No bluetooth or wifi for my pc. I suppose the lack of support for newer hardware cannot be fixed by any driver updates. No way will I attempt to search for drivers, as I never had any luck in the past (using other distros that had older kernals or whatever). Should this ever get fixed, I would happily install it as my main system. For now, it stays on my live thumbdrive, until something I can use, comes along. Love it..but can't use it. In my previous review, I had mentioned how much of a pain it was to update the kernel to the new 7.0 kernel and not even a week after I had moved to something else, and posted that review, MODICIA has released a new version with a whole new tool to update your kernel and not only did that fix my ASUS DXG sound card, but it sounding much better as well. I know this as I ended up going back to MODICIA after seeing the new screen shot of new interface. I can't even explain how much happier I am that they did this! Seriously, the new options have done away with almost all of my complaints from before and the mentioning of needing two forks is now gone. This gives you all of those freedoms and allows you to have an OS that you want. This was such a much needed move and I'm now back on one of my favorite Distros. Thank you! Was this review helpful? Yes No Version: 6.12.38 Rating: 8 Date: 2026-05-11 Country: United States Votes: 1 I really really want to like this Distro, I love the them for it, I love the Cinnamon desktop and how it's laid out, I love the default apps that it comes with and it's been stable, HOWEVER, I really think it needs be broken into two forks. This distro is great in that it's locked down and if I was a teacher or in a teaching environment working with students and showing them how all the editing tools work with 5,10,15 or more PC's all needing to be the same and you're going through all the awesome tools that it comes with than this is absolute 10, because it is that, locked down and stable. If you're on your own though, there are updated tools that utilize Kernel 6.14+ like NTSYNC that helps WINE run much smoother, especially with the new 7.0 kernel and the Pipewire audio fixes in place that this distro lacks severely. In order to update those items, it's countless hours of setting changes or unlocking the priorities that Modicia has locked with Debian and hours of frustration in order to change the kernel from 6.12.38 to 6.19.12 in order to take advantage of newer drivers that makes this distro frustrating and why I really believe they should have two forks of this distro. One locked for education use and one not, and for personal use. I mean even Mint, a dsitro known for it's stability, is defaulting to the 6.17 kernel in the last 22.3 update. Like I said, i really like this distro but there are things that have forced me to move to a different one because of how locked down and a pain it is and this Distro would benefit greatly from having two different forks of the same, an Education branch that's locked down and a regular addition branch that's got the new kernel and not as locked down to allow that freedom to happen. This will always be on my watch list as I do love most everything about it but I'm hoping the devs see this and at least update the kernel to 6.14+ to utilize NTSYNC. Was this review helpful?
