Yeah, when TF2 came out all the TFC fans noticied the game were way diferent. Mainly because of the graphics that are cartoonish and lack of grenades.

It was even worst for me as main sniper/engineer, those two classes feels way off.

Having a "TF3" would be really nice, but unfortunately valve dont see much potential i guess? I dont think that will happen anytime soon. And to be honest i dont really wait for it, judging by how developers give no respect to the OG players they will probably make something even more off than TF2 is (compared to TFC).

Grenades were planned but ultimately removed from the game because playtesting showed that people relied too much on blind throwing grenades, could easily turn an area impossible to get to thanks to grenade spam and other balance issues.

For the graphics remember that back in 2007 FPS were realistic and dark looking military shooters (or Halo inspired sci fi) so Team Fortress 2 had to stand out visually (and boy it did, even today this game hasn't aged a bit compared to its contemporaries).

Sniper was modified to not make him too overpowered and Engineer has been repurposed as a class that manages turret placement like a RTS.

I expect to see either a Source 2 update for TF2 or a new IP.

Deadlock is basically their new take on team based multiplayer.
