Easy to see through and I love the metal strip. I wish both sides of the ruler had the metal strip.

I have used this particular ruler for several years for drawing and drafting and have been satisfied with the outcome each time I use it for a project. It is solid and durable, easy to see marks and alignment, and comfortable to work with at just the right length for simple designs.

I love these metal edge plastic rulers.

As someone who does a lot of crafting and cutting, the metal edge along the side of this plastic ruler is incredibly helpful. Years ago in art school, I frequently made accidental gouges in plastic rulers and straightedges until I found this product at a local art store. I used that same ruler for over decade. Over the years some of the numbers and lines started to wear off, and then this year I noticed the glue holding the metal strip in place was starting to give out. I searched on Amazon and found the exact same ruler, and am now so happy to have it again in mint condition!

I love this ruler, and I bet you will too.

The ruler is sturdy but the glue/cement used to secure the metal edge into the side had oozed out along the edge. I had to spend some time scraping dried glue/cement off the metal strip in order to get a clean edge for cutting.

I was so glad to find this ruler. It is identical to the one I bought in college and used for over 30 years! The marks on my original one had worn off (I pretty much abused that thing). I will take better care of this one. I love that it has a metal side - perfect for using an x-acto knife. I also love the lines that fill the center of the ruler. They make lining things up very easy. Love it.

I purchased this Westcott Grid Ruler about 8 months ago. I've used it with its metal edge to cut straight lines on paper labels with an X-acto knife maybe a half dozen times. Today the metal edge separated and came loose (see photo).

Both the ruler and the metal edge are much thinner than the older Wescott ruler that I purchased 10 years back. (Unfortunately my son brought it to school, forgot and left it there.)

It appears you can't go by the brand-name for the quality of products today to be the same as they were when they were American-made years back. :-(

I'll amend this review if Westcott stands up to provide a quality replacement. For now I can no longer recommend this brand and ruler.

That's kinda it. Obviously the best features are the ones you probably bought it for, the hard edge for cutting along and the clear ruler that makes it much easier to align work. It's great for what it does.

I like clear measuring grid. I like the metal strip on one side. Great to use with cutting blade. I also like the other side which is beveled. Makes it easier to use with inks. No smearing.

Nice ruler, but the markings could possibly be in black or red. The grey is very light, and hard to see on some colours.

As a design student, this ruler is great, the transparency and the lines help make cutting and I regret not getting this sooner. Excellent product and has withstood the abuse of a university student I would recommend for anyone who is into crafts.

Great product.

Clear sides with cutter sharpener.

Good utility tool.

El borde de metal estaba chueco, entonces los cortes no quedaban derechos.

Accurate and well made. This 30cm size is easy to handle.
