A Game Changer for My Workspace!
Reviewed in the United States on February 17, 2025I’ve been using the Apple Magic Keyboard with Numeric Keypad for a few weeks now, and I’m honestly blown away by how much it has improved my typing experience. As someone who works on both my Mac and iPad regularly, the wireless Bluetooth connection makes it super easy to switch between devices. No more fumbling with wires or constantly having to reconnect—it just works.
The keys are smooth, quiet, and responsive, which has made typing a breeze, even during long sessions. The additional numeric keypad is a huge bonus for anyone who does a lot of data entry or works with numbers—it really speeds things up.
The rechargeable battery is fantastic, and I love not having to worry about swapping out batteries all the time. The build quality is solid, and as with most Apple products, it just feels premium and sleek. It also pairs effortlessly with my iPhone when I need to use it on the go.
Overall, this keyboard has been an amazing addition to my setup. If you're looking for a reliable, high-quality wireless keyboard for your Apple devices, I highly recommend this one!

Luxurious Keyboard
Reviewed in the United States on October 31, 2023This Apple keyboard is luxurious. It feels good, it looks good, it's quiet, and it is reliable. It is not, however, waterproof. This purchase was to replace a keyboard I damaged with spilled liquid.
I love having the numeric keypad as I use it frequently. Note this does not have Touch ID. Bluetooth connectivity to my iMac is never an issue. I have an older spare of this same keyboard I use for other things, mainly connecting to my tv (I hate having to use a remote control to enter passwords!) and my iPhone (I equally hate thumb texting!). I can always check the state of the charge of the keyboard through my iMac, though my iMac will tell me when I need to charge it. I think I charge it once every two or three months, taking probably two to three hours for a full charge.
There are other keyboards available for the Mac, but this one works just fine as long as you keep liquids out of it! I would recommend this keyboard.

The best keyboard ever made
Reviewed in the United States on September 7, 2024Okay, I should qualify that headline as "The Best Keyboard ever Made for the Mac!"
But I have never used a better keyboard for *any* computer, and I've used a LOT of keyboards over the years.
As a bluetooth connected device, you might fear that you can out-pace the connection and experience dropped keystrokes. But no, it doesn't ever seem to do that. I am a very fast typist and have never had that problem.
Knowing Apple, this is not just a simple tap-transmit-wait-for-next-tap type of device. It probably buffers your keystrokes and transmits them, verifying each one with an acknowledgement from the host computer. That's the way I would design it, and it seems to do that.
Just talking as a user, I find it very nice and easy to type on. The numeric keypad is also nice-to-have especially if you tend to enter lots of numerical data, for example in a spreadsheet.
The keyboard usually lasts me about two weeks between charges, sometimes as long as a month, depending on usage. Over time, the battery gets weaker, as with all such rechargeable devices.
I will mention that this keyboard is a replacement for one I got four years ago, which had an arrow key die. I need the keyboard badly so I just went ahead and ordered one without trying to repair the key. I did pry the key cap off and apply some alcohol, hoping it would fix an oxidized connection, but no luck. These keyboards are not really reparable beyond an occasional air blowout or suction (use your handheld vacuum to pull out the dust, hairs etc. from time to time).
The one thing I'm doing differently with this keyboard is that I put on a thin keyboard cover, also purchased here on Amazon for a few dollars, to try to minimize dust and other particles accumulating. It protects against coffee spills etc. as well. It somewhat reduces the accuracy of typing, but the payoff is that the keyboard will likely last longer and require less cleaning. A tradeoff.
I can recommend this keyboard to anyone working with a Mac, either desktop or laptop; it will increase your productivity and is a joy to use.

Second best keyboard I've ever used
Reviewed in the United States on May 18, 2023Actually... it may be the very best. For almost 40 years, I've considered the "gold standard" of computer keyboards to be the mechanical keyboards that shipped with original IBM computers in the 80s. I cut my teeth, so to speak, on one of those keyboards, and every last keyboard I had used since then fell miserably short, regardless of who made it or how much it sold for. Not even other mechanical keyboards were a match for that beauty.
When I lost the battery compartment cap to my old A1242 keyboard I'd used every day for almost 15 years, I decided it was time to just replace the keyboard. It had been dropped and banged around so many times, the arrow keys and right Option key didn't work half the time, and feeding it 3 AA batteries every two weeks (every 7-10 days when I was using rechargeable batteries) was just not working anymore in an age where everything is rechargeable.
I decided to go big and got the full-size, and I'm SO glad I did, because it let me assign functions to all those extra function keys. For example, I use hit F13 to show all windows, F14 for application windows, and F15 for desktop.
The battery lasts quite a bit longer than the disposable batteries in the A1242. I got almost a full month out of the first full charge, without turning it off when not in use.
But most importantly? The FEEL! These keys feel just right under my fingers. They have just the right amount of travel distance when pressed. The right resistance against my fingers. Just the right size. This keyboard is just RIGHT in every regard. So right, it leaves me puzzled, wondering how the same company that created this work of art was also responsible for creating that abomination they passed off as a keyboard on my early 2019 MacBook Pro.
Well... At least they got it right this time! And, when I consider the difference in clacking noise between this keyboard and the IBM mechanical that I also love, this one may just come out ahead after all.

FINALLY! Wireless 10-Key for the Mac!
Reviewed in the United States on July 6, 2017Apple FINALLY listened to its business customers and brought us the Magic Keyboard WITH 10-Key. I've been a Mac user for years now and always wanted to be able to use a wireless keyboard. Unfortunately, after trying both the Logitech K750 for Mac and the Kanex MultiSync Aluminum Mac Keyboard with lackluster results, I figured it was a lost cause as Apple's Magic Keyboard didn't include the 10-Key. Then last week I learned about this one and picked one up. Here are my thoughts:
Pros:
1) It has the solid look and feel that the original Magic Keyboard has. That's a huge plus as others I've tried have been flimsy.
2) The internal battery is rechargeable via the Lightning port on the back. That's perfect since it's the same cable used by the iPhone.
3) It's very lightweight - only about 1lb.
4) Since it's made by Apple, all of the function keys operate like they're supposed to (that's not the case with aftermarket keyboards as they're not allowed to access those parts of MacOS).
5) It doesn't have the keystroke lag that other aftermarket keyboards have.
6) It doesn't have the wake-from-sleep issue that other aftermarket keyboards have.
Cons:
1) It took way to long for Apple to release this
2) The price. MSRP of $130 is steep. But, being an Apple user, I wasn't surprised.
3) It's only available in the aluminum/white color scheme. Since the vast majority of Apple computers are the MacBook, it would be nice if it were available in aluminum/black (as well as the other new MacBook color schemes).
Overall, I'm very pleased with mine and plan to buy more as needed.

**A Must-Have Keyboard for Any Apple User!**
Reviewed in the United States on September 5, 2024The **Apple Magic Keyboard with Numeric Keypad** has been a game-changer for my daily computer use! First, the sleek, minimalistic design fits perfectly with my Apple setup, whether I'm using it with my Mac, iPad, or even my iPhone. The wireless Bluetooth connection is seamless, and I love how it pairs instantly across all my Apple devices.
One of the best features is the numeric keypad. It makes tasks like data entry, spreadsheets, and even simple calculations so much faster and more efficient. The key response is crisp and smooth, offering a comfortable typing experience that minimizes fatigue even after hours of use. Plus, the extended layout with extra function keys adds even more convenience for shortcuts and productivity.
The fact that it’s rechargeable is another huge plus. The battery life is incredible—I’ve gone weeks without needing to charge it. And when I do, the charging is quick and easy via the included Lightning cable. The keyboard’s slim profile and lightweight build also make it easy to move around my workspace without any hassle.
For anyone who spends a lot of time on their computer, whether for work or personal use, this keyboard is an essential tool. It’s reliable, efficient, and truly elevates the typing experience. Highly recommend!

At First, I Thought I Received a Defective Keyboard!
Reviewed in the United States on December 26, 2019When I received the keyboard, it was still in a brand new box, plastic still completely intact, all items present (keyboard, USB-C charging cable, literature, packaging), no signs of damage, etc. I literally received a brand new, never-been-used keyboard (on sale, no less - saved me $40 off normal retail!). I charged it up to 100%, which didn't take long, since it arrived with a 76% charge already in place, added it to the active Bluetooth devices running on my MacBook, and set to work.
It wasn't until a couple of days later while working on an Excel spreadsheet and entering a formula that I typically turn on the Caps Lock key to do that I recognised a problem: the Caps Lock light that tells you whether it's currently active or not didn't work. I pressed it numerous times to see if maybe something wiggled loose, but that didn't fix it. Then, I tried powering off the keyboard and turning back on via the toggle switch on the back face of the keyboard to see if it resolved the issue, and lo and behold, it's now completely operational. Odd, but I'm grateful to discover this little fix!
If you receive a new Apple keyboard and the Caps Lock button indicator isn't working, you may want to give this a try before shipping it back for an exchange or refund! Glad something so simple could fix an otherwise-annoying issue!
The quality of this keyboard is completely up to Apple's standards - responsive keys that are simultaneously tactile and quiet, superlative battery life, hefty build quality out of real aluminum (instead of silver-coloured plastic the knockoffs use), immediate response when it's been left idle for awhile, etc., etc. - absolutely everything you expect Apple to produce for the money we spend on their products.
In spite of the little glitch initially experienced when using this particular keyboard for the first time, I would not hesitate to buy it again should the need ever arise, but considering the quality of Apple products, I sincerely doubt it will ever need replacing as a result of anything but accidental damage on my part.

Best keyboard I ever used, but ...
Reviewed in the United States on July 13, 2024I type faster on this keyboard than any other I've had. The aesthetic feeling of typing literally because a pleasure. The fact it looks so clean and is made from aluminium with shiny glassy bottom is a plus too.
The fact that it's SO much better than any other keyboard forces it to get 5 stars in spite of some minor caveats and gripes:
1. It's flat. If you're like me and want the keyboard angled up to your fingers, you're going to have to invest in some aftermarket feet. Get some nice matching aluminium ones and you'll be happy.
2. It charges with Lightning Port cable (included). Time to go to USB-C please, Apple.
3. This model does NOT have TouchID. If you want to use Apple Pay, you'll have to pull out your phone to confirm the purchase that you're making on your Mac's Safari browser. You'll also have to type your password when you wake it from sleep. So think about if you want to pay $55 extra or whatever for that good and hard. I thought I didn't but now I kinda wish I did.
Even so, all of that is minor compared to the best keyboard I've ever typed on. And wow does it have amazing battery life. Get this or the one with TouchID and you'll be happy.

Drummer Boy5 out of 5 starsIt’s worth getting the real deal, you will not disappointed!
Reviewed in Canada on January 12, 2022As a Mac using like yourself, I thought, “there’s gotta be a dupe” or “something similar, but cheaper” and I’m here to tell you that this is the real deal and the only keyboard you should consider.
Before this, I bought a price-friendly keyboard and lo and behold it was cheaply made, had serious connectivity issues, and crapped out altogether - leading me to this keyboard. I said, enough is enough. I figured I’d rather spend a bit more money on a product that is literally BUILT to connect with my other Apple products and is MADE to last rather than some off-brand keyboard that becomes more of a short-term investment than a long-term one.
I have had no issues at all, it has truly been such a breath of fresh air to use and has genuinely made me happy (considering how terrible my previous one was). If you are considering this over the off-brand ones, go with your gut . Bite the bullet and spend a bit more for the real deal - you will not be disappointed.
As an avid Mac user, this is an amazing keyboard, so so so happy with my purchase. And you will be too!

Ottawa Valley RV5 out of 5 starsWorks as intended
Reviewed in Canada on February 8, 2024This is a very good keyboard. I tried the mini but that was a mistake.
This one provides the space needed so that I'm not tripping over my fingers.
Being an Apple product it seamlessly synced with my Macbook.
if looking for a negative it would have to be that it has to sit flat on my desk whereas I'd have liked if I could tilt it upwards like conventional keyboards.
Delivery was swift thanks.
It's pretty easy to clean with a damp cloth when the keyboard is off.
The battery is quite amazing. I charged it a month ago and it is still fully functional. I do shut it off at days end but still it's quite awesome.
I'd but it again if I needed to.

Reviewed in Canada on April 6, 2023Heard that MX disconnects at times. This wont as its apple and apple works with apple. Simple as that. Yes. There is no backlight on keys but who cares. Im not planning on using this in the dark. Who does? Overall quality good. It comes with a USB-C to USB cable
First time users - Turn on bluetooth on computer and then turn on on switch along top right edge. You should see a window say your keyboard is connected.
if not. use the cable then do it.
Worked for me.
