I'll preface the review by saying I went from a flat screen 27" 75hz, 1080p screen to this one, so that is my basis for comparison. This is my first curved screen monitor as well, as I was looking for a more immersive gaming experience, and looking for a monitor to match the abilities of my new, more powerful PC.

I have the monitor hooked to my video card using the display port connection (cable not included), as this provides the highest available settings. The monitor comes with an HDMI cable that I saved for future use if needed. Set up was a breeze, the base went together with one screw. The base does take up a fairly big blueprint on the desk, so if your desk size is limited, I'd suggest a wall mount or desk monitor mount. I may do this in the future, but this works fine for now.

There isn't a height adjustment for this monitor, but that hasn't been an issue so far. The tilt adjustment, which was definitely needed, isn't very intuitive, and it's tight enough to feel like I was going to break something if I forced it. But it eventually moved and works fine - there are some other complaints about this online and even some videos on it, but mine adjusted once I put enough steady pressure on it.

The menus are simple and intuitive. Now for the good stuff - my games look amazing in 1440p and 165hz. But keep in mind you will need a video card capable of producing that resolution and frames per second, which is why I upgraded to this monitor in the first place. It's also a good idea to match the in game resolution settings with your monitor settings for best results. The only downside I have seen so far is that there is a fair amount of glare when the screen is off, even in a dark(ish) room. It hasn't been an issue while playing games yet, but it's something to be aware of.

BOTTOM LINE: This is a great monitor for gaming at this price point (~$350). Sure it probably won't compete with a $1,000+ 4K monitor, but if you're looking for a great monitor for gaming or production work that doesn't break the bank, this is a great choice.

I’ve been gaming on various monitors for years, but nothing compares to the experience I’ve had with the Samsung Odyssey 32" Gaming Monitor. This screen is an absolute beast, delivering incredible performance, stunning visuals, and the kind of smooth gameplay that makes you wonder how you ever played without it.

Display Quality:

The 32-inch curved display is a game-changer. The curvature is just right—not too aggressive, but it wraps around your field of vision in a way that immerses you in the action. The QHD resolution (2560x1440) looks absolutely gorgeous—everything is crisp, sharp, and vibrant, with colors that pop off the screen. Whether I’m playing fast-paced FPS games, exploring vast open-world environments, or watching cinematic cutscenes, the picture quality is breathtaking.

Smoothness & Refresh Rate:

The 165Hz refresh rate is where this monitor really shines. The difference between 60Hz and 165Hz is night and day. The motion on-screen is buttery smooth, and I noticed an immediate improvement in responsiveness and gameplay fluidity, especially in competitive multiplayer games like shooters and racing sims. It’s also G-Sync compatible, so I’m getting tear-free, stutter-free performance with my NVIDIA GPU. If you’re a gamer who’s serious about performance, the 165Hz refresh rate is absolutely worth it.

Design & Build Quality:

The design is sleek, futuristic, and minimalistic, with slim bezels that make the screen feel even larger than it already is. The stand is solid and fully adjustable—easy to change the height, tilt, and swivel to get the perfect viewing angle. I also love the RGB lighting on the back of the monitor, which adds a nice touch of flair to my gaming setup. It’s subtle but really elevates the overall aesthetic of the monitor.

Gaming Experience:

From the moment I booted up my first game, I could tell this monitor was built for gamers. The 1ms response time ensures zero motion blur, and with the curved display, I feel fully immersed in whatever game I’m playing. Whether it's action-packed shooters, racing games, or strategy titles, everything feels more responsive and engaging.

Overall:

The Samsung Odyssey 32" Gaming Monitor has exceeded all my expectations. With its stunning display, smooth 165Hz refresh rate, immersive curve, and sleek design, it’s truly an upgrade for any serious gamer. Whether you’re competitive or casual, this monitor delivers a premium experience that’s hard to beat at this price point. If you’re in the market for a high-performance gaming monitor, this one is a no-brainer. Highly recommend!

The SAMSUNG 32" Odyssey G55A is an absolute gaming marvel that has blown me away with its immersive experience. After witnessing the stunning visuals on my friend's monitor, I couldn't resist getting one for myself, and I must say, it's been a gaming dream come true.

First and foremost, the 32-inch screen size is perfect for creating a truly captivating gaming atmosphere. The display's 1440p resolution provides crystal-clear visuals with vibrant colors and deep contrasts, making every game come to life in stunning detail. Playing on this monitor is like stepping into the gaming world itself.

The G55A's 165Hz refresh rate is nothing short of remarkable. The smooth and fluid motion it delivers has elevated my gaming to a whole new level. Fast-paced games have become even more enjoyable, and I feel like I have a competitive edge with this monitor's responsiveness.

The curvature of the G55A adds to the immersion factor. It pulls me into the action, providing a panoramic view that feels incredibly engaging. It's like being wrapped in the game world, enhancing my focus and allowing me to get lost in the gameplay.

I also appreciate the inclusion of AMD FreeSync Premium. This feature has virtually eliminated any screen tearing or stuttering during gameplay, providing a seamless experience that's easy on the eyes. My games have never looked smoother, and I can't imagine going back to a non-synced monitor.

The build quality of the G55A is top-notch, and the monitor's stand, while functional, has a minor quirk. It's a bit longer than expected, and it sticks out past the screen when viewed from certain angles. While this doesn't affect the monitor's performance or gameplay experience, it can be slightly distracting for those who prefer a more compact design.

Despite this minor stand quirk, the G55A still doubles as an excellent work monitor. Whether I'm editing photos or working on design projects, the monitor's color accuracy and sharpness make it a pleasure to use for productivity tasks as well.

In conclusion, the SAMSUNG 32" Odyssey G55A is a gaming masterpiece that lives up to its reputation. Its immersive display, high refresh rate, curvature, and AMD FreeSync Premium have revolutionized my gaming experience. I am beyond satisfied with my purchase, and I wholeheartedly recommend this monitor to any gaming enthusiasts or content creators looking for an epic display to enhance their gaming or work setup. If you're looking to level up your gaming experience, the G55A is the way to go, even with its minor stand quirk!

Got it back during a Cyber Monday deal around $260ish. It's really good for the price honestly. It works perfectly with my PS5. 120 hz on games that support it no issues. It feels so smooth, can't believe I played FPS games on 60 for so long because 120 is game changing! The only unfortunate thing when it comes to performance is that it only supports G-Sync and not other forms of VRR. And G-Sync isn't supported on PS5.

Picture Quality: When it comes to picture quality, it's actually pretty good when you get it dialed in and mess with the picture settings, but out of the box it isn't that great and HDR isn't even a consideration for me. It's not an oled so the deepblacks aren't the best but once you calibrate it to your liking, it ends up looking really good. It's also made up by the fact that it's 1440p resolution with 144hz refresh rate. 1080p in 2023 is a deal breaker! So no worries there

The colors are also vibrant and punchy. Just not the best blacks. Also, it doesn't have the best viewing angles, but it's a curved gaming monitor, most times you're gonna be sitting directly in front of it lol so that shouldn't be much of an issue.

Screen/Build Quality: I've had this monitor for just around 4 months and no issues so far when it comes to the build quality. The stand it ships with though is very limited, and I remember it was a pain in the *** to mount the monitor on the stand for the first time.

Overall, this is a great bang for the buck if you can get it at or below $300. It gives you the basic necessities for a gaming monitor. 144hz support, 1440p resolution so it's sharp enough, the colors with calibration can be vibrant and punchy, and it's curved at 32 inches. Not many complaints here!

Cons: deep blacks aren't a strength, viewing angles aren't great, and no VRR support on PS5, only G-Sync for PC.

Edit: 9/2/ 2023. I had to edit this review because the blanking out problem seems to have stopped after I upgraded the drivers for the 6800xt graphics card. That could have been the problem the whole time. But who knows. I'm still not sure about the stand and changing the tilt of the monitor. The instructions aren't that clear on that.

The picture is nice. It's very sharp, bright, and big. You can't seem to use HDR, so it's not that bright. The main problem I've seen is once in a while it will just go off. Then I have to wait and it will come back about a minute later. It's rare, but you know technology doesn't work like it's supposed to anymore. Once it comes back on you see the connection type back in the upper left of the screen and the AMD software is asking if you want to report the problem. I have an AMD 6800xt video card it's plugged into. I used the cord that comes with the monitor but also bought another one the same time I bought the monitor because who knows if it has one included. On Amazon there's what, 6 monitors listed together? Both display port cords have the monitor going off, or blank, what ever it's doing. I threw the box away long ago, so I'm not sending it back. I'll be just suffering with it. I had 2 Acer monitors that were 1080p plugged into the same computer and video card for months and they never went blank. So far this problem hasn't been in a game but just using Windows with the browser open.

Another problem is the tilt up and down. I don't know how it works. There's a picture in the manual that seems to show just pushing it down and up, but I'm sure if you think you are going to do that without breaking the screen, not likely.

Ninety percent of the time it's a good monitor, until it suddenly goes off or you stand up and can't see it too well because I guess you can't adjust the height.

Ok so I bought an acer monitor for 320 dollars, it was 240hz and 1080p so I was expecting a smooth experience. I was very excited when opening the package since the ergonomics and overall quality of the acer was son nice. That was until I turned it on and it had a massive amount of tearing, 240hz just felt wrong, there was smearing, color cast, etc. Point is, I am sending it back but I didn't want to do so without seeing up a monitor for my pc. so I ordered this one. I am so happy I decided to go for it and change it. I have only encountered one single problem with this monitor, and it's the green darks and pink highlights. Out of the box my monitor came with a green tint that was way too noticeable, some tweaking in the settings and Nvidia's panel, and I fixed it to a decent degree. Highly recommend, I don't think a monitor this good is going to be found at this price tag. I do have to say, the acer had better materials used for the hardware build, but Samsung seemed to compensate with screen quality and smooth performance. 90% recommend

First one I got was great, a few years back, now I order a second one for dual screen setup, first time I get one thats cracked to a point it can't be used, second one has dead pixels or dirt underneath the screen making the spot black, can't get the settings to match the older monitor because there's settings missing, new settings, and for some reason this new one is capable of HDR, but why? The model isn't supposed to support that.

I'll do my best to make everything clear.

Starting with this monitor support 165 hrz and QHD so if you want to see a monitor with the best image quality like 4k this is not the option, for me I rather go for more smooth on games so I like this monitor because it's great on that aspect and if you don't want to spend a lot on a monitor this it's a great idea and more if it is on discount, I have the odessey g5 32 inches and 165 hrz and QHD so this monitor it's big if you are not use to monitors or if you used to have 27 inches monitors this is a big monitor and it's curved screens it's amazing, make you look like weird at fort bit once you are used to you would love it and you won't notice that it curved.

If you have a great PC and you are looking for a monitor I won't recomend you this exact item because there are a lot of best options and you should have to buy a expensiver monitor for this situation, because hdr 19 in this monitor it's weak, it's brightness make it usless and also if you have a room with a lot of extern light it's kind of tough because of it's low nits of brightness, but if you have a console like me it a great opcion because you don't need a lot for it, you can play at 120 hrz and 1440p and I were used to TV so this it's a huge noticeable change.

I would recommend this monitor just if you are on those situation and more if it's on discount, love it.

Feliz 2023 amigos

I recently purchased the SAMSUNG 32" Odyssey G55A QHD 165Hz 1ms FreeSync Curved Gaming Monitor for office use, and I couldn't be more pleased with my decision.
