We have been anxiously waiting to find out who our next Princess Kay of the Milky Way will be.

With the start of the Minnesota State Fair, we finally know!

73RD PRINCESS KAY OF THE MILKY WAY CROWNED

Jena Hanson from Owatonna is our new Princess Kay, representing Steele County. Jena is 20 years old and was chosen to be our ambassador for the Minnesota Dairy Industry. The dairy ambassador is chosen based on their knowledge of the dairy industry and their personality.

Jena, ironically, didn't grow up on a farm, but loves the relationships that dairy farmers have with one another.

CONGRATULATIONS TO ALL THE FINALISTS

Stearns County was also well represented as our very own Isabella Schiffler and Jaiden Smith were chosen as the runners-up this year. Congratulations to all three of these young, inspiring women.

NO REST FOR THE CROWNED

Now that she has been crowned, there's no time to rest. Jena starts her reign as Princess Kay immediately. Her first duty? A butter carving.

SCULPTED IN BUTTER

Every woman who runs for Princess Kay dreams of one day having their likeness carved in butter at The Great Minnesota Get Together.

That will be Jena's first task as Princess Kay. If you are going to the fair today or Friday, you just might see Jena sitting in a frigid cooler at the Minnesota State Fair, where a talented butter sculptor will be recreating her image in butter that she will probably be able to take home after the fair. That ought to be enough butter to last a few years!

Of course, other finalists will be in the cooler eventually this year, as they all get their butter sculptures each year.
