You make me smile .. with Scrap Matrix

I'm back again with yet another Scrap Matrix layout to share with you ..

You make me smile

Some close ups ..

Loved .. with Scrap Matrix

Morning peeps!

I've another Scrap Matrix project to share with you.

Loved

I've created this layout for the current challenge "How Sweet It Is".

I was inspired by the green (somewhat pistachio-like I thought), the vintage book colour (kind of kraft-y), the love heart, and of course the song lyrics.

Here's a close up or two, or three ..

If you'd like to read about my process, see some step by step photos, and check out all the super yummy products I've used, please pop over to the Scrap Matrix blog and check out my post HERE. Oh and for lots of other Design Team inspiration, hop on over HERE. I look forward to seeing your creation in the Scrap Matrix Shares Facebook page.

'Til next time, happy scrapping peeps!

Winter Road Trip .. with Scrap Matrix

Morning peeps!

Its Monday morning in Melbourne and we are enjoying the most spectacular weather .. balmy, blue sky, light breeze, the sun shining days. I feel like I'm on holidays, despite being at home. Oh for a hammock and a beach right at my front door. lol.

Talking about holidays (lol .. a terrible segway I know), have you seen the current challenge at Scrap Matrix? I'm terribly late with blogging my layout but well you know how it is sometimes when life gets in the way, or you spend too much time swaying in a hammock whilst daydreaming of cocktail waiters plying you with .. see? There I go again, getting all distracted, and I don't even have a hammock!

Winter Road Trip

I blame the Scrap Matrix moodboard ..

.. every time I see it, my mind wanders! Can you blame me???

Even though the mood board is all about summer holidays, this photo of my niece and her gorgeous boy reminds me of summer, perhaps because she epitomises what it is to be a well educated, well travelled, Levy loving, mermaid aspiring, beach bum? But nay, she was on a winter road trip. Nonetheless, it suited the mood board to a tee!

A few close ups ..

You can find lots of information about my creative process for this layout over on the Scrap Matrix blog HERE, and all the information about the challenge and lots of DT inspiration HERE.

You have until the 14th of this month (February) to get your challenge done and uploaded to the Facebook sharing page HERE.

Happy scrapping peeps. I'm off to my hammock, at the beach, cocktail in hand, in my mind, of course ..

Cheers.

Koolest Kids .. with Scrap Matrix

Heh peeps!

I'm so excited to share that a little while ago Vicki at Scrap Matrix asked me to do a guest DT stint for the shop when the monthly challenge would be running. For something different (I love different), the challenge runs from the middle of the month; you can find all the current challenge details HERE. Anyways the current challenge is to feature PaperArtsy products.

Koolest Kids

I've had a heap of fun playing with some JOFY (Jo Firth-Young) and EDY (Darcy) stamp sets. The Darcy butterfly is my new favourite and I will admit, just this once lol, that I've got a serious scrappy girl crush happening on Jo Firth-Young. Her stuff is amazing. Always has been. Love, love love.

Here's a few close ups of my layout. Did I say "a few"? My bad ..

How seriously fabulous is this Darcy butterfly??? I mean seriously?!

I tried something different .. a mini tutorial on stamping with masks .. which I've shared on the Scrap Matrix blog. You can find a link to my post right about HERE.

I'll be back down the track to share another special project I've done for Scrap Matrix and in the meantime encourage you to check out this fabulous store and all its yummy, yummy, yummy mixed media goodness.

Happy scrapping!

You run I'll herd .. with Kraft+

Heh scrappy peeps!

So Ed and I are scrapping today and figured we'd catch up on some housekeeping stuff like photographing layouts, editing photos, unpacking copious online orders, you get the drift yeah? lol! Anyways some of my housekeeping stuff is secret squirrel business which I can't share just yet, but I can share my latest layout which I created for the Kraft+ challenge which is to Think Big!

You run I'll herd

The challenge could not have been more perfect for this photo of my ratbag doogles playing at the beach. I printed it in 6x12 and mounted it on kraft corrugated cardstock by Fancy Pants. This pic was taken at our local, dog dedicated, dog beach. As in all year round, all hours of the day and night, this beach is 100% dog friendly, off lead and all. We are so, so, so lucky to have this beach just down the road, around a few corners and through a few roundabouts lol!

Here's a few close ups ..

I'm loving participating in the Kraft+ challenges again. They really stretch the imagination and push my boundaries. I would never have scrapped this photo this big ever but its the perfect way to have scrapped it. Does that make sense or am I a bit too distracted singing back up for Ed as we chill to make sense? Incidentally, we've just started "Bloodstream" so I'd best be on with it.

If you fancy thinking big with kraft this month you can find all the details you need HERE.

Happy scrapping!

Sit .. with Scrap Our Stash

Morning scrappy peeps!

So I've been scrapping again. I started playing with this background a few days ago but it wasn't really going anywhere. Then November first arrived and with it, a host of new challenges. First off the cab for me was to finish this background with the Scrap Our Stash Tic Tac Toe challenge.

Sit

I chose the vertical strip on the right ..

I already had lots of the colour brown covered with my background. I punched my ovals out of scrap watercolour paper I had done some plain colour washes on, and then pierced them around the edge. I used scraps of burlap (or as us Aussies call it, hessian) I had hanging around, as well as a Charms Creations hessian heart. Some close ups ..

I so enjoy the versatility of the Scrap Our Stash Tic Tac Toe challenges. Mid month they have another challenge, a sketch with a word, such as 'stencil', and you need to use a product starting with the alpha of each letter in the word. For example .. Sewing .. Template .. Embossing powder .. etc. Lots of fun.

Anyways, if you fancy giving the Scrap Our Stash current Tic Tac Toe challenge a go, you can find all the details you need HERE.

Happy scrapping!

Adore YOU .. with Scrap Our Stash

Heh peeps!

I've lost a day. I would have sworn in a court of law that today was Saturday, not Sunday.  :O  I digress. Whilst I was losing yesterday, I scrapped! I bet you that was where I lost my day .. sitting at my scrap table playing with paints and paper. What a lovely way to lose a day.

Adore YOU

I found inspiration in this month's Tic Tac Toe sketch at Scrap Our Stash.

I followed the top line .. the colour orange, cardstock and staples. I used Dylusions Paint (Pure Sunshine), lots of cardstock including my base and old MME strips, which I attached with my Tim Holtz Tiny Attacher. Lots of fun! Here's a few close ups ..

Looking back I think I can see how I lost Saturday lol! Meanwhile, you can find all the details you need for the Scrap Our Stash Tic Tac Toe challenge HERE. But you'd best be quick (super quick) as the challenge closes at midnight on the 29th!

Happy scrapping!

PS: A special shout out to Michelle from Vernon, Vermont for the handmade tag I recently received in a handmade embellishment swap. As I said, I love it and, as planned, have you used it on the very next layout I created. Thank you!  :)

It's a dog's life .. with Let's Get Sketchy

Heh peeps!

I don't know about you but I love a good sketch challenge. Depending on my mood I could follow the sketch almost to a tee, 'liberally' interpret it (wink wink lol), or just see where it takes me and who knows what I might end up with. But that's the beauty of sketches don't you think?

It's a dog's life

I created the above layout using this month's sketch at Let's Get Sketchy ..

A few close ups ..

If you fancy giving this month's sketch challenge at Let's Get Sketchy a go, and there's still time, you can find all the details you need HERE.

Happy scrapping!
