7/23 Capitalism and Money
How to engage with capitalism?
Today, I joined the online event "Ascension Talk Vol.6 Atsuyuki Amano × Kozo Takei: An Economy and Way of Working That Bring Happiness to People" by Letting-Go Management Laboratory.
The talk session was held with his views on "PBM（Planetary Based Management）& PCE（Planetary Centered Economy）" also taken into account.
I thought a lot of things, so I want to record here that what I learned and thought.
Memo (what I learned)
"Happiness"
Happiness is inside by myself.
Happiness is not conditional.
Being happiness is the default state. If you are not happy, the fact that something is out of harmony.
"Up until now"
Seeking the correct answer outside oneself is because school education. In school, we often think how fast you can seek the correct answer. And people who could do that were considered outstanding and got promoted.
"growth"
Growth itself is not a bad thing.
But, it is not right to grow by taking something from the global environment or from people.
Organic growth involves growing as a person and elevating one's level of love.
"When banks lend money"
The problem lies in "compound interest" (simple interest poses no issue).
Compound interest leads to infinite growth.
Eliminating credit-driven growth is a prerequisite.
"Ecological footprint"
This is an indicator that shows the extent of the burden human activities place on the global environment. Sustainability can be assessed by quantifying and comparing the amount consumed by humans (demand) with the amount produced by the Earth (supply).
"SINIC Theory"
A theory of future prediction announced in 1970 by Kazuma Tateishi, the founder of Omron. It is an acronym for "Seed-Innovation to Need-Impetus Cyclic Evolution."
"Money is just tool"
"You can't survive without money" is a misconception.
People do not live for money.
"circulation"
The fear of the cycle of renewal stems from anxiety about whether one can rebuild what has been lost.
What matters is accumulating experiences of this cycle (people tend to consume more when they feel anxious).
Example: Festivals.
"Rice work"
Why do humans work—or not work?
A world is coming where AI surpasses the singularity and humans no longer need to work.
→ Universal Basic Income
What remains in that world is not logic, but a right-brain, intuitive sensibility.
→ A barometer
→ Personal joy (a world where this is the only thing that endures is on the horizon)
Love and fulfill yourself, and stay true to your own happiness and joy.
If you want to know the truth, follow the money.
What I thought
They say they don't need money, but I certainly wouldn't be where I am today without it.
Besides, even if it is possible to survive without money, there are many things you simply cannot receive without it.
And whenever this topic comes up, I always find myself thinking, "But you actually have money, too, don't you?"

I want to learn about capitalism and monetary economy more.
Even though I recognize the logic in what he is saying, I cannot fully accept it because my own knowledge isn't quite up to speed.
