About Me
I am a final year B.Tech student specializing in CSE – Cyber Security at Mallareddy Engineering College, Hyderabad, with a CGPA of 8.5. Python is my primary programming language and I have a good foundation in SQL and Linux. This is my complete interview experience with Comviva during our campus placement drive in 2023.

Placement Process Overview
- Round 1: Online Assessment (Proctored, On-Campus)
- Round 2: Technical Interview (Online)
- Round 3: HR Interview (Online)
Stats:
- Total students appeared: ~700
- Shortlisted after Round 1: ~9
- Shortlisted after Round 2: ~5
- Finally selected: ~3
Round 1: Online Assessment (Duration: 3 Hours)
The first round was a proctored online exam conducted on campus. It covered:
- English / Verbal Ability
- Linux Commands
- Programming (C, Java, Python)
- SQL
Results were displayed immediately after submission in percentage format. I scored 80%. This was the toughest elimination round.
Tip: Focus heavily on Linux commands and SQL basics along with your preferred programming language.
Round 2: Technical Interview
Scheduled the next day. The interview was completely resume-based.
Opening Question
1. Tell me about yourself
C Language
Questions were asked from C. I clearly communicated that I was stronger in Python, and the interviewer switched to Python.
Python Questions
- Explain OOPs concepts
- What is Polymorphism?
- Difference between List, Tuple, and Dictionary
- What is a Docstring?
- What is a Lambda Function?
- What is List Comprehension?
- Difference between break, continue, and pass
SQL Questions
- Difference between DDL and DML
- Write a query to create a table
- Write a query to retrieve data
Linux Commands
- How to check current directory
- How to delete a file and folder
- How to navigate between directories
At the end, the interviewer asked if I had any questions. I asked about company products, tech stack, and growth opportunities.
Result: Out of 9 students, 5 were selected for HR.
Tip: Always prepare questions to ask the interviewer.
Round 3: HR Interview
The HR round was conversational.
Questions included:
- Is this your first interview?
- Have you been selected before?
- Why not selected earlier?
- Family background
- Last trip
- Willingness to relocate
The discussion mainly focused on attitude, learning mindset, and relocation flexibility.
Results & Timeline
- Round 1 cleared (80%)
- Round 2 cleared
- Round 3 cleared
- LOI released after HR round
- Offer letter released in November 2024
- Joining Location: Bangalore
Final Tips
- Online test is the biggest filter
- Be honest about your strengths
- Know your resume thoroughly
- Ask questions in interview
- Be genuine in HR round
- Focus on Python, SQL, Linux
