Saturday Sun Productions

Formed in March of 2018 by a group of individuals passionate about spreading Demetrius DuBose’s story through film, Saturday Sun Productions provides the support and services required by filmmakers to create and connect with audiences in new and impactful ways. Our website can be found below, which goes into detail about our mission, team members, and current projects.

Saturday Sun Productions is thrilled to partner with Lost Dreams, a non-profit organization committed to improving the quality of life for ex-athletes. The mission of Lost Dreams is to provide a framework of support and guidance for all those who are in the midst of a challenging life transition. As our fiscal sponsor, Lost Dreams allocates a percentage of the funds they raise for our production budgets, and in turn, a cut of the profits from our projects go back to the foundation. This creates a great symbiosis between the organizations, and gives us the opportunity to give back through our films. All contributions made to Lost Dreams are tax-deductible. Please see the website below for more information.

We are proud to announce we are near the completion of our first feature length documentary film, 'Demetrius DuBose, All American.' We were selected for the Tokyo Lift-Off Film Festival and Cinema Royale: Paris, finalists for best documentary at the JXN Film Festival and the Cleveland Arthouse Festival, and selected for best documentary at the 22nd annual SoCal Film Awards. We are currently awaiting word from other festivals on our list of submissions regarding acceptance status, and we're working hard to get this film distributed! We have one more polishing edit to go, and then we hope to be able to announce the details of our distribution deal. You can find more information on 'Demetrius DuBose, All American' on the film's website (linked below). If you would like to support 'Demetrius DuBose, All American' as we make the final push towards the finish line, you can make a contribution on our GoFundMe (also linked below), or contact John Kouris for producer-level contributions.

Our newest project, ‘93 Til Infinity: The Lost Champions of the 20th Century,' is structured as a multi-part series focusing on the 1993 Notre Dame Football Team told through the players themselves. They will tell the story of the season, and narrate their own history and experiences before, after, and during Notre Dame. Right now, we're focusing our efforts on pre-production and fundraising with the goal of beginning filming in early fall. We estimate the rough cost of the series to be around $1.2 mil. Want to get your name on this project? Any contribution made to our fiscal sponsor, Lost Dreams, of more than $10k will earn you a spot in the credits. Feel free to contact John Kouris for more information on earning your producer credit for this project. Smaller contributions are also vital to support the project, and will earn a special thanks. We appreciate every contribution, no matter the amount!

We are thrilled to announce our newest project, titled 'The Reign Man,' a feature-length documentary about the story of the larger-than-life basketball legend, Shawn Kemp. More info to come...
