XLibre on Hurd

[NexusSfan]

I know there is the original X11 on Debian GNU/Hurd but would it be possible to compile XLibre for Hurd? If so, there should be some guide.

I'm moving this to X11Libre/packaging Xlibre On Other Distributions · Discussions · GitHub since it is related to a distribution.

I was able to get the proper dependencies to compile XLibre by running sudo apt build-dep xserver-xorg-core and it compiled.
When I try to run it with ./bin/X :1 it reports Fatal server error: no screens found and ./bin/X :1 vt8 it reports Unrecognized option: vt8 (fails on either root or user)

How did you solve this?

I'm sure startx/xinit (wrapper for /bin/X) handled it.

Made some progress.

I am currently using these packages and putting "xlibre" on the name as a workaround.

So your mouse and keyboard are working now?

So your mouse and keyboard are working now?

Mouse works but keyboard doesn't work properly as of now. If I can fix that issue then the X server fully works.

Are you already using the X11Libre/xf86-input-keyboard driver?

[NexusSfan]

Are you already using the X11Libre/xf86-input-keyboard driver?

No, I'm currently using the one provided by Xorg, which doesn't work due to ABI problems, but if you manually install the XLibre kbd drivers, it will probably work.

Ok, I will add a comment mentioning the XLibre keyboard driver to Get keyboard working · Issue #1 · NexusSfan/xlibre-hurd. Btw. 👍 for creating the issues! Makes the process very transparent and easy to collaborate.

Guix GNU/HURD? xlibre support?

[NexusSfan]

Right now the packages are only built for Debian, but you can use any HURD distro as long as you install this patch for the Xserver
