks since I contacted them. I will upgrade the review if they do end up responding.
If you are looking for a Prismacolor alternative these are the pencils. They have all the buttery smoothness and saturation of Prismacolor but without the waxiness and breakage. This set even has the greys in percentages exactly like Prismacolor. You get a 20%, 50% and 70% in warm and cool tones of grey. Other than the missing warm white the curation of colors is very good and versatile for portraits, landscape, and botanical. The white, silver and gold are decent although not as opaque as Prismacolor and Caran D'ache on black paper but they can be built up to a near equivalent and that is a lot coming from this price point.
I recommend these highly. I also have full sets of Luminance, Polychromos and Prismacolors so I think I am able to give a fair comparison. I did see a YouTube review comparing them to Holbein colored pencils and I wouldn't be surprised if that were true.

Awesome color pencils!
Reviewed in Canada on July 26, 2023Another beautiful product from Arrtx. I have used their ALP alcohol markers (point and chisel tips; not the brush ones) and loved them. I am only a hobbyist artist and even the fancy-name relatively low-cost color pencils were a little too much for my budget. I don't have any other colored-pencils to compare these to but I have used oil pastels a lot (and from many different brands) and can say something about their coloring abilities.
These pencils run smoothly across the paper (i.e. they are not scratchy), blend easily and layer a lot! Even on cheap paper, I can easily add 3 layers of different colors and see the new "mixes". On good quality mixed media paper, their layer-ability stretches even further. The colors are rich, vibrant and there are so many different colors to pick from... another really awesome product from Arrtx! Thanks...

Merci beaucoup Amazone !

Buttery soft, easily blends, no breakage!
Reviewed in Canada on January 2, 2023I am by no means an artist. However I have been coloring in coloring books my entire life. I'm a beginner at blending, the uploaded pic is my 2nd blend ever apart from art class in highschool some 20 yrs ago. These pencils are beautiful, they easily blend, they're so creamy + buttery soft, ive had no breakage yet. Bonus: the box they come in a beautiful box - the box has a foam insert that holds the pencils in place. If your looking for all the magic of primsmacolors but at an affordable price - this is it! Tbh they might even blend better than prisma's js.

Soft, colours as not quite as bright as the image shows
Reviewed in Canada on January 12, 2023These pencils are quite soft, they blend alright. However, the image shows a lot of very bright colours while most of the actual ones are quite bland, a lot of dark colours, not that many bright ones. For example, I was looking for the brightest red, found crimson red and brick red and rose red and whatever else reds, but not the simple bright standard red that should be in any pencil set.
The pencils are ok, but probably priced a bit too high for what they actually are.

Anna5 out of 5 starsFunfaktor sehr gut
Meine Gesamtbeurteilung: 4 Sterne Plus! (hier 5 Sterne).

Reviewed in Japan on October 20, 2026
