It's not unusual that when someone creates a great product that its success spawns a number of derivative products. Recently I have noticed a number of handheld vacuums with cylindrical shapes in their bodies, each claiming greatness. I became interested because there must be something to this new design, but who do you trust? I studied the items in the category and compared their features. A few stood out above the others, but again, who? Only one was from a company I have been familiar with for some time: Baseus! I have purchased a number of Baseus' products and have had nothing but great experiences with them all. I ordered the 135W Baseus A3 Car Vacuum, model CRXCQA3. The vacuum arrived in a very tidy package. It was a box with two more boxes inside filling the entire space. One box contained the vacuum itself. The other contained a nice drawstring bag that can store everything. Everything includes the vacuum, of course, a USB charge cord and two extremely clever attachments. One thing that immediately impressed me is how sleek the vacuum looks. It's a perfect cylinder with spherical ends. It appears very industrial and handsome. A lot of thought obviously went into the design. It's 11-1/2" long and 2-1/4" in diameter and weighs just over a pound and a half. The majority is metal and overall it feels very sturdy in my hand. A section of the tube near one end is 2-5/8" long and is a very clear plastic. This is the dustbin. Inside this the powerful motor is protected by two conical filters. The first, a pre-filter, is an extremely fine metal mesh. Inside of it is a HEPA filter. Both are washable. Also inside of this section is a special feature I find really helpful: a flashlight! Even in daylight or a well lighted garage it is still difficult to see the floor and around and under the seats of an automobile. This light is one of the vacuum's superpowers. How thoughtful! Continuing with the clever design are the attachments. Baseus stepped it up to design attachments to work with something this sleek and compact. The spherical vacuuming end is a solid chromed metal cap with a "fish mouth" inlet. This end cap screws off for emptying the bin and, when necessary, cleaning the filters. With the pressing of a button, the vacuum has two selective speeds and draws extremely well on both. Baseus cleverly designed an attachment that slips firmly into the vacuum's "mouth" and provides both a 5" extension wand and a brush head. Normally the brush is slid about half way back the wand and latches into place. When it needs to come into action a simple press on its latch allows it to be slid forward into its working position and it securely latches into place there. Voila! Two devices in one very compact design. The other attachment really delights me in another way. Every vacuum must to have an exhaust capability equal to the volumetric capacity of the vacuum. The end cap opposite the chromed inlet end contains the exhaust port. It is round and about the size of a quarter dollar coin. Baseus designed a wand that fits into this port. The wand quickly tapers down to a shape similar to a USB type-C port, but about four times the size. Not only do you have a vacuum, you also have a very nice portable blower. I have found that to be very handy too! The vacuum has a USB type-C port for charging. The provided charge cable will connect the vacuum to almost any USB charger we all seem to have accumulated in recent years. The charger should have the extremely common USB type-A port. A 2.1A tablet charger will charge more quickly than a 1A phone charger. The vacuum also supports the increasingly common QC3.0 quick charging protocol. Depending on the charger you use, three to five hours will have the vacuum at full charge again. There are three tiny recessed LEDs on the body of the vacuum just above the power switch that indicate the current charge level when it is operating. I have obviously been extremely pleased with this Baseus vacuum, and I haven't even mentioned its 15,000Pa capability. The U.S. has never officially adopted the Metric system; therefore, we don't typically express pressures in Pascals. We have stuck to "psi," pounds per square inch. Here's a help. One Pascal exudes approximately the pressure of a dollar bill lying flat on a surface. Imagine a tall stack of 15,000 dollar bills. In the concentrations this device operates, that is quite substantial for this sturdy handheld unit. I mostly keep mine in the car and use it regularly to keep things tidy. When it is out of the car it's usually because I needed a blower.

I LOVED this little vaccuum while it lasted. I only used it 4 times though and I went to use it again and it turned on then died. So I charged it up and was all excited to use it-and then it started up and died again. Very disappointing since I loved it so much and it was very expensive. I'd recommend it if it wasn't so faulty. But I wouldn't waste my money on it now.

    UPDATE**

The company saw my review and reached out and asked me what they could do to help and make things right. I told them what was wrong with my vaccuum and asked if they knew how to fix it to please let me know so that I could fix it. But that if they didn't, if it would be alright if I sent them the vaccuum that stopped working and then they could send me a new one. They immediately sent me a replacement and I am beyond grateful because I DO love this vaccuum and I'm so relieved that buying it wasn't for nothing. It's so comforting to know that this is a company of integrity!

Loved this vacuum at first. Just enough suction to clean baseboards, crumbs and other small jobs around the house with clean design. However, despite maintaining the filter as suggested my vacuum suddenly stopped turning on one day. Tried to reach out to their customer service listed but no response. Expensive for a product that doesn’t last.

    Update:

Upon submitting the review, Baseus contacted me right away and sent a new one since it was still under the warranty period. Hoping to see that the new one lasts.

This worked great at first, and I was glad I spent the money on it. I used it in my car for quick touch ups about 3 times. I forgot I had it for a few months (stored in pocket in rear seat), when I went to use it the 4th time, the battery was dead so I fully charged it (showing 3 lights on and steady), but I can’t get it to turn on - not high, low or even the light function. I have emailed the company even though it is out of the warranty period. I felt like it was a quality product, until it wasn’t, and barely used! Filter and dust chamber completely clean, went through trouble shooting exercises to no avail.

    Received dirty and used vacuum

I’m very disappointed as I bought this vacuum brand new and when I was opening it I noticed the vacuum was completed scratched up which I thought was strange as it was brand new. I then started to take apart the filter just to make sure I knew how to do it and it was completely full of dust and dirt like it has been used for a month and returned.. The battery was also completely dead. Looks like someone used it for 28 days and returned it right before the return policy and I got stuck with a used vacuum. I received the item the day before my recycling day so I recycled the box and now I’m stuck with a used vacuum since I can’t return it after I recycled the box. Very disappointing.

    EDIT:

I’m changing this from a 1 star to a 5 star review. After posting my above 1 star rating customer support reached out to me to try and make things right. The customer support was extremely nice and supporting and are sending a new replacement vacuum almost no questions asked. It seems like Amazon must have received an old return and didn’t do a thorough enough inspection and sent it to me as new when it wasn’t easily one month used. Baseus ended up sending me a new unit outside of Amazon (messaged me separately) which I really appreciated. The actual vacuum itself is the perfect size for a portable car vacuum and I’m just going to leave it in the trunk, suction is very good. After the great customer service I’ll recommend this to friends.

So, I bought one, and it failed (see original review below). Unfortunately, it was past the return window. ***BUT*** the good folks at Baseus actually DO care about their products! They shipped us a new one!

So far, so good. Any product can have lemons. At this point in time, this little sucker is working great.

Which is good, because the Cheerios (tm) were getting deep...

We'll give it a bit more time before I upgrade to 4 stars (I'm not sure if I can upgrade to a full 5, because the first one did bite the dust, and it's not like other folks didn't have the same problem). But I'm very happy with customer support!

ORIGINAL REVIEW:Took a chance after reading the reviews. Yup. It's garbage.

    But first, the pro's:

    - Sucks! (In a good way) Lives up to the hype in this department.

    - Solid. Nice and heavy. Feels like it should last forever - but we may never know...

But now the moment you've all been waiting for - the CONS:

    - (we'll start small) - the USB charging port is not aligned with the opening in the outer housing, so you have to kind of put the cord in at an angle and pry it in place. Annoying at best, can't imagine it would live very long because USB-C connectors are SO robust...

    - It does the thing where you turn it on (low - Don't always need turbo! Calm down! Enjoy life! Relax!), and after it's on for maybe 20 seconds, it shifts itself into overdrive, revs up for 5 seconds, and shuts off! And, no, Mr. Manufacturer, the filter is not clogged. We've used it maybe once or twice to extricate some Cheerios (tm), the filter is almost clean enough to eat off (I wouldn't suggest it, it's cone shaped and your food would fall onto your lap, and how are you going to clean it when the vacuum doesn't work?)

The good news: I bought this on sale!! Yippee!! Only paid $80!

The bad news: Return window expired because I was on vacation and buried in Cheerios (tm), which is what I bought this for in the first place. Well, I guess I can give this to my kid, and he has a new noise making machine that will shut itself off after half a minute. Win / Win in my opinion.

Tl;dr (your loss) - If you can do your vacuuming in 30 seconds or less, this is the tool for you!

I have a few other handheld vacs that are used for quick cleanups around the kitchen. Mostly crumbs in highchairs and stuff, but they aren't strong enough for much more than that. Not only does this vac do those jobs with ease, but it is more powerful and the battery life is much better. It does this without adding more bulk, and I was actually surprised by how much more compact it was than my other vacs.

After proving itself inside, I thought I'd take things up a notch and visit crumb/dust-ville... The car.

It was strong enough to pull dirt out of the cracks and crevices, and also loose dirt from the floormats. The smaller brush-head may not have been intended for this, but it works quite well.

The ability to put an attachment on the other side of the vac and utilize the exhaust air was just icing on the cake. Just as strong as it is at sucking up dirt, it is equally strong out the other side at blowing dust out of hard to reach places in the dash, head-unit, heating/cooling controls, dials...

    Good stuff!

    Not worth $100

I’m using this mainly as a quick car cleaning every few days to a week (depending on how dirty the floor mats get). I wish it came with a thin vacuum tube attachment to get into small crevices. I thought it did, then found out that the attachment it come with is for blowing :( yeah, it blows. Suction is ok on High. Not sure why they even bother with 2 speeds. Dirt chamber is very small so you have to empty it often. Also the dirt chamber doesn’t lock into place very well. It fell off on me once while using it. It’s also a little cumbersome to use cuz it’s so fat, kinda heavy, awkward and easy to accidentally switch on/off. This thing is decent for touch ups after a few days. So I don’t have to drag out the shop vac. But IMO it’s not worth $100... maybe $50. I’m sure there are better options out there for the price. I’d return it, but I waited too long to decide if I liked it it.

I bought this hoover with great expectations, but unfortunately it didn't delivery due to the battery running out too quick, the dust bin filling up too quick, etc.

I'm adding 5 stars because when I reached out to customer service, they were extremely helpful and provided a refund to me.

It stops after every 30sec then you need to clean it and again do the same. I bought this to vacum my car so far I could’t finish one mat. Waste of money

This product seemed to function alright. it was a bit heavier to use than expected but did the suction needed to clean.

within a month though the on/off button started to go lame and not respond anymore.
