The Snoppa Atom Gimble is actually pretty cool! I own a $75 one at home but i think this $150 investment is definitely the move.

PROS: All you have to do is unlock both of the motors and pop your phone in. It folds up so its super compact and its easier for travel. You just have to put your phone in the center and when you turn on the app and calibrate it, it will automatically balance on its own. One of my favorite things is that it has wireless charging(so I don't have to worry about my phone dying while on the go) and the customizable buttons where I can switch between front and back camera, wirelessly charge it, rotate it 180 degrees, and more!

CONS: At first, it is kind of confusing to use, but after downloading the app and watching more videos on youtube, it was easier to get the hang of it. One annoying thing is that sometimes it would just turn 180 automatically without me pressing anything but that might have to do with me accidentally pressing things.

Overall, I think it is definitely worth every cent!

I bought this item on 9/13/20 so all I have done with it is the calibration and setting of the buttons. I highly recommend watching all of the videos !!! Because there are steps you will need to take before even turning it on, in order for your Atom to work properly for you. I will be practicing with it sometime this week and will update this review. But the selling points for me were... (1) payload/weight it can hold w/o damage to motors. (2) auto calibration and on average the app was simple enough to use once you watch the videos. (3) overall capabilities that other gimbles didn't have.

I have one con so far, the grips that hold the phone are very short and just barely reach over my phone (I have Samsung s9). I plan on getting a sticky pad to some how keep my phone attached to the Atom (its a pad you can sit on your dash and sit your phone on it a it won't move while you drive and it is easily removable) I figure that might help prevent any chance of my phone flying off in the event that the Atom goes a little wonky (like I have read in other reviews) I'll keep you posted on the outcome 😊

A couple of things I got stuck on. I thought picture when you start the Snoopa app was a marketing splash screen to see all their products. Its not! For the life of me I could not get the app to connect to stabilizer. After a day of trying I just happened to flip through all of the products and selected the Atom and bang it worked. Next day I turned it on again, the default picture is not my product, and it went back to not working. Selected the correct product and it work. They must have update the software because now when I turn it on it flips to the correct product automatically. Well that's behind me.

Next issue it is not made for the Pro Max because the extended camera lense hits one of the gimbal points and as soon as it does the unit turns off to protect itself. A work around is to NOT to mount the phone in the middle (balanced) and move it to the sides so the lense of the camera misses the gimbal point. Using the leveling app will work fine with the phone askew.

The other issue is the that you can't use your phone's protective cover with the gimbal. It is made for a bare IPhone as the protective cover pushes the phone out where the grips can't get fully around the edge of the cover. Don't try it, as you may think it worked and then your phone ends up on the floor. LOL I created a work around by cutting out of the back of my plastic cover, slighting bigger than the charging pad of the gimbal. Works great except you have to make sure you do it at an offset so the camera lense won't hit the gimbal point.

I bought this 2 days before a big car show so I can record some vlog content and had about 4 hours of practice prior. Simply put, this thing is WORTH the money. It has wireless charging built into the mount and has silent stabilizing motors.

The software is Apple friendly and allows for intuitive use without fumbling through menus. I was confused on how this gimbal offered so many features, but then I realized it’s all controlled through the app.

The controls are a easy to use, besides the zoom/focus one. It’s difficult to use with one hand since it’s a low profile button. If it was a notch or located elsewhere, it’d be perfect, but you can manually focus, which is great.

Stabilization is great, the gimbal reads your phone’s gyroscope and instantly compensates without delay. The only issue is how small the arms are. Once you turn the gimbal past a certain point on any axis, it’ll spazz out until you re-orient. A pain for low angle shots, but I’ve learned to rotate the handle to get nice pans.

You definitely want to hook up an external microphone since the iPhone mic is terrible for forward facing recording, but there’s no hot shoe to do so, so you’re stuck holding or clipping a mic on. You connect a short cable to the base to your phone then you get a 3.5mm output at the handle.

This gimbal is a game changer as it fills the mid-point market between junk and pro-level gimbals.

This is my favorite gimbal. I have purchased 4 this far and I have to say hands down this one did what “I” needed. The main point for me is that I have a Galaxy Note 9 in a pelican case. I didn’t have to remove the case to use it. Just out the phone in and boom!! No balancing it was just ready to use. I get great content. It even handled the wait of using a lense without counter weight. For the price this is it!! I’m pleased! I have the G6 max, isteadyx and vlog pocket(don’t waste your money on that one). I selling the others since this one will also take the GoPro plate. Now just one thing is all I need. I’m trying to do away with the heavy gear bag because I have a bad back injury. The wireless charging for my phone is everything!! I love it!

I have many of these as I do a lot of YouTubing but this was by far one of my favs. The others could not do as well but the only issue is this one did not last as long as the others. My snoppa is going on 4 years, others are hitting 2 years. This I've used slightly over a year and every main function is now broken. It cant hold a mobile steady, the vertical mode is not working etc. I would say if you need something short term its awesome but long term I'm unsure

as photography lover, this Gimbal is Gold for me, mind blowing features such as slow motion, skin smooth, Auto calibration,night mode, light field, object track, face track, static time-lapse, motion time-lapse slow motion. ..., even more then what i need as an amateur, battery life is too long, it even has wireless charging on it, so it could be used as a powerbank, has an app equipped with a tutorial for an easy use. this thing is amazing.

Es el gimbal más completo de los que he probado hasta ahora pues este tiene un modo llamado sudoku que, para mi gusto, queda mejor que una panorámica ya que no distorsiona la foto; lo único malo es que tarda un poco más en grabar estas fotos.

Me gusta que sea plegable ya que eso hace más fácil llevarlo a cualquier lado. Es muy fácil de desplegar y manejar.

Tiene un botón en el lateral para programar; yo le he puesto para hacer la foto con la cámara trasera o delantera del móvil. Se puede poner vertical u horizontal con solo tocar un botón y eso es de agradecer porque he probado otro con el que tenía que hacerlo de forma manual.

Es muy estable grabando y tanto el vídeo como las fotos las guarda con muy buena resolución.

También funciona desde la aplicación de la cámara del móvil, aunque no tiene las mismas prestaciones que desde la app del gimbal.

Stabilizzatore molto bello e ben fatto, unico nel suo genere per portabilità. La sua caratteristica principale è infatti quella di poter essere chiuso con gli assi bloccati, diventando molto piccolo e compatto, tanto da poterlo trasportare in tasca.

Lo stabilizzatore funziona molto bene riesce a rendere molto fluide le riprese e stabilizza tutti i movimenti mentre camminiamo. Veramente comodo al possibilità di ruotare velocemente lo smartphone per poterlo mettere in verticale o orizzontale semplicemente ruotando il telefono oppure premendo un tasto sull’impugnatura. Questa caratteristica unita alla portabilità e alla possibilità di collegare un microfono esterno lo rendono a mio avviso uno tra i migliori gimbal per i vlogger o per chi vuole uno stabilizzatore da usare nei propri viaggi o durante le vacanze.

Un’altra caratteristica molto interessante è la possibilità di ricaricare lo smartphone con il gimbal mentre lo si sta utilizzando con una ricarica wireless quindi senza la necessità di collegare nessun cavo, basta semplicemente premere un pulsante.

Lo stabilizzatore è fatto molto bene ha un buon grip, è comodo e leggero da usare. Ci sono molti tasti sul manico che sono direttamente collagati con l’applicazione Snoppa. L’app funziona bene, ha tante funzioni e impostazioni che la rendono molto completa. Mi è piaciuta molto la possibilità di poter programmare alcuni tasti, una caratteristica che pochi gimbal hanno.

Nell’applicazione possiamo scegliere tra diverse modalità, dai normali video, ai time lapse statici , quelli in movimento, il traking di un oggetto, una funzione che permette di selezionare un oggetto e il gimbal cercherà di seguirne i movimenti. Funziona abbastanza bene a patto che lo sfondo abbia una tinta unita e l’oggetto sia ben definito altrimenti perderà il target. C’è anche il face target che riconosce e segue i volti e risulta molto utile per quando ci si inquadra in prima persona.

Questo gimbal lo trovo un ottimo stabilizzatore soprattutto per le sue caratteristiche uniche, la sua portabilità e le sue dimensioni cosi ridotte lo rendono perfetto da usare durante i viaggi e le vacanze. La ricarica wireless e la possibilità di programmare i tasti sono altre caratteristiche veramente interessanti. Ottimo anche per i vlogger grazie alla possibilità di usare un microfono esterno. Bisogna prenderci un po’ la mano per via di qualche limitazione dei movimenti come detto, ma è sicuramente un gimbal molto valido e interessante, con un buon rapporto qualità prezzo

Premetto che non sono uno che ne sa molto di riprese, è il mio primo gimbal. La stabilità mi sembra ottima, la calibrazione si effettua automaticamente, però le riprese dal basso sono difficili da fare, perché poi se si vuole passare da una ripresa bassa a una alta devi fare dei movimenti stani o forse sono io che non so come farli in modo normale. L'applicazione è molto carina ma un po' complessa all'inizio, se è la prima volta ci si deve stare un bel po' per iniziare a impostare bene per permettere delle riprese normali. Il peso è abbastanza elevato, ma dato la qualità del materiale, i vari motorini e la batteria che dura tantissimo e può fare anche da powerbank credo che vada abbastanza bene. La molteplicità delle impostazione e degli accessori che si possono aggiungere aumenta la complessità, ma anche le possibilità di realizzare filmati incredibili. Non credo che sia adatto a dei novizi.

Al principio no lo use mucho porque me cuadró en un viaje pero cuando me puse a usarlo un poquito resulta que tiene un fallo en el botón de encendido. No lo he devuelto porque ya había pasado mucho tiempo y porque funciona igual pero tengo que tener cuidado de que no se caiga.

Tampoco es que sea muy fácil de usar, he leído un par de veces el libro de instrucciones y o estoy haciendo algo mal o no entiendo bien alguna de sus instrucciones.

I bought this for a work trip to China and was bored of taking photos so I thought I'd make a video. The stabilisation is really good and it's easy to tell the difference in the video when using this gimbal compared to going 'freehand'. My only gripe is there is limited movement in the up/down direction so you have to hold it horizontally if you want to take that kind of shot. But it is very compact compared to other models so it was great for traveling.
