Jeff Montgomery
Jeff Montgomery founded the Triangle Foundation and led it until stepping down in 2007, a departure Pride Source marked with coverage of the Triangle dinner held as a tribute. Our reporting followed Montgomery through work on hate crimes, a Triangle partnership with U-M on a domestic violence survey, the push for a Ferndale human rights ordinance and a 2005 meeting between local LGBT leaders and Ford. After Montgomery's death at 63 in July 2016, we covered the memorial service where Montgomery was remembered as a "pioneer," a three-part Parting Glances remembrance, a one-year legacy tribute and the documentary set to kick off the 2020 Freep Film Festival before its premiere was postponed.
