About the author

Stella J. Cook is a passionate educator, lifelong storyteller, and proud grandmother whose heart belongs to both the classroom and the coast. Born in 1967 in the mountains of southeastern Kentucky and raised in southeastern Michigan, Stella’s roots are grounded in strong family values and the joy of simple moments. Her journey took her to the sun-drenched shores of Florida’s Gulf Coast, where she lived for five unforgettable years—an experience that inspires much of her writing.
With over 25 years of teaching experience, Stella has dedicated most of her career to kindergarten education. She has also taught first and fourth grade, bringing her deep love of literacy, learning, and child development into every classroom she enters. Stella believes in the power of stories to connect, heal, and ignite the imagination—whether she’s reading with young learners or writing heartfelt novels and educational guides for families.
Stella is married, a proud mother of three, and a joyful grandmother to four grandchildren. When she’s not writing or teaching, she can be found enjoying beach days, family gatherings, or walking her beloved dog, Willow. Her books reflect her love of family, education, coastal life, and the enduring beauty of everyday connections.
