m(other)hoodCaiti QuatmannPaperbackLet them see you happy. Let them know you’d give up everything for them. Make time for yourself. But never at their expense. You only get one shot at this. Try not to get it wrong. In m(other)hood, Caiti Quatmann loses themselves through sleep deprivation and sensory overload, then refinds themselves, healed by the power of acceptance of the past and present. Like MEDITATIONS (ON CHEESE): POEMS ON LIFE, FLAVOR, AND FORM (2025), Quatmann’s second book with Alien Buddha Press, m(other)hood shows why, as one reviewer wrote, Caiti Quatmann serves a “masterclass in tone.” Caiti Quatmann (she/they) is a disabled and queer writer and mother residing in St. Louis, MO. She is the author of the poetry chapbook Yoke (MyrtleHaus 2024) and Editor-in-Chief for HNDL Mag. Her writing is published in or forthcoming with Rattle, Little Old Lady Comedy, The Bitchin’ Kitsch, Neologism Poetry Journal, Thread, manywor(l)ds, and others. Find her online @CaitiTalks.

MEDITATIONS (ON CHEESE): POEMS ON LIFE, FLAVOR, AND FORMCaiti QuatmannPaperbackIn Meditations (On Cheese), Caiti Quatmann breaks the deafening silence surrounding cheese and transforms it into a poetic revelation. Finally, a book that gives a voice to cheesemongers—and to the cheeses themselves! From the humble curds of Gorgonzola to the quiet melancholy of a corner store’s dairy aisle, each poem is a moment of savoring, a journey home through taste and memory. The best cheese-themed collection you will ever read. Meditations (on Cheese) explores the volatile ripening of identity alongside the warmth of a shared table, all through the lens of dairy delicacy. Quatmann entices the reader to become a connoisseur of humanity, to come eagerly sample every bite “as if they were fragments of dreams.” An ode to food in an ever-demanding world, this collection functions as a soothing balm for the body and soul and a masterclass in tone. Quatmann will leave you hungry for more! —Amanda Nicole Corbin, author of addiction is a sweet dark room In this collection of lyrical poems, cheese becomes more than food—it’s a vessel of longing, a keeper of nostalgia, a storyteller of time and place. From the wild veins of Gorgonzola to the quiet yearning of a late-night cheesecake, Quatmann explores the textures of memory, the weight of indulgence, and the echoes of family traditions. Told with warmth, wit, and a deep reverence for both the craft of cheesemaking and the rituals of the table, Meditations (on Cheese) invites you to taste, to remember, and to revel in the complex cultures of food and feeling. - Danielle Coffyn, author of If Adam Picked the Apple
