Hayleigh @ 7, 8 and 9 months!

So since I'm behind, I'm going to start by catching up on Hayleighs 1st year milestones. Not really for anyone else's benefit, just more journal purposes and for when I print my blog. :) (good thing I took good notes of milestones!)
 ***HAYLEIGH 7 months (May 2013)***

 This was a fun month! We went out of town overnight for Adam's work and took Hayleigh with. She was such a little angel, even at a 2 hour dinner. Everyone constantly said how happy and cute she is. We went swimming and just hung out, it was a nice little getaway. Some new developments this month:
 -14lbs 3oz, 25" long. Starting to fall off the charts. :)
-Starting to mimic sounds everyone makes, including spitting!
 -Ventured into a few 3-6 month outfits...not too many of those fit yet.
 -Tried more baby food but still not a fan. So we basically gave up and started yogurt, bread, soups, potatoes etc.. and she LOVES it. YEA for soft foods. :)
-Favorite toys are the random things found in mommy's purse.
-Started developing a lot of interest in Mady! so very cute! :)
-Love's sitting like a big girl in her bumbo chair and high chair. :)
 -Takes advantage of any time Daddy lets her cuddle in bed with him!

 ***8 months (June 2013)***

 This was a crazy month for so many firsts! I can't believe how much fun this month was. Hayleigh literally starting mimicking everything...to facial expressions, sounds...etc. This month she went from wanting to be held, to wanting to be on the floor exploring everything! I've had to start vacuuming every day. It's amazing what she can spot on the floor and put in her mouth! She doesn't want to put toys down..so she carries everything in her mouth. :) Her favorite thing to carry in her mouth are nerf bullets and Adam calls them her 'stogies'. lol.
Some milestones:
 -She started crawling! It's so cute to see her chubby little legs get her where she wants to go. 
-Pulled herself up for the first time in her crib!!!! So crazy.
 -She's started feeding herself. She loves to sit in the high chair with food and use her cute pincher fingers to pick stuff up. :)
-Finally cut her 1st tooth and crazy..it was an eye tooth! glad that part passed!
-she's starting holding her own bottle and just showing us how ready she is for some independence! :) I just love this kid.
-We got a little baby back pack for her and she's in love! How did I not have one of these for my other 2 kids??? crazy.
 -We went to the zoo for Noah's birthday and she just screamed and squealed at all the animals. Made it so fun. It seems like she makes everything more fun. Mady and Noah even enjoy her so much; she brings such a sweet spirit to our house.

***9 months (July 2013)***

Wow! This month she is on the MOVE! I forgot how busy a baby this age can be. It sure is fun to watch her explore everything though. :) some fun things that are new this month:
-15lbs 12oz, 26 1/4 "
-Crawling EVERYWHERE and pulling herself up on everything. In went the baby gate!
-Finally in her own room and sleeping through the night.
-says 'ma ma' and 'da da' and seems to actually get who who we are. :)
- she loves to be held! She is very spoiled so she usually gets what she wants.
-A favorite past time is standing at the glass doors and watching the kids play outside.
- loved our new pool that we set up this year! She would just love sitting in her pool float!
-Got to enjoy her first 4th of July....although she cried through most of the fireworks because it was WAY past her bed time, but we still had fun. lol.


-We also went on a trip to Park City for 6 days. It was SO nice to get away. Jamie and Dal came with us and the kids had so much fun. :) We love Park City. I know it's not all the exciting to everyone, but to us, it's awesome...our kids talk about it for weeks before and weeks after. It's just a nice getaway. :)

APRIL- Hayleigh's 6 months!

Our little Hayleigh Ann is half a year old! I can't believe we've had her in our family that long..it's gone by so fast. Some days I'm sad to see her get bigger, sad to see the changes happen so quickly, sad to leave each and every stage behind......but other days (most days) I relish in her growth and sweet spirit. She is such a good baby, and to see her eyes light up at the new things she discovers is amazing. She's discovered that we have a dog and a cat...and she loves to watch them. It makes her giggle...and that sound is music to my ears. I love that she is seeing the world around her.  We celebrated our 10 year anniversary in Jackson Hole and she loved to go swimming. Loved to splash in the water. She's a fun little companion. She gets a lot of one on one mommy time while Mady and Noah are in school. We enjoy our occasional lunch dates with Grandma Kelli!

Some updates....
-She rolled over on March 18th! She just giggled! I think it surprised her.
-Went swimming for the 1st time!
-Got her ears pierced this last month! She did great....Mady...not so much. ha ha. She had no desire to watch.
-Still in 0-3 month clothes and size 2 diapers....I'm waiting for the day that update will change! We go to the Dr Monday for her 6th month check up and will know her stats then!
-We've tried a apples and pears...no luck. She gags! horribly.
-She's become a huge spitter!!! holy cow! It's crazy...her shirt will be soaked from her spitting. lol.
-She's becoming a huge jabber mouth and squealer. "Da da da da!" yeah...Adam thinks she is saying Dad. HA!
-Still a huge mommy's girl. It is getting increasingly difficult to get ANYTHING done around the house. I seriously need to just strap her to me. Some days I get frustrated. Other days I let the house go to crap and I snuggle her like crazy. I love Mady and Noah...and I'm glad that they've become the independent, amazing kids that they have. But I also realize how quickly these days will be gone with Hayleigh. How right now, she needs me and wants nothing more then to be held and cuddled. So some days...I just forget everything and cherish those moments.
-While nursing or being rocked to sleep, she constantly has to have her fingers in your mouth! I don't get it! but she will claw your lips like crazy!
-She had her first Easter! There's nothing like getting a baby girl all dolled up for Easter! ha ha. Love it.
-She's still tipsy...but she's trying to sit up alone! She just looks too little. :)

Hayleigh 5 months-March

Just playing catch up!
Hayleigh is just such a fun little peanut! We enjoy her every day. Her giggles and smiles are coming so easy now. We've put her crib up in our room and have taken down the bassinet. We are working on finishing up the rooms downstairs so we can get all the kids where they need to be. that really needs to be our top priority! It will be hard moving her into her own room, it was hard moving her across the room! lol. I'm a big baby. Adam went out of town for a few days at the end of February and mommy got a big wake up call! Playing single mommy is not on my bucket list! EVER! :-) But we survived. And I ended the days with cuddles from this cute face!

JUST A FEW UPDATES ON THIS ADORABLE PEANUT!
-She is super happy! love her happy smiles.
-She's sleeping in her crib in our room. And our days of sleeping through the night went way out the window. :( This little girl needs to be in her own room)
-She is sooo close to rolling over but can't quite figure out how to get her arms out of the way!
-Still in 0-3 month clothes and size 2 diapers! She isn't going anywhere fast!
-She is a pro at taking a bottle for Daddy!
-She's eaten rice cereal a couple times and then all of a sudden decided it was disgusting. seriously....full body-shivering-gags. lol. It's kind of funny.
-She is a HUGE mommy's girl. If she sees me across the room...it is full out wimpering, pouty lip, tears! As soon as I walk over she gets giggly and squirmy. She's adorable.
-We were at Jonny Carinos the other night and a random waitress came over to tell us how cute she is. She said that all the waitresses have been distracted around the room because she's so adorable! ha ha. we agree!
-Mady is great with her and is my amazing baby sitter so I can get in the shower. She loves her Mady. No one can get her to giggle like Mady can! It's so sweet.


This is her temperament 99% of the time. Just looking at her can make anyone smile! (However...after we picked her up out of this laundry basket, we realized she'd had a diaper blow out in our clean clothes!!!) oh the joys! We sure wouldn't trade her for anything in the world!

February -HAYLEIGH'S 4 MONTHS!

Good thing I kept notes, because I am behind on blogging!! Hayleigh turned 4 months on February 17th.

 We're still enjoying the heck out of her! That definitely hasn't changed. :) A few fun facts about 'Lil Miss
 -At her 4 month check up she weighted in at 12 lbs and 23 1/2 inches long. That puts her in the 10th percentile for weight and 14th for height. Her head circumference is in the 6th %...so overall she's a teeny little girl. healthy, just small.
 -Our Dr found her long tongue, that is always hanging out of her mouth, hilarious. He asked if she cleans her belly button with it and is determined it's the only thing on her that is growing!
-Still in 0-3 month clothes.
 -still has to sleep swaddled, but is getting more wiggly and trying to roll over.
 -LOVES her Mady, and by 'love'...I mean...no matter how crabby she is, Mady can get her to smile. She doesn't laugh for anyone the way she laughs for Mady. -Still sleeping through the night, only wakes up occasionally.
-But our biggest milestone....SHE'S TAKING A BOTTLE!!!!!!!! I was starting to think she would never give in. Adam could hardly believe it himself. As soon as she latched on, he every so quietly and slowly got his  phone out and took a picture, because he thought nobody would believe him. lol.
 -She's no longer sucking her thumb, but she is taking a pacifier! She'll be our 1st binky baby...not sure how I feel about that for sure. But it is super helpful in the car, store, restaraunt etc...
-She has crazy 'mommy pains' if anyone is holding her and I'm in the same room.
 -She's got daddy wrapped around her finger and whenever I'm at work, she gets to sleep in our bed with Dad. She's pretty spoiled and already knows how to get her way
<<<.-This how we get Mady's hair done for school. As long as she can see Mady, we are good to go.

!We had a crabby baby while grocery shopping and this was our answer. After that we had a very happy baby!

This peanut is sure a lot of fun!!!!

Goodbye MMH

Today was the last day I was considered employed at Madison Memorial Hospital. I've worked there for exactly 11 years and 3 months. I was hired in housekeeping in October of my senior year in high school. That hospital saw me through my high school graduation, marriage, nursing school, and the birth of all 3 kids; I've worked in 4 different departments. I've made more friends there then I think I could count. I have been so lucky to work with some of the smartest, most amazing people, and I'm privileged to call some of the best doctors in town my friends.  I will miss all of that so much. I will miss the midnight talks with the housekeepers,  Nori saving me cinnamon rolls from the snack bar and her awesome country chicken that she makes.More then anything I will miss the all night talks with some of the greatest nurses & HUC's, the yummy potluck lunches/breakfasts that the day shift does (including Dr. Lee's amazing pancakes!), and just being part of what I felt was an amazing team.

For almost 2 years now, I've carried on the 2 jobs. And after a lot of thought and prayer....we've decided that my kids need my extra hours and time, not the hospital. So while I'm very sad to say goodbye, part of me feels like a huge weight has been lifted. Now I'm only responsible for two 12 hr shifts a week, instead of 3-4 and just BEGGING for call. It's just become too overwhelming. I hope that some day I will find my place back there, but we'll see. I think this is going to be a great change for our family. I cried for several days, but now I mostly feel peace.

Now my extra focus and time can be on these 3 amazing blessings that we have!

Hayleigh is 3 months!!

I can't believe how fast 3 months has gone by! so crazy. I can't believe how much fun she is and how much we enjoy her. She just adds something special to our home. We all live to see her smiles and hear her giggles every day. Especially Mady. :) She's my little baby sitter while I take a shower or cook dinner. I'll ask her to go do something that she'll have to leave Hayleigh's side, and she'll say, "But mom! Hayleigh will get sad!" She's such a blessing to our family. We are so blessed to have THREE amazing blessings. :) It doesn't seem like it's been that long since Mady was 3 months old. Except I'm much less up tight, lol. It let's me enjoy each day a little more.

So what is our Little Miss Hayleigh like at 3 months?
-As of today, she weighed 11lbs even.
-She giggled for me the 1st time on New Years Eve! SO CUTE!
-She's reaching out for toys when she sits in her bouncy chair. She has a toy bar above the pad on her changing table and as soon as we lay her down, she coos and kicks her legs and talks to her 'friends'. She especially loves the monkey. We got her a play mat and she loves that.
-I went back to work. :( As if that wasn't bad enough, She won't take a bottle. AT ALL. We've heard every amount of advice possible, and this isn't our first go round. I own every bottle out there now! We've done it warm, warmer, cooler, this nipple, that nipple, feed her when she's half asleep, wrapped in my clothes....you name it. It's not the bottle or the nipple, it's that it isn't me. As soon as it hits her mouth, she's is red-faced, screaming. I've been in tears at work because there's nothing I can do, while Adam has been close to tears at home. ;( Some nights she's eaten at 6:15 when I leave, and not again until 8:15 when I get home the next morning.
-She still sleeps through the night. Maybe once a week she wakes up.
-When I hold her, she loves to rub her face on mine. :)
-When Adam goes to kiss her, she squints up her eyes and squirms because of his facial hair. But when he kisses her neck, she will giggle. :)
-She has become a pro thumb sucker! At first I tried to stop it, but now we've kind of decided, "what can it hurt?" Plus it soothes her when I'm gone. (we'll re-visit the issue in 6 months or so if it's still going on)
-She enjoyed her 1st Christmas and Santa got her a bumbo chair. She loves to sit in it at dinner time and be a big girl on the dinner table.
-She's starting to get super attached to mom and dad. Once she realizes we aren't holding her or she can't see us...her eyes start welling up and her bottom lip goes out. ;) funny girl.

She's such an amazing little girl! We feel so lucky to be able to enjoy her every day!

Back to work....

3 more days. That's it. It's very hard to swallow and I've tried really hard not to think about it too much. I go back on Friday. I've loved staying home and getting to enjoy my kids and family every day. I love who I am when I'm sleeping every night and up by 7:30-8:00 every morning. Working nights is hard. I love my job, but there's really no getting around the fact that it is tough trying to go on very little sleep and be the happy mom, wife...etc. I can't sleep at night and then I have a hard time waking up in the morning. I don't like what the loss of sleep makes of me! lol. I do it because I like to keep my kids out of daycare. That has always been my goal, as long as it were possible. I love the people I work with and I love my job, which is why I went to school to be a nurse. It's a very fulfilling thing. But so is staying at home. I'm very jealous of the mom's who are able to do it! It's hard to face the possibility that it may never be in the cards for me. I can keep praying right?? and believe me, I do. I feel like I enjoy my kids so much more when I'm 'normal'. I have a lot of night-shifter-friends who can identify with that I'm sure. :) Adam has had lot's of people tell him to "go to the oil fiends"....which would make me able to stay home. But we've thought about it and it's not worth it. I've got my husband home for lunch every day, he's home by 6 every night and he has decent benefits. Most weekends and all holidays off. I don't think I would be any happier if I had him for 1 week out of the month. That would be worse.  I am in a debate whether to try and get someone to come to my house a few hours in the morning to help with the kids....maybe that would help. Or maybe somewhere for the older ones to go for a bit. One huge problem is that I've got a little baby that almost refuses to take a bottle! It's been horrible. I've tried everything....the right temp, 50 different bottles, when she's awake, when she's half asleep, leaving the house so Adam is the only one home...you name it, we've done it. She gets so upset that 2 different times she's completely vomited everywhere! Scary amounts of vomit. We've had 2 successful attempts in the last couple days that is giving me a little comfort. It sure doesn't make the stress of going back to work any easier. We're not giving up yet......
Having said all that...I am determined to try and go back to work with the best attitude possible. I know I will fight tears many days...but I do find joy in some of the amazing people I get to take care of and work with. I've done it twice before, I can do it again. Heck! with Noah I was working 2 nights a week and going to school 2-3 days a week. I still don't know how I did it. But if I did that, I can do this, right??
(Anyhow, just needed to get this off my chest...there is a much happier Christmas post below this! so read on! :) )

Christmas at the Huntsman's! :)

We had a pretty awesome Christmas in our house. It was so nice not to be working. December is by far the busiest month at the hospitals! and it was so nice to just make lots of yummy meals, bake with my kiddos, be able to attend EVERY Christmas party and just watch movies every night. I absolutely loved it. The best part? Not being so tired that I didn't want to do anything! This year was a lot of fun. We started off by welcoming our Elf Christopher. Santa brought him with some new jammies for the kids. Mady was SUPER excited. Noah was like..."ummm...he's just a toy" lol. But then we watched the movie and he got really excited. :) Our Elf got into tons of mischief! :) Our kids woke up every morning, running around to find him.

We of course Made our annual "goody plates". those are always fun! well...not so much making them...but delivering them and seeing all our friends.

On Christmas Eve we were actually pretty lazy. :) it was kind of nice. Well other then the fact that I needed a few things for breakfast and dinner the next day. but I've learned my lesson...I will NEVER go to the store on Christmas Eve...EVER, EVER, EVER AGAIN. ugh. Anyhow... That night we went to Adam's Dad & Terri's. We ate lots of yummy food, including Jeff's awesome shrimp. We opened gifts and watched A Christmas Story. it was a nice relaxing evening.

On the way home we drove around and looked at Christmas lights. We drove up the temple and they had this beautiful Nativity set up. Just gorgeous.

We got home and the kids opened their Christmas jammies and left cookies and milk for Santa, and carrots and celery for the reindeer. They were pretty excited! The excitement of little kids is what makes the season so magical. I just love it.

Mady was up bright and early at 7:00. She'd already got Noah up and they'd checked out their Santa stuff and dug into their stockings. :) They were bouncing off the walls and ready to open presents. The loved everything they got and have been pretty occupied with the new toys this last couple weeks!

After presents we enjoyed a yummy breakfast of french toast, coconut syrup, bacon and hash browns. very yummy!

 I couldn't help myself. I always laughed at people who bought matching outfits for their kids. But I couldn't help it! It looks like those "me and my doll" things! ha ha.















We all took naps and them had dinner with my mom and John and opened presents again!

We were all stuffed by the end of the day and everyone was spoiled! The best part of Christmas is getting to spend it with family. And while this Christmas was a little different and there were a lot of people we missed.... it was very laid back and we got to enjoy our kids very much. :) And in the end I guess that is what it's all about. Well that and focusing on the birth of our Savior. :) It's so great as our kids get older how they understand so much, and enjoy the movies and stories. We made a cake for Christmas dinner and Mady said it was Jesus birthday cake. :) So sweet of her. Hope everyone else had a very Merry Christmas!
