🚇 Thailand’s Rail Transport Policy Committee has approved the latest M-Map 2 master plan, outlining 18 new rail projects covering 265 km. Once completed, Bangkok’s rail network would expand from 279 km to 544 km. The plan will now be submitted to the Cabinet for approval.

This was my third visit to the Red Lotus Sea, aka Talay Bua Daeng in Udon Thani. However, now that Lisa has been here, I'm guessing it's going to get much more crowded in the future. (Thankfully, it wasn't the day that I went.)

After many years and virtually every island in Thailand visited, I think I'm ready to declare it: Koh Lipe is the best one. And I'm not sure it's particularly close.

On the other hand, I do think Koh Chang has one advantage against Koh Kood: No one is hyping it. Whereas, in the case of Koh Kood, you'd think from all the drone videos online that it was the Maldives. And look, it's pretty. But not really worth the hassle of getting there.

I wish I could tell you that going back to Koh Chang yet again made me see something in the island I hadn't previously noticed. It's not a terrible place, of course, but it will never be my favorite.
