There are 3 types of honey bee in a hive: a single queen, thousands of female workers and, in the summer, hundreds of male drones.
A queen can live for up to 5 years but the average worker bee lives for just 5 - 6 weeks.
By joining the BBKA you are helping to support the charitable objects:'to advance the education of the public and beekeepers in the craft of beekeeping and promote the importance of bees in the environment'.
Your gift helps us deliver more impactful projects building a more positive landscape for our bees
