Product Description
The Bose TV Speaker helps you hear your TV better. It’s a small sound bar that clarifies speech and improves overall TV sound. Inside the TV speaker there are two full-range drivers angled to deliver wide, spacious sound and a center tweeter specifically focused on elevating vocals. Built-in Dolby decoding helps further enhance this compact TV speaker’s audio capabilities to deliver a more realistic and satisfying listening experience. Designed with simplicity in mind, this small soundbar only uses a single connection to the TV via an optical audio cable (included) or an HDMI cable (sold separately) and has you up and running in minutes. At just over 2" tall, the Bose TV Speaker is a compact sound bar that can be placed just about anywhere. And small LED lights on the front of this small soundbar turn on and/or change color for visual confirmation when certain features are enabled. They also blink in acknowledgement of volume changes. The Bose TV Speaker has HDMI-CEC, which allows the TV and this small soundbar to communicate when connected with an HDMI cable. Meaning when you turn the TV on, the TV speaker will automatically turn on too. With this technology, you can even keep using your current TV remote to control the volume of this compact soundbar. However, the Bose TV Speaker comes with its own remote. And on it, you can enable “dialogue mode” on the TV speaker to elevate vocals even more or press the “bass” button for some extra depth. This compact soundbar also is a Bluetooth soundbar. Simply press the Bluetooth button on the remote to pair your device to this Bluetooth TV speaker and wirelessly stream your favorite music or podcasts. You can also expand your system at any time by adding a wired subwoofer to the Bluetooth TV speaker for a more home-theater-like experience. The Bose TV Speaker is compatible with the Bose Bass Module 500 and 700 and requires the Bose Bass Module Connection Cable or a standard 3.5 mm audio cable, sold separately.

Nice speaker
Reviewed in the United States on December 21, 2024Normally I consume audio using my Bose QuietComfort 20 noise-canceling earbuds. I've been using those for about six years now, and I used Bose noise canceling headphones before that. I've always loved them so much that I've never really had much need for PC speakers. So the ones I always used to use cost about 40 dollars. But recently a friend convinced me to get this Bose TV Speaker Soundbar, for my PC.
It was effortless to install. I just plugged the optical into my motherboard, which is 4 years old. So I doubt anyone will have issues plugging this in. I don't know how to scientifically measure the quality of a speaker. I listened to a 20khz sine wave frequency sweep, and I believe I heard all the tones, and there weren't any dips that I could perceive. Beyond that, I could say that I tried listening to a YouTube video that I had previously only listened to on speakers, many times. And after listening to that same song using this soundbar, I was able to hear parts of the song I hadn't heard before.
The only issue I had with this device is that it turns itself off automatically. So every time I'd go to bed, or take a nap, I'd wake up and have to press the darn button on the remote again. This was frustrating since the speaker takes about 2-3 seconds to boot up. So usually I'd play a YouTube video, realize the sound isn't on, wait for it to boot, and then need to rewind the video. THANKFULLY there's a simple solution I learned about on Reddit for solving this! All I needed to do was (1) turn it on, and (2) hold the power button down on the remote for 5 seconds. Then the LED on the speaker pulsed an amber color, which indicates that "auto off" has been disabled. Hooray! I wish this had been the factory default though.

Great!
Reviewed in the United States on October 9, 2026October 2026: We blew out the speakers on our TV so purchased this Bose unit during Amazon's Prime Days event. It arrived last night and we are very pleased. It has a nice warm sound quality with the ability to adjust the bass frequency. And it gets loud. The only "negative" thing, I wish it had the ability to pair with the TVs remote. Now we have three remotes to deal with: TV, internet box and the sound bar. I recommend this sound bar.

Decent mini soundbar
Reviewed in the United States on January 15, 2026Pros
- compact, good size for a 40-55" TV
- better sound than most built in TV speakers I've heard; not going to fool you into being in a theater without a sub or surrounds, but not meant to, so does the job it was built for
- mostly easy setup, plug and play with a Samsung LCD TV from 2022
- does not require much space - good for bedroom TV or guest room TV
Why not five stars?
- power cable is way too short and plugs in at one side of back instead of center, making setup and positioning a pain
- white power led on front is distracting
- no bundled HDMI cable for eARC
- remote uses coin battery instead of more common AAA
- rubber feed to prevent vibration only at two sides, needed to add a middle foot to prevent rattle against TV stand since the stand was narrower than the speaker - otherwise I would need to position it well in front of the TV taking up more space
- could do without silver Bose logo on top/front for a cleaner look - maybe make it gray or black
- remote's "Bass" button has no visible or on screen feedback or menu to tell if it's on or off that I can find, and audio isn't different enough except for high volume movies to notice

Difficult to set up with TV.
Reviewed in the United States on September 15, 2026As a bluetooth speaker for our phones, it is wonderful. As a TV soundbar for our older Sharp TV, it's a nightmare. The only feedback to using the remote is a small LED light on the front.
I'll struggle with it a few more days but will probably end up returning it. Too bad; I love Bose speakers
Update: my Sharp is too old to interface with this Bose TV Speaker. I connected it to my iMac via Bluetooth. Great sound!

Not Worth It!!
Reviewed in the United States on February 28, 2024This Bose TV Speaker has pretty good sound quality for the tv because it does sound better than the tv speakers and better volume and the speech is a little clearer, but that's about as far as it goes.
I purchased this sound bar after looking at many, but mostly because I have been a Bose fan for many decades and in the days of them becoming to where they are now everything was exceptional until I received this product.
Bose dropped the ball on this one and seem to be living now off their name of top-quality products and service in the past and you know what starts to happen when you cut back on the quality, you start to lose your long time customers and no repurchase's from most new ones so business starts to decline, and we all know what has happened to big companies in the past. You charge high dollars so put back in the quality you use too.
For two days I have been trying to get a simple question answered from them and no response.
After purchasing this product, I have come to realize the only subwoofer I can add to this sound bar which has poor bass, is programed only for their brand, and their cheapest woofer starting at $500.00 plus, that is ridicules.
The Bluetooth is version is 4.2, that came out around 2011 or 12 so outdated, much cheaper brands even have the newer versions, heck the remote is not even Bluetooth! You have to make sure no other devices have Bluetooth on to connect to a single device you want par and listen two, a lot of others allow two at once so you can switch back and forth.
There is absolutely no way to turn on or control the sound bar if you lose the remote, battery goes bad or if the remote goes bad, but we all know that does not happen now does it?
For a 300-dollar soundbar especially from Bose I expected more, half was for the name and the other half for the actual worth of the unit and to get more bass I need to spend over $500.00 more when other top brand units come with a sound bar for under $300.00. I should be able to connect other subwoofer brands to this unit but from all my checking only a couple of people have gotten lucky, I have two and neither one will work with this unit when I connected them, so It's kind of like I gotcha from Bose if you want to upgrade your sound bar for $500.00 plus more to Bose.
Yes, looks like this one is going back to Bose.
Update: I decided to keep the speaker even as disappointed as I am with this so outdated speaker and mine was made in 2023 and then 28 days after using it just stopped working after being on for about a hour and a half, it only blinks the two lights white 3 times and turns the tv side light green and does this over and over again and will not turn off unless you unplug it, plug it back up and light off a couple of minutes then automatically turns back on and starts the same process over and over, So much for quality Bose I did not even get a months' worth of use and thank goodness I had two days left to return, never again for me Bose. Service is nonexistent never got a answer for a simple question I sent earlier so just imagine how it is with a real problem.

Finally, a simple solution to the madhouse of audio alternatives for television
Reviewed in the United States on August 28, 2023I had a Bose one piece sound system many years ago. Really enjoyed it. It eventually gave up so I started down the dark hole of soundbars. In about 10 years I've had 3 and with each one there was always something that wouldn't sound right, mainly when someone talks and there's music in the background, only the music that's supposed to hang back instead blares like a foghorn and drowns out the dialogue. I have to admit the last one, a Vizio, soundbar only, no subwoofer or surround speakers, did it's best to keep the dialogue to within reach. It's main issue was it wouldn't cooperate with a Vizio TV, wouldn't maintain a setting if you had the ability to pay it. So, I'm back to the simple Bose TV Speaker. Ya got two settings, bass and dialogue. There are others but they don't involve audio. It plugs into my Vizio TV via HDMI eARC (cable not included), but it does come with an optical cable and I plugged it in but isn't required. ARC allows my TV remote and Fire Stick remote to control the soundbar volume which is the only thing you really need to control once you set the soundbar with it's own remote to be controlled by other devices and the sound setting you like (your choice of two or both at the same time, why not go for it). I can hear music, I can hear voices, I can hear them both at the same time and anyone who says you need a small room to use it in is probably wanting more than the bar can deliver regarding audio. It's plenty loud. Where I sit fairly far from the TV and the room is kind of open concept leading to not open concept, like rooms elsewhere. I can hear it through out the house. Good bass too. Okay I said two settings but the bass actually has 3 levels. The longest portion of the entire setup from unpacking to connection and listening was the unpacking. It's packed pretty well. Good things come in small packages they say, this is one of them. I recommend this to anyone who doesn't require sound bouncing from the holes in their shoes and from the coffee mug sitting beside them. It's a great sounding speaker that removes the requirement of having to take a course or two in sound engineering and makes listening to TV simple and comfortable and enjoyable again, you don't have to constantly change the audio settings to work with the video. It just works.

INSANELY good for a small office/bedroom
Reviewed in the United States on August 6, 2026I was looking for a small home office set up (10 X 12 room) and wanted something that was uncomplicated but also sounded really good given the room size. It's used primarily for music, but I'm often in meetings with up to 20 other people, so I wanted something with a voice clarity option. I figured I was going to have to sacrifice one for the other, but the speaker really delivers! What was most amazing to me was the level and quality of bass, which I didn't think was possible with a standalone sound bar, and a small sound bar at that. When I bought this, I also bought the bass module 500 which I've since returned, as it was completely unnecessary. The speaker produces a very balanced soundstage. I placed the soundbar across two studio monitor speaker stands with a 15 degree tilt, super highly recommended if you're planning to use this for a home office solution. This is absolutely not a speaker as a standalone in a larger room, but it's perfect for a small space. No subwoofer needed. You can literally feel the bass.

Andrew Plaza5 out of 5 starsGreat sound for the room — simple, reliable upgrade
Reviewed in Canada on January 26, 2026I picked up the Bose TV Speaker to replace my old CineMate Bose system that finally died, and so far it’s been an excellent, hassle-free replacement. Setup was plug-and-play with my existing Bose TV’s optical out and it started working immediately. I haven’t used the Dialogue Enhancer feature, but even without it the speaker delivers clear, natural-sounding audio that suits my room very well.
The unit is compact but sounds bigger than it looks. The bass has respectable weight for such a small speaker — not a home-theatre rumble, but enough to give action scenes and music some presence. The included remote is simple and intuitive, and overall build quality feels solid and understated like other Bose products.
Pros:
- Smooth setup — truly plug-and-play
- Clear, balanced sound that fits the room nicely
- Compact footprint; good for smaller living areas or bedrooms
- Solid build and easy-to-use remote
Cons:
- Not a substitute for a full surround system if you want immersive multi-channel audio
- Won’t match a dedicated subwoofer for deep bass
Would recommend if you want an easy, reliable upgrade from an older compact Bose unit — great for improving everyday TV sound without fuss.

david silburt5 out of 5 starsBig beautiful Bose sound
Reviewed in Canada on July 5, 2026This is a truly excellent product that fully lives up to expectations. The sound is big and the complexity of setup is small, although to make it work with my older Sharp Aquos TV, which lacks HDMI ARC, I had to buy a dongle — an HDMI audio extractor that pulls the sound out of the main source HDMI and shunts it to an optical jack that can communicate properly with the Bose device using the supplied optical cable. More modern TVs won’t need that. For those whose TV had great video but the audio sucks, this is the cure. It would be worth it for full price but it was nice to get this one as a Prime Day door-buster sale item. I know the days of Bose products being made in Framingham are long gone but this particular item is built in Thailand, which is an ally or something like one. As an ABC shopper I’ll settle for that.
