Els coprotermobacterots (Coprothermobacterota) són un fílum de bacteris gramnegatius del regne dels pseudomonadats (Pseudomonadati).[1]
Són microorganismes en forma de bacil, fermentadors, proteolítics i termòfils. La seva tinció és gramnegativa, per bé que la seva estructura és monodèrmica (tipus grampositiu). El nom prové del grec "kopros" (fems) i "thermo" (calent) perquè es va trobar per primera vegada en fems i perquè la seva temperatura de creixement òptima és d'uns 55 °C.[2]
