‘Green Halloween’ Sustainable Costume Making with Young Ethical Explorers

It’s an unfortunate fact that Halloween is terrible for the environment: most decorations and costumes are used only once before being thrown away, and they’re often made of plastics and harmful chemicals that can persist in the environment for centuries. So, let’s do our part to green Halloween!
Join us for our annual Young Ethical Explorers DIY sustainable costume workshop, where kids of all ages are invited to turn recycled materials of all kinds–cardboard, fabric, plastic, old clothes, and more–into their own unique costume creations. The Society will provide a trove of donated materials and attendees are also invited to bring your own!
This year’s costume-making will be held during our 2nd Annual Ethical Street Fair, outside on W 64th St. in front of our meeting house.
