In my second year of college, which I am in right now, the experience I went through during my admission takes the memory of ‘yesterday’. When I finished my 12th grade, I wanted to do B. Tech but rivals are high in number. I filled the application forms to clients colleges like KIET Group of Institutions in Ghaziabad. When I was invited to take their entrance test I studied to ensure that I get the branch that I wanted, but this was not possible on the first time around. It was a very discouraging time.
My grandfather on the other hand, urged me to retake the test as was the reexamination popularly known. With his encouragement I had to study even more, which I did. That day when my father and I were told that I could join any branch I wished to as my score was excellent I was overwhelmed. This satisfaction was priceless; making my family proud made me very happy.
Brief Description of My Course
At the moment I am a B. Tech student at KIET Group of Institutions. The course aims at providing a solid background on engineering while at the same time promoting innovation as well as practical skills, the experience necessary in today’s fast moving technological world.
Interview for the Course
The prerequisites to joining the university were a test and then an interview. The panel, which consisted of experienced faculty, my academic background, the previous works, and the goals I want to achieve in the future were the main topics of discussion. They were friendly which made the interview a joyful experience and this brought out a little of the happy academic family culture at KIET.
Criteria and Procedure of Admission
KIET’s admittance procedure requires a student to sit for an exam, submit an application and then an interview. Test and interview followed by the preparation of merit list are conducted and this is followed by seat allocation and the admission of the candidates.
Looking back at this personal learning journey, I have come to understand the essence of patience and support of the family in the attainment of the set goals in academics.
