Friend Party

The picture isn't the best but these are a bunch (half) of my high school friends that made it to our Christmas Party. It was great to see everyone who can. We missed those that couldn't make it this year. Thanks for all the yummy food girls.

Holiday Fun

This is Abby modeling a little service project we did.

Abby had fun out in the snow while I shoveled the walks.

This is the centerpiece Abby helped me make for another Christmas party. Thanks for the flowers Grandma. Notice the corral around the tree. It has been a life saver :)

Our sweet little guy who is just too stinkin' cute, I just had to post a picture of him.

Rock Star, Award, Ginger Bread House & Baby Teeth

Friday night was our adult ward talent Christmas party. Ben reluctantly signed up to preform in order to be supportive. It was a fun filled evening. The vast majority of the "talents" were silly things. Ben's was one of the few actual talents. He played/sang "I look after you" by The Fray on his guitar. He did AWESOME! Today he was informed the unofficially he had been chosen as the winner of the talent show for giving the best performance. Even the "Elderly" people liked it.

Saturday evening was Ben's Company Christmas Party at the Grand America. Ben's mom made my dress. It turned out beautiful. Thanks Dianne. We went up with our friends/Coworker Jared and Allyson to the party.

They give awards for Employee of the year for each department. For consulting they began reading of the client list of the winner. Ben and I looked at each other with the same expression of "isn't that YOUR client list." Sure enough Ben received the award for Consulting Employee of the year. He is certainly deserving of it. Doesn't he look so handsome?

He's the bald one on the right. :)

I helped Abby decorate her first Ginger Bread House. We had a great time decorating....

And even more fun eating it.

Today in church I was holding Bryson. In the midst of his babblings I noticed 2 little white lines on his bottom gums. Our little guy now has 2 teeth emerging forth at the same time. Besides his faucet of slobber and the need to chew on anything that gets near his face, he hadn't been grumpy or shown any other signs of teething :) I was even more surprised that they came at the exact same time. He get his efficiency from his dad and his crooked smile.

This one isn't the best picture of him, but you can see the teeth poking through on the bottom.

Sorry this is a long post, but just as a side note, I think these 2 were meant to be twins. :)

Yes that's really Abby and not Bryson dressed up in girl clothes :)

Quick Plug

So in light of the current economic state of our country. I thought I would give a plug for my sister-in-laws blog. She is the Coupon Queen. This is something I neither have the patience nor the talent for. She has started a blog and has done all the work for you to help you save some money. So check out Frugal Franny

Nauvoo Friend Christmas Party

Last night was our annual Nauvoo Friend Christmas Party. The minute everyone was gone I remembered we didn't take a picture, which I am very sad about. We had great food and shall we say entertaining conversations. I am nearly positive our single and newly wed friends will never have children after the all too descriptive birthing accounts were shared, despite our assurance that it was all worth it to have a beautiful little baby. Ben asked me after why girls share that stuff and I thinks it's like having been through war or something. Having others who can truly understand what you went through. I think by being able to laugh about it we are able to convince ourselves to do it again. And even though like veterans day we have our mother's day, I think sometimes we need a little more acknowledgment of the pains suffered and sacrifices made.
Wow how was that for a soap box. Sheesh!

Sorry that was totally not the direction I meant this to go.

It was great to see friends I haven't seen since the last party and can't wait for the next one.

Pasta through the ages

Is he chunky?

So I have been asked if Bryson is chunky by a few people. So I decided to answer the question with a few pictures. You can decide for yourself.

Developmentally he is sitting up pretty well and is getting pretty good at standing.

Outsmarted by a 2-year-old

We had pizza for dinner last night. Abby loves to eat pepperoni. She used to call it Macaroni and when I tried to tell her what Macaroni really was, she would correct me and tell me it was "noodles."

Anyway, so we were eating pizza, but all Abby wanted was pepperoni. She kept asking for more, so we'd give her a few pieces, she'd eat them and ask for more. After 2-3 times of this, we told her that she'd eaten enough pepperoni and and she needed to eat something else.

She played around for a bit and I went back to feeding Bryson. She told me she wanted some pizza this time, and I (feeling happy that she wanted pizza and not just pepperoni) willingly went and got her a piece and continued to feed Bryson.

A few minutes later, Abby announced she was done and ran off to play. After she left, I glanced over at her plate to find a whole piece of pizza with every last scrap of pepperoni missing =)

Get Together

A few of my friends and their kids came up to my parents cabin for a visit. We had a good time chatting and watching our crazy kids play together. Before everyone left we tried to get a picture of all the little kids and this is how it went.

It was great to see everyone who came.

The Last

Ben took me to SLC to stay over night for my birthday. We had a great time being kidless for a day. Despite having a waitress that gave us a double dose of spite with our breakfast we had a wonderful time. Thanks to my mom for watching them over night. Thanks for all the birthday wishes.

The last of my good friends from high school finally got married. They had a beautiful ceremony and the longest temple kiss ever :) The dinner was wonderful. It was great to see friends I haven't seen for awhile. It was wonderful to see Sarah and her new husband Ben so happy together. Thanks to Dianne for watching the kids that evening.

Bald Buddies

We love our little Bryson. Whenever you hold him he puts his chubby little arm around your neck. He always lights up when you walk in the room.

Sorry this was kind of random, but most of the posts are about Abby.

Lost in translation

Last night I made homemade Macaroni and Cheese. Abby wasn't eating so be asked if she wanted macaroni and every time abby would answer "Yes" but wouldn't take a bite. It took me a few minutes to realize that she wanted pepperoni. So we got her a few pieces. she turns to me and pointing to the macaroni and says "noodles, not macaroni". I stand corrected.

Last night Abby refused to go to bed unless she could sleep with her scriptures. She has been carrying them around all morning. I was telling her who the people in the pictures were. "This is Lehi and his "son" Nephi." Abby interpretation...Nephi=Sunshine. So for those of you scriptorians out there we now have the Prophet Sunshine formally known as Nephi.

Colds

So the cold bug has found our house. I was in the middle of changing Bryson Diaper when my nope began to run uncontrollably. I didn't want to abandon my naked baby on the changing table so I asked abby to get some TP for me. I hear the TP roll start spinning uncontrollably (refer to previous post) not that I should have expected anything else but her to have unwound the whole roll. I suddenly here what sounds like a tiny fountain... I look down to see Bryson is the fountain and he is "fountaining right into abby's hamper. So little, yet they constantly conspire against me :)

this is Abby imitating me blowing my nose :) Isn't she sweet.

How much toilet paper does it take...

How much toilet paper does it take to wipe an Abby nose?
I followed a trail of TP down the hall into Bryson's room and this is what i found...

I am a Child of God

This is one of Abby's favorite song. It's always her first pick for bed time songs.

We apparently make big babies. Bryson is 5 Months, his cousin Cannon is almost 1 year.

We Took the kids to get their pictures taken on Abby's birthday. The kids were great and we got some cute pictures.

So our little girl is 2! We celebrated her birthday with lots of family and lots of sweets. She has been on a birthday high for days. She has grown and learned so much over the last 2 years. She brings so much joy to our family. We love you Abby!

Calvin & Hobbes

I grew up reading Calvin & Hobbes. I still get a little nostalgic whenever I see one of Bill Watterson's masterpieces. I ran across SimplyCH a few days ago and thought I'd share it with other people that love Calvin & Hobbes. Make sure to check out the Calvinball page and in honor of the changing seasons, the Snowmen page.

A Fancy Nancy Jedi FHE

So every 4th Sunday we get together at the Robison's to have FHE. Around Halloween time the little kids all dress up in their costumes. Abby had a great time as "FANCY NANCY" (a lovable character from one of her favorite books) and Bryson loved being a Jedi ( Luke Skywalker) with his little lightsaber. I am not a Halloween fan, but I have to admit that dressing up the kids was a blast. Even if it took me an hour to curl Abby's wig :)
