What types of feedback does the collar provide for my dog?
The Halo Collar uses sound, vibration, or optimal static feedback. There is prevention and encouragement feedback.
How often should I charge the collar?
Charge everynight for best performance and experience.
If I already own an invisible dog fence, how much training for the Halo Collar is required?
If you're dog is already trained on another fence system, Halo can use the same sounds and settings that your dog has already learned. Either way, it is best to practice.
Product description
-
What’s new for the Halo Collar 5?
Redesigned with 2 chips for faster, more stable long-range connection. The AI-enhanced tracking technology delivers unmatched location accuracy.
-
How is Halo different from other “smart” GPS and tracking dog collars?
Halo Collar is a GPS fence that keeps your dog safely inside the area you define. Unlike tracking collars, which only tell you after your dog has escaped, Halo prevents them from leaving in the first place.
-
How accurate are Halo Fences compared to other “wired” fences?
Halo Fences are wireless so there is no installation, no wires, no digging, and no property damage required. Halo Fences can be placed anywhere, and are not limited by geography or other obstacles that prevent installation of a wire.
-
What if my dog escapes the Halo Fence?
If your dog leaves their Halo fence, you'll be instantly notified. Your dog will keep getting corrections if they continue moving away from home, and encouragement while they're returning. You can track your dog's real-time location in the Halo app.
-
Does Halo use static feedback? When is this feedback useful?
Halo uses optional static feedback to mimic a tap on the shoulder (as opposed to an e-collar, which hurts your dog) to break your dog's fixation in dangerous and distraction-filled situations. You can choose the level that’s best for your dog.

Best thing ever
Reviewed in the United States on October 8, 2026Wow so impressed. Bought this for my lab who is a year old. She learned in 10 minutes where the boundaries were. I was so impressed. We have a few time where she followed her sister outside of her area but she has come back fast with the correction. It is very sturdy and we live on a farm and it adjusts to your dog which i love. The training in the app is great i havent finished all of it but it has been a life saver and has giving my lab freedom to be outside and not worry where she is.

So Grateful We Found the Halo Collar 5
Reviewed in the United States on July 27, 2026Our beagle had become an expert at digging under our fence and taking off around the neighborhood. Every time he got out, we were worried something would happen to him. We finally decided to try the Halo Collar 5, and it has honestly been one of the best purchases we’ve made for our dog.
The setup was much easier than I expected. The app walks you through each step, and the built-in training made it easy to understand what we needed to do. We were able to start training on the first day, and our beagle responded really well. The lessons are simple, clear, and don’t feel overwhelming.
The collar itself is very well made. We chose the Ranger color, and it looks great on our beagle. It’s easy to adjust for the perfect fit, and the buckle makes it quick to put on and take off. Even though the material feels strong and durable, it also seems comfortable enough for him to wear all day.
The biggest difference has been the peace of mind. Instead of constantly worrying that he’ll find another way out of the yard, we can let him enjoy being outside without the same level of stress. The virtual fence has worked really well for us, and I love that I can make changes right from the app without having to deal with wires.
No product is completely hands-off, and I think it’s important to spend the time doing the training. That made all the difference for us. If you have a dog that’s an escape artist like our beagle, I definitely recommend the Halo Collar 5. It has made our lives easier, and more importantly, it’s helped keep our dog safe.

Great Idea, Terrible Experience
Reviewed in the United States on August 12, 2026I really wanted to like this collar because the features sounded perfect. Unfortunately, I can’t recommend it at all.
The biggest problem is that I can’t even get the app to open. It constantly tells me I have a poor internet connection, even though I’ve tested my Wi-Fi multiple times, switched to the required 2.4 GHz network, and confirmed my internet is working fine. No matter what I try, the app still won’t work.
Because of that, the collar has been basically useless. My dog has already gotten out twice, and I’ve had to go searching for her myself because I couldn’t rely on the tracking features that were the main reason I bought this product. That’s incredibly frustrating and honestly scary when your pet’s safety is on the line.
I also tried contacting customer support, only to be met with an estimated 288-minute wait time. That’s almost five hours just to speak with someone about a product that isn’t functioning as advertised.
When you’re buying a GPS collar and wireless fence, reliability is everything. If the app won’t even open, none of the advertised features matter. I don’t feel comfortable trusting this collar to keep my dog safe, even in my own yard.
One star. If zero stars were an option, that’s what I would give it. I can’t believe I spent this much money on a product that doesn’t even work.

Escape Artist
Reviewed in the United States on August 18, 2026We live in the country on 5 acres and our dog was becoming us an escape artist she was hopping over fences going into other farms and we were worried that she was gonna get shot and we tried everything to keep her. I couldn’t leave her in the backyard unattended. Then we got the halo collar and it changed everything. I was so frustrated. I was actually thinking about taking her back to the rescue, but since we got the halo, it’s changed her life in our lives for the better. She’s well behaved now she responds to the warnings. She comes immediately to the whistle so we love it. At first I thought it was a little expensive but it’s worth every penny.

Very glitchy
Reviewed in the United States on June 6, 2026This collar consistently has issues with connectivity, gps signal, the collar signal itself slides down under the dogs neck now matter how much you tighten it, it loosens right up. The rubber collar strap itself isn’t super high quality. In just a few months I’ve had to repeatedly replace the screws for the collar because they’ve just come loose and my dogs collars fell off on our property and I had to go retrieve it.
The biggest problem is that the collar will randomly beep and use static correction on our dog for being well within their fence limits.
Customer service has been unhelpful, because they’ve don’t have a solution for the issues we are having. They have checked everything on their end and told us nothing is wrong. That’s clearly not the case when our dogs are being traumatized by a low quality product which is insane for how much two of these cost. Overall I’m disappointed. This includes making sure that the gps signal was strong, and everything was set up correctly.Additionally, I bought the beacon and that works less than 25% of the time in the zone it is placed in. It’s atrocious.

Worth the Price for Safety
Reviewed in the United States on May 31, 2026Coming back on here after having and using this collar for about 2 months. We have it on our 9 month old lab dog, she was bred to be a duck hunting dog in her future. Plus having a 1-year old child starting to walk.
I am very pleased with this purchase as it has helped with a lot of anxiety and stress when living close the road and with a busy baby. We also have a specific layout of barns. We wanted a collar system that allowed us the create a specific outline, which is did.
I would recommend about a week of training with your dog, walking them around on the leash with collar, getting them familiar with the border and sounds. Battery life seems functional for the day. We then charge the collar each night while she is in her pen. It is adjustable to any size.
There have only been a few instances where the collar may beep/vibrate when our dog went near the border but then came back. It seems like there may be a slight delay in the GPS reading at times which caused it to beep while she was back sitting in the safe zone. I also had an instance where we had construction workers on our road, our dog crossed the outline multiple times and seemed unaware of the vibrations/shocks. I do think that was because she is a 9-month old lab puppy, she is going to be pretty high energy for the next 5 years.
We did purchase this collar and the yearly subscription price that comes with it, but to me it was worth creating our specific fence and providing me with a safe assurance while I’m inside or outside with my baby. Would recommend to others!

More than met my expectations
Reviewed in the United States on October 4, 2026I was very hesitant about this collar due to the reviews on Amazon but decided to take the chance after a lot of YouTube reviews etc. I’ve had this collar for a month and love it so far. My frenchie has learned his “fence line” very quickly and we have even started using it to help with some other training aspects! I would definitely recommend this collar!

Great concept but needs more work to be reliable and good
Reviewed in the United States on October 7, 2026Great idea and concept however in my case it is not perfected and cannot be used as it will confuse the dog.... spent several days and many hours trying to get the fence to work properly. I was on the phone with live video chat two times and the 2nd time after spending about an hour I was told that he would have to escalate my case. I asked him if they could do this now and he told me that they would have to call me back and several hours later no call... I really wanted it to work...not sure if mine was defective or what but I cannot spend any more time on it.... Says GPS updated 20 times per second - mine kept getting stuck showing no gps signal then after a few seconds sometimes minutes it would then suddenly say high gps.... put some flags up to try and map out fence only to see the collar alarm sometime 15-20 feet difference from where the last one did.... over 2 acres some trees but I would consider sparse...to medium.... see screen shots and video I took with tech support when trying to figure out what was going on... Finally gave up and am sending back to Amazon. Notice in the screen shot it shows dog out in roadway and it was actually with me at the blue dot inside the driveway.... and yet it shows GPS the highest - I really wanted it to work guess I will be installing a new buried cable one....
