Digital Accessibility Center

The Digital Accessibility Center (DAC) supports the UMass Amherst community by providing equitable access to digital content, technology, and learning environments. Through assistive technology consultation, accessibility training, compliance reviews, accessibility audits, and testing services, the DAC helps ensure that university digital platforms and resources meet accessibility standards and support an inclusive experience for all users. The DAC collaborates with campus partners to promote accessible, inclusive, and compliant digital experiences across the university community.

The Digital Accessibility Center (DAC) Lab is for all students, faculty and staff. The six workstations (four Windows, two macOS) in the lab are designed to remove barriers to learning that include cutting-edge technology, including screen readers and speech recognition software.

Gail works closely with and provides services to campus partners to identify and resolve digital accessibility barriers. Testing with screen readers and other assistive technologies, Gail explores and reports on the usability of websites, mobile applications, and documents.
