NGC 4945 é unha galaxia en espiral da constelación Centaurus,e está situada preto da estrela brillante Zeta Centauri.^[1] A galaxia foi descuberta por James Dunlop en 1826. Pénsase que podería ser semellante a un Pac-Man, aínda que observacións en raios X amosan que a NGC 4945 ten un raro núcleo enérxico do tipo Seyfert 2 que podería albergar unha gran buraco negro.^[2]

Grupo de galaxias

NGC 4945 é unha das galaxias máis brillantes do cúmulo galáctico Centaurus A/Grupo M83, un gran grupo de galaxias próximo. A galaxia é a segunda máis brillante de subgrupo centrado sobre Centaurus A.^[3]^[4]
