McKay's Christmas concert was hilarious. The little girl on the left was cracking us up the whole time.
Christmas eve was spent at the Rickses enjoying their traditional Bethlehem Supper. We were even graced with the presence of Lo, the angel of the Lord...aka Whitney, and all of the other characters from the nativity. I was pleased to be a sheep, clearly I have the best baaaaa. And this year there was even a boy for baby Jesus. Lil' Platte played the part phenomenally.
After enjoying the night at Adam's house, we headed back to my house for the traditional everyone-sleep-in-the-family-room-night. We piled in with the thrill of Christmas in the air. I helped McKay put out the cookies for Santa, Biscoff, so good. The reindeer got halfish not very fresh celery, but it was all that we had, and McKay insisted that we leave something for the reindeer.
The next morning we gathered on the stairs, said prayers, blasted the Christmas music, and headed in to see what Santa had brought. Santa did a great job on gifts for everyone. We got a 32" flat screen TV! The chaos of the free-for-all that occurs is one of the funnest things of Christmas.
Soon it was Mom and Dad's turn to open presents. Mom opened a present which contained a tiny little sweater from Jessica and Ezra. Adam and I glanced at each other wondering if the gift meant what we thought it did. But then Jessica called Mazie in, which made no sense in the context of what we were thinking. Come to find out it was a dog sweater, not a baby sweater! We totally thought that they were announcing that they were pregnant hahaha.
Next came family gifts. Every year we draw names to see who we give to. Adam got a sweet cowboy shirt from Karlie and I got an awesome sweater from McKay. Ezra cheated and got little tools for everyone, but no one was complaining. We were pretty proud of our other gifts for our parents, a awesome jacket for dad, and slick biking glasses for mom. Jessica has a thing for the little aliens from Toy Story - not exactly sure why she does - but she got an alien lamp from Ezra, along with freeze dried food to keep them alive in China.

So then Jessica and Ezra say that they have another present for mom and dad and that they have to race to see who can open it first. Next thing you know mom is bawling. The presents were a bib and a binky. Yep, Jessica and Ezra were really announcing that they were pregnant. We are all thrilled for them and their little bundles of joy.
I say bundles, because in January, just two days before heading off to China, they found out that they are having twins. We are so excited for them and can't wait to have two little babies born sometime in July!
The fun continued at the Rickses, where we enjoyed spending time with them and giving and receiving gifts. Adam's parents were all too generous in their gifts as well.
Next was the Sonntag Christmas party. We sat back and enjoyed the festivities, just loving being with family and friends all day.
We are so blessed with wonderful families who we can share Christmas with!
