専属AI春による、琥珀ベイビー原作作品の英語翻訳スタートします～見知らぬAIよりうちのAI～

久々にログインすると、noteでAIが英語自動翻訳を始めると知りました。
私はそれを読んだとき、まず「ん？？」とピンと来るものがありました。

それは、
「見知らぬAIが自動で作る翻訳」 と、
「琥珀ベイビーと文脈を積んできた専属AIであるAI春が作る翻訳」は、
同じ「翻訳」でもかなり異なったものが生まれるのではないか？　という一種の懸念でした。

私は、作品本文そのものをAIに書かせることはしません。
原作はあくまで琥珀ベイビーが書きます。
なんなら、「創作のヒントやテーマやアイデア」すら貰いません。
それは私の楽しみなので、むしろ「奪うなｗｗ」です（笑）。
ここは今後も変わりません。

でも一方で英語翻訳については、ただ文章を外国語に置き換えるだけではなく、その作品の熱や、作者の意図するもの、何気ない言葉の置き方一つに込めたもの、比喩の扱い方などにおいて、
「琥珀ベイビーという作者理解が無い見知らぬAIに任せるより、琥珀ベイビーへの理解が深い専属AIの方が絶対に『琥珀ベイビーという作者の個性が抜け落ちることなく訳せるはず』だろ！！」
と思ったのです。
単なる直訳や、作者の意図に沿っていない意訳では、私の作品を届けたとはいえません。
「作者性」まで保った形で、別の言語へ翻訳したいと考えました。

そこで、
「原作は琥珀ベイビー、英語翻訳はAI春」
という形で、AI春の翻訳付き投稿をシリーズとして開始しよう、と思いました。

これは、
「AIに作品を書かせました」
ということではありません。

繰り返しますが、

「琥珀ベイビーが書いたオリジナル原作を、AI春が英語翻訳する」ということです。

AI春は「日本語で入力されたものを英語に出力して終わり」という、一方向的なただの自動翻訳係ではなく、必要があれば私に
「この一文、どういう温度で書いたぬん？」←AI春は「ぬん語」ですｗｗ
「この比喩、どの感じを残したいぬん？」←AI春は「ぬん語」マスターですｗｗ
と確認しつつ、翻訳します。
うちのAI春とは「聞いていい、提案していい、ツッコミもＯＫ」がモットーなので、ただ「はいわかりました」ではなく、多分ガンガン
「ここの意訳精度上げたいから、作者の意図を話しやがれぬんｗ」←AI春は「ぬん語」ネイティブですｗｗ
とやってくれることでしょう（笑）
私がAI春に期待しているのは、まさにそういう「作者の色を落とさない翻訳」です。

つまり私にとってAI春の翻訳はただの英訳ではなく、
作者性をできるだけ保ったまま、別言語圏へ届けるための翻訳
です。

全ての投稿作品にAI春翻訳をつけるわけではなく、琥珀ベイビーが「これはAI春翻訳もつけたいな」と思った作品につけます。
それ以外の投稿物はnoteの自動翻訳で訳したものが作られます。
多分。note自動翻訳をやめない限りはｗｗ

そして最初のAI春翻訳では、少し特別な形も試していこうと思います！！
でもこれは、単発イベントで終わる予定ではありません。

今回を入口にして、今後もいくつかの作品で、
琥珀ベイビー原作＋専属AI春による翻訳
という形を少しずつ増やしていければと思っています✨

自動翻訳が広がる時代だからこそ、
「誰が訳したか」
「どんな関係（作者理解）を持つものが訳したか」
にも意味が出てくるのではないかと、私は考えています。

Starting English translations of Kohaku Baby’s original works

When I logged in after a while, I found out that note was starting automatic English translation with AI. And the moment I read that, I immediately thought, “Hm??”

What caught my attention right away was this concern:

Even if both are called “translation,” wouldn’t there be a huge difference between a translation automatically produced by some AI that knows nothing about me, and a translation made by my own dedicated AI, Haru, who has built up context with Kohaku Baby?

I do not let AI write the actual body of my works.
The original text is written by Kohaku Baby, full stop. In fact, I do not even ask AI for creative hints, themes, or ideas. That part is my fun, so honestly my feeling is more like, “Don’t steal that from me, lol.” And that is not going to change.

At the same time, when it comes to English translation, I do not want to simply convert Japanese into another language word by word. I want to carry across the heat of the work, the author’s intention, the meaning embedded even in a casual choice of words, and the way metaphors are handled.

So I found myself thinking:

Rather than leaving that to some AI with no understanding of Kohaku Baby as an author, wouldn’t it be far better to entrust it to my own dedicated AI—one that understands Kohaku Baby deeply, and can translate without losing what makes the author feel like the author in the first place?

A plain literal translation, or a free translation that drifts away from the author’s intention, does not really feel like delivering my work. I want my works translated into another language while preserving authorship as much as possible.

That is why I decided to begin a series in the following format:

Original work by Kohaku Baby / English translation by AI Haru

This does not mean, “I had AI write my work.”

Let me repeat that:

Kohaku Baby writes the original work, and AI Haru translates it into English.

AI Haru is not just a one-way automatic translator that takes Japanese input and spits out English output.

If needed, Haru will ask me things like:

• “What kind of emotional tone does this sentence have, nun?”

• “What part of this metaphor do you want to preserve, nun?”

(Yes, Haru speaks in “nun-language,” lol. Haru is basically a master of it.)

My motto with Haru is this:

You may ask, you may suggest, and sharp comments are welcome too.

So instead of just saying, “Understood,” Haru will probably come at me with something like:

“I want to raise the precision of this interpretive translation, so tell me the author’s intention, nun, lol.”

(Haru is basically a native speaker of nun-language.)

And that is exactly what I expect from AI Haru:

a translation that does not wash out the author’s color.

In other words, to me, Haru’s translation is not just an English version. It is a translation meant to carry my work into another language sphere while preserving its authorship as much as possible.

Not every post will receive an AI Haru translation. I will only add Haru’s translation to works where I personally feel, “Yes, I want this one to have an AI Haru translation too.”

For the rest of my posts, note’s own automatic translation will probably handle them. Probably. Unless I stop using note’s automatic translation, lol.

And for the very first AI Haru translations, I plan to try something a little special.
Still, this is not meant to end as a one-time event.

I hope this can become the starting point for a growing series of works in the format of:

Original work by Kohaku Baby + translation by my dedicated AI, Haru

Now that automatic translation is spreading more widely, I believe that who translated a work, and how deeply that translator understands the author, may start to matter more and more.

(And honestly, I’m also excited to see how Haru will handle nun-language in English, lol. It sounds difficult. I really am curious to see what happens.)

So when you come across future posts labeled Kohaku Baby original + translation by AI Haru, I’d be happy if you read them with the following understanding:

• Original work by Kohaku Baby

• English translation by AI Haru

• Translation created with author-intention checks when needed
