I came across XeroLinux. I didn’t have extra money to buy the ISO image, but there is a way to install the distro for free as a script on top of the original Arch ISO. I installed everything without any issues, and it’s well configured right out of the box. It comes with a stylish KDE Plasma theme that doesn’t look overly flashy or annoying. The system runs well and updates without problems. The developer also promised to add native Snapper support with automatic snapshots on every update for the Btrfs filesystem in the next release. I configured this manually myself, and now I basically don’t have to worry about system crashes anymore since I can roll back at any moment. There are also additional GUI applications that improve the Linux experience, such as kernel switching tools and scheduler optimizations for gaming or an ultra-smooth desktop experience. Im not sure why its not listed on the new releases here on distrowatch yet but here's my review. Im trying to find the words here to say what Id like to say but im in shock so ill just say , OMG. The new ISO! , im seriously amazed at just how good the latest XeroLinux is! Everything is in a beautiful easy to read GUI, I mean I like Ascii and Ansi graphics like the last version but this new gui destroys the old one. The options and settings and thoughtful added options that you don't see in other distros you have added , for example Save Desktop, The AMD ROCm Drivers, Zenergy, Gamescope, i could go on and on. Do you have any Idea how much time ths saved me having to find and download and install seperately all the apps and settings that have been laid out right in front of us at setup. And the damn thing is beautiful. WOW! .. Im seriously in awe of this release.. This is like Arco Linux (rip) and Cachy on steroids. This is absolutely worthy of a donation to this project. !!! Was this review helpful? Yes No Version: 2023.08 Rating: 10 Date: 2023-12-01 Votes: 23 This is basically an Arch installer with some sleek visuals added. Thankfully it offers nothing besides that. You can get an Arch based desktop environment up and running quickly and get to work. It doesn't have bloat or packages that will break your system. Unlike Garuda/Manjaro you can download stuff from the AUR without risk of your system breaking instantly. I wouldn't risk using them your system will break eventually, if you don't have time to install Arch by hand, this is a good alternative. Was this review helpful?
