Scene 1 THE AVENGERS
As you start the scene, three of the basic robot soldiers will smash out. Practice your hero's Special by pressing both buttons and the aerial beam attack if you're Iron Man or Vision. With those soldiers gone, the next segment will be against gunners, bionic arms and defenders. Learn how to take down each of these new enemies. You will then find Whirlwind robbing a bank. He then sends out his cohorts the Living Laser and Klaw to attack you. Both of them had synchronized beam attacks as well as their own unique lasers. As long as you are not in direct crossfire of their beams, you should be alright. The Special Attack deals great damage on bosses.
After taking down the two lackeys, the action continues with more of the basic soldiers you just faced. Quicksilver also drops an energy pack for 20 hit points. The outside clearing introduces hovercrafts, ogres and bomb bugs. Finish all of them to face Whirlwind himself. Surrounded by drums and tires, try to pick up as many of them to throw and inflict hefty damage. Once his life is down by half, he will start using his tornado moves. His vertical tornado sucks up all the remaining drums and tires as well as tossing them all in your direction. Once the arena is clear, he uses the horizontal tornado charge. Again, Special Attacks do a lot of damage if you hit him in his tornado form, so time your attacks and Whirlwind's defeat is inevitable.
LIVING LASER "Don't disturb us!"
Real Name: Arthur Parks Attacks: Laser, Aerial Beam
KLAW "Don't disturb us!"
Real Name: Ulysses Klaw Attacks: Laser, Sonic Claw
WHIRLWIND "You will be the one escaping!"
Real Name: David Cannon Attacks: Tornado Charge
Scene 2 TARGET TOWN
GIANT ROBOT "I'll kill you all!"
Real Name: N/A Attacks: Beam Barrage, Rocket Punch
After a short encounter with robot soldiers atop the building, engage in aerial battle with Wonder Man's help, providing trusty Skycycles for Cap and Clint while Tony and Vision can both fly. While airborne, tap both buttons repeatedly for rapid fire. Gunships shoot beams at you while aerial soldiers try to collide on the heroes. At least two fighter jets arrive to launch missiles and deploy more soldiers. Take the Wasp's signal and she'll lend aid to obliterate these foes. When you arrive to the ruins of a building, a giant Sentinel comes to stop you. Avoid its laser arrays and rocket fists. All its projectiles can be repelled by your own shots. Keep on firing at the robot until it is destroyed.
GRIM REAPER "You came here to die!"
Real Name: Eric Williams Attacks: Energy Blast, Spinning Scythe
Once you get back on land, you will be met by most of the land troopers you have met so far, including bomb bugs and the new hovercrafts. Use your Special Attack to do great damage on most of them with the least hits. Upon reaching the park, the Grim Reaper will face you. Avoid his charging attack with his scythe at all costs. His front is impervious to attacks or projectiles during this state, but you can quickly jump behind him and use Special Attack for a free hit. Keep away from him whenever his scythe is spinning to levitate himself or to attack. Attack in melee range to wear down his health and the fight with Grim Reaper won't be hard.
Scene 3 CHALLENGE AT THE BOTTOM OF THE SEA
WIZARD "Puny superheroes, I'll shut you up for good!"
Real Name: Bentley Wittman Attacks: Energy Discs, Power Beam
The first section of the stage is on a ruined seaport with a toxic oil spill around the sea. Bash across multiple robot soldiers and move ahead but the Wizard impedes your progress. He likes jumping around which is followed with either two attacks: a barrage of purple energy discs or alternating laser beams left and right. Strike up-close while you can, and use your Special Attack when he's jumping or afar and he'll be taken down easily. Namor the Submariner guides you to the ocean afterwards.
MECH TAKO "I'll make seaweed out of you!"
Real Name: N/A Attacks: Laser Volley, Tentacle Whip
As soon as the heroes dive in, plenty of sea mines are floating in the depths of the water. Some of these mines even follow you around, so shoot them with your projectiles. Blast through the various diver soldiers shooting harpoons. The Submariner gives a brief underwater assistance as you take down on more divers and sea snakes. A robotic octopus piloted by a grunt sits by a cave that acts as this section's boss. The octopus' only form of attack is send a wave of lasers beams with gaps in between. As long as you evade this and keep out of range from the octopus tentacles, you should get out of this battle unharmed.
MANDARIN "See my power!"
Real Name: Unknown Attacks: Fire Ring, Ice Ring, Impact Ring
After the relatively easy boss battle, the heroes enter the underwater base, where they'll be back smashing robot soldiers. The silos around this area are explosive, so don't hesitate to throw them to enemies for massive damage. Quicksilver drops by for a free health recharge, then bash the windows to enter the control room with the Mandarin. After the Red Skull taunts you, the battle begins. Out of the Mandarin's ten magical rings, he only uses three throughout the battle. The fire ring blasts a medium distance swath of fire; the ice ring shoots a full-screen white beam that freezes the player in place; the impact ring creates a destructible shadow clone that tackles the player. The Mandarin also loves teleporting around the arena in high-speeds. This will be the first of your most challenging bosses yet, but once you get the pattern of his attacks, you can take advantage of these openings to land a strike and put him down.
Scene 4 GIANT LASER CANNON
JUGGERNAUT "Obey me or die!"
Real Name: Cain Marko Attacks: Hammer Fist, Evade Roll, Jump Tackle
The increase in difficulty is noticeable as you go closer to the Red Skull's defenses. Modified and stronger versions of the robots you have tackled so far now appear, becoming more merciless and will try their best to put the heroes down. Fortunately, a lot of machines and wrenches are scattered in this area, so use them well to knock them to scraps. Soon, Juggernaut arrives. His main form of attack is swinging his fists in a hammer motion, along with lots of jumping around and evasive rolling. Projectile attacks will come very handy in this battle. Try not to engage him up close if possible, just keep away and use your Special Attack repeatedly and Juggernaut will fall.
ULTRON "Ask the police!"
Real Name: N/A Attacks: Psychic Blast, Beam Bolt, Beam Shower
More control rooms! The usual set of modified soldiers fill the screens for more bashing. Machines are also plenty, so toss them to these robots! Quicksilver can even destroy the robots when he runs over some of them as he drops the energy pack. At the end of the segment is another hard boss battle against the sentient Ultron. This android has a wide variety of attacks aside from punching the heroes directly boxing-style. His psychic beams or horizontal lasers are dangerous if you're caught while doing your Special Attack, so jumping attacks and diagonal blasts are vital in the fight. When running low on health, Ultron will start raining laser beams upward and bring them down in a tempest of damaging light. Ultron is extremely vulnerable to Special Attacks when he is flying around encased in energy, so use this to your advantage.
Scene 5 THE END OF RED SKULL
CONTROLLER "You're trapped!"
Real Name: Basil Sandhurst Attacks: Punch Attack, Diving Kick
The final chapter starts with an aerial battle in space, a siege to Red Skull's lair. Stronger versions of the enemies and jets from the second chapter are back, with Wasp available as an assist at midway. You then have to destroy the Red Skull's huge laser cannon tower as you descend toward its base. Destroy its defenses and lay the tower into waste. An encounter with the Skull's defenses are foot, followed by a trap floor leading the heroes to a deep base. They are now pitted against two clones of the Controller. While these enemies are easy enough with only jumping kicks as their main attacks, the main focus here are the sawblades that slide through the gaps of the floors. The boss(es) are impervious to them, but not the heroes. Try to stay out of the sawblade's area of effect and pound down on the clones without difficulty.
CROSSBONES "You can't go through!"
Real Name: Brock Rumlow Attacks: Knife Throw, Handgun, Explosives
Fight across the strongest versions of the robot soldiers before facing the assassin Crossbones. He is very elusive and has a great arsenal of moves. He dashes around the screen and leaves turtle-like grenades that follow the player around before exploding. The heroes can pick it up and toss them to Crossbones for huge damage. Crossbones can also use his pistol or knives to strike the player from afar. Keep your sights on him and use the Special Attack whenever possible. Take the energy pack behind the desk and continue the onslaught on Crossbones, who is the most challenging boss you have faced so far.
RED SKULL "It's not over yet!"
Real Name: Johann Schmidt Attacks: Punch Attack, Flying Kick
Following Crossbones' defeat, Red Skull taunts you as he prepares to escape his base. The heroes then follow him to the space port, where they face the last of Red Skull's robot goons. You have reached here so far, so use all your best to take down these thugs to the scrap heap. You now face the Red Skull himself atop his getaway jet. While the Red Skull shows he is also skilled in martial arts, using punches and flying kicks as main attacks, something feels curiously not right as the heroes can easily bring down the evil mastermind of this mayhem...
MECH. SKULL "It's another trap! You stupid men! Ha ha ha!"
Real Name: N/A Attacks: Energy Orbs, Whirlwinds, Miniguns
True enough, the Red Skull you faced was only a body double! The real Red Skull reveals himself inside the jet's canopy as the double transforms into a humongous robotic Red Skull as the final boss. The robot has a vast array of moves from previous bosses: from fireballs, tornado attacks, laser beams and gatling guns. The heroes can deflect a lot of them via a precise use of their Special Attack, and they can move free from the whirlwind attack like an enemy grapple. When the Mech Skull is using its gatling guns and fist rockets, stay below him to get free hits while the gatlings don't even hit you. When his arm swings down, jump out of the range and continue the offensive. Soon, the robot shorts-out and collapses on the Red Skull's canopy, which destroys the jet and eventually the whole base. The Avengers escape using their Quinjet as the Red Skull's lair turns to rubble. Congratulations for beating the game and stopping the Red Skull's nefarious plot... or have you really?
