I stayed at Casa Ramiro Salgado for four days in early August. Location: Quietly situated in the picturesque village of Larinho, the property is a hidden gem. The drive to the property adds to the charm of discovering it. Major attractions, such as the Douro Valley, Torre de Moncorvo, Vila Nova de Foz Côa, and others, are within easy driving distance. The welcome provided by Sara and her mother, Maria, was unparalleled—something I truly appreciated. They delight in sharing the history of the house and their family. The ‘Prensa’ room features an antique wine press; the room itself is exquisitely finished, offering every modern comfort and luxury while incorporating its original function into the décor. For me, this is one of the finest B&B rooms I have ever stayed in, especially considering the excellent value for money. This B&B comes highly recommended for anyone visiting the region. The fact that it opened only recently makes their achievement of such a high standard of hospitality and comfortable accommodation all the more impressive. Breakfast: Local products, delicious cheeses, and jams, with lovely service from Fatima. Added bonus: A beautiful swimming pool overlooking the surrounding hilly landscape and the village church.

Perfect place to work remotely and restoure my energy ✨ and accessible place ♿️ A truly magical place to recharge. This beautifully refurbished old house is an absolute gem! The architect did a remarkable job preserving its character while bringing it back to life. And those woodwork details (windows, doors, structure...) impressive… flawless taste, what a job well done! The setting is breathtaking, surrounded by stunning landscapes and amazing hiking trails that make it hard to want to leave. I enjoyed a few trails after my workday to decompress and worked like a charm. Returning home at golden hour, I’m always caught off guard by this vivid cascade of red, orange, and yellow bleeding across the sky. But what truly makes this place shine is the people. Sara, the owner, welcomed us with so much warmth and love , you feel like family from the moment you arrive. Fatima is an absolute sweetheart who takes care of every little need with a smile. And Anilda’s cake? Simply delicious , a little bite of heaven within an outstanding breakfast! And if you feel like exploring, there is SO much to do! Sara went above and beyond organizing a beautiful boat ride and an unforgettable vineyard dinner for us. The Moncorvo village itself is a hidden treasure, home to 5 impressive museums and layers of fascinating history waiting to be discovered. You could easily spend days just soaking it all in. The room was a little sanctuary with great mattresses! I slept like a rock every night! And… 5 points for accessibility! The room is accessible from the ground floor, in the courtyard. The bathroom is equipped with accessible grab bars, and the main spaces on the 1st floor are accessible by elevator. 🤩 This was the perfect escape to restore my energy this summer. I will 100% be back and highly recommend it to anyone looking for a special, heartfelt experience!
