Santa.....I know him!

I can't believe its Christmas already! I love Christmas and just holidays in general. Steve doesn't understand why I love them so much but its just fun to decorate and celebrate a holiday with someone. Especially this year! We are staying in Utah this year for Christmas so this will be our first Christmas together. :) It's so fun to be with your loved one. We will spend Christmas Eve with my family and then Christmas day we will have it together. I love Christmas so we can be with the ones we love and remember what the true meaning of Christmas is. Remembering our Savior Jesus Christ and his birth. I am so grateful for my Savior and I am so grateful for my husband Steve. He is the Best Husband in the World. :)

Now for the fun part. :) Last year I had to quote Elf and I just need to continue this tradition. Hope you enjoy!

Buddy the Elf. What's your favorite color?
I painted a picture of a butterfly
Oooo...suckie...very suckie
He's an angry elf
But the children love the books
Watch out the yellow ones..they don't stop
You did it! Great job everyone.
You look very purpley in that dress

Code of Elves
Treat everyday like Christmas
There's room for everyone on the nice list
The best way to spread Christmas cheer is singing loud for all to hear

I hope you all spread Christmas cheer this year. We can't wait for next year's adventures together. We love you all. Merry Christmas and have a Happy New Year!

Love Ashley and Steve

A month already!

I know, I know! It's been to long since I have blogged. You would think being married now you would have more time to blog etc but No. It's the opposite for me. We have been so busy with school, work and student council stuff. I think Steve wishes he hadn't married a Student Life girl cause now he has to actually go to my events and gets to help me out with publicity too! I love him for that. He is so great. He is patient with me when my stress level is high. Thanks babe! We get to go to Michigan on Tuesday for Thanksgiving and we are excited about that. I'm not too excited about the cold but excited to see Steve's hometown etc. It should be fun but weird...its my first Thanksgiving away from my family but I will get to see my parents that Saturday as we are having our Open House in Michigan that day. So, it shouldn't be that bad. People keep asking me "How is married life" It's WONDERFUL! We love every min. of it and are growing together more and more. The only thing that I have a hard time with is saying my name is Ashley Anderson. One time I said my name was Ashley OOO...ldson. OOPS! I had to later tell him it was Ashley Anderson cause he was friends with Steve. lol It was a great moment for me. :) But we love our new lives together and I can't believe its already been a month! Time flies by! I will try to blog more. Maybe I will start a new blog with Steve's name in it cause he LOVES to blog even though he wont admit it. ;) Hope you enjoy some of the pictures I have posted. If anyone has more pictures from our wedding I would LOVE to see them as we probably wont see ours for another month or two! :( Happy Thanksgiving and I hope you remember all that you are thankful for and make sure others know you are thankful for them. I know I am thankful for Steve! He is the world's greatest Husband! I love you babe and thanks for putting up with me! LOVE YOU! :)

Future Mrs. Anderson

5 more days and I will be the new Mrs. Anderson! :) I am soooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo excited the day is almost here. A lot of people are asking me if I am nervous or ready and YES I am ready for it to be October 15th and no i am actually not nervous yet. These past two months have gone by so fast (maybe not for Steve) and I have stayed busy with school stuff instead of wedding stuff. This week has been another eventful week. Monday night was my big Family Night that I put on for Inaugural Week at UVU. Wednesday night was the Ball and Thursday night Steve MC for UVU's Got Talent. It was a crazy/busy week. Friday night we went to visit my Best Friend in the whole world...Lacie cause she just had her third baby. Baby Carter was born Oct. 9th 2009. He was 8 lb. 12 oz. 21 inches long. He is so stinkin cute! Looks like his daddy but with a Ferguson nose. So with wedding stuff taken care of by my lovely mother I have had time for my school events and homework. I can't wait until we go on our cruise and have a little vacation. Mexico here we come October 16th anyways. ;) I can't wait to be Mrs. Anderson and can't wait to see all you at my reception. Hope you can all make it. Here are some pictures from Inaugural Ball night. Also check out photographybymckenzie.com to check out my bridals. Love them! :)

Engagements!!!!

So we finally have taken our engagements and are finally getting them sent out! I know right...its about time. :) Well the engagements turned out great thanks to Photo shop. I still had a friend on my chin right under my lip so sweet Matt photo shop out my friend for me. Thank you Matt! :) Matt was so great with us. He did our engagements for our wedding gift and did a great job! He was so patient with us and with Steve especially! ;) jk love you Steve! We had a great time taken pictures and just being silly. Now we all need to pray that I wont get anymore cold sores aka "friends" for my bridals at the end of this month. Even better let's just pray I don't get anymore this year! :)

Here is the picture we are using for our announcements

I LOVE this picture but...this is not the good one. The photo shop one was too big to post so i had to use the unphoto shop one. Danger...Don't look to close or you will see my friend. :)

I like to call this one our Superhero shot...its just fun!

We are just so stinky cute together! :)

School+Stress="Friends"

Everyone keeps asking me how my Wedding plans are coming. I keep saying GREAT cause they are. I don't have to do anything!!!!! My mom is the most wonderful person in the world and said she would plan my wedding for me. So you are probably wondering why School+Stress="Friends" then right? :) Well you would think being "stressed" from wedding stuff would cause my HUGE Cold Sores on my lip/chin but no...its from school. My first week of school went by and I thought I handle it pretty well considering the first week of school was our WOW Week (Week of Welcome) We brought in Mad Chad who is a chainsaw juggler, a drive in movie, green out dance and a sunrise to finish it off. They all turned out great but last Sunday I woke up with a "friend" on my lip. I am taking Valtrex now so hopefully they will be gone by Saturday cause we are taking our engagements then. :/ I know this may sound gross but right now my "friends" are crusting over so they are at the end of their lives right now. :) YAY! But other then my "friends" I am doing great. My mom on the other hand is a little more stressed about the wedding stuff :) This is her third wedding so I am not worried. She does a fantastic job and I am so grateful for her. She is the best mom ever! So wedding stuff going well, school is going well so far. I am taking 12 credits so I don't have that much on my plate. I can't wait till October 15th to get here! I am so ready to be married to Steve already. He is so wonderful. He has been putting up with my school stress, wedding stuff and now my cold sores. He is wonderful! I love him! :) Things are wonderful in my life now cause I have Steve and I am the luckiest girl in the world. Keep your fingers crossed my friends go away this week. :)

I'm in Love, I'm in Love and I don 't care who knows it!

Well its official! I am in engaged!!!!!! I know its about time I blog about it right! Sorry Dani! Here are pictures of my ring and the story of how Steve proposed. :)
Once upon a time there was a girl named Ashley and a boy named Steve! We meet each other on Student Council at UVU. Our first date was back in May and it was down hill from there. :) Steve proposed July 23, 2009. (side note: I didn't think Steve had the ring because it was suppose to be ready July 25th) Anyways, he asked if I wanted to go a picnic. I said sure so after work that day we headed up Provo Canyon. He asked if there was a spot I wanted to go to but I didn't know of any so we stopped at Bridal Veil Falls the looking point and started setting up our picnic. When we got out of the car he said he had made me something. I asked if I could have it now and he said sure. So he pulled out a scrapbook he had made (all by himself!) and I started looking through it. It was pictures of us dating and the trips we have been on. Then on the last page was a picture of my ring and us with our Mickey Mouse ears on that were a bride and groom and the words Will you Marry Me? He then got down on one knee and proposed. It was so cute and perfect! He is the best thing that has ever happened to me. I love just love him! :) So right after he proposed a bunch of people started showing up so we packed up our picnic stuff and went to find another spot to finish our meal. It was a great day and I will always remember it! Thanks Steve! :) And they lived happily ever after!

This is the picture that was in my scrapbook

Us at Bridal Veil Falls right after he proposed

Our picnic...he made PB&J, chips and cookies

Don't look at my wrinkly hands...just my baby! :)

Prom A night to Remember!

Yes we went to Prom together and Yes it was a night to remember! Thanks to my cute friend Megan and her fun ideas...she put on a Prom night in her backyard in Lindon. It was semi-formal, pictures, DJ (IPOD baby), refreshments, and Prom King and Queen. It was a night to remember for sure. Steve came to pick me up at my house and we headed out. We just got to the stop sign under the bridge by my house when we got rear ended. Great way to start out our night right? Well it only gets better! :) So, Steve gets out and asks the kid if he is okay and they start talking about if they need to call the police. I get out of the car, look at the damage and said we need to call the police. So the other drive was like...well lets pull over to the side to get out of the way and so we agreed since there was a line of cars behind us. Well we pull over to the side and wait for the other drive to pull over...does he? NO! He takes off driving so Steve jumps back into his car and we follow the idiot! We take down his license plate number, make and model while we are chasing him down highland drive going about 90 mph. This kid was driving so fast! We think he was drunk cause when he first got out of the car he was popping gum into his mouth and then while he was driving he was swerving. Anyways, we chase him to another light but then we lose him, so we pull over and call the police. We waited about 10 min. until the Police finally came. (It was Draper Days that day so most of the police were there) The officer came and said the car was a rental but they were working with the rental place to get his info etc. To make this story a little shorter, they got the info from the rental place and tracked down his info. etc. Then they were going to go over to his house to give him a ticket. If not then they said he would have a warrant out for his arrest. :) During all of this Steve is was amazing! He was so calm during the whole thing. I am not going to lie, I would have been TICKED! But he was just calm and made sure I was okay and that is all that mattered to him. His bumper has a few scratches in it but the other car had a lot more damage. After our adventure Steve was wonderful and still wanted to go to Prom with me. He is so great! His car gets damage and we chase after a car and he still wants to make me happy and go to Prom with me. So we get to Prom an hour and half late take our Prom picture and dance the night away. It was a magical night, thanks to my lover! ;)

Prom 2009 A Night to Remember (ironically the theme was A night to Remember!)

Megan and her cute decorations! Thanks Megan! You did a wonderful job!

Disneyland and California

The happiest place on earth is all I can say for our adventure in Disneyland! :) Saturday July 11: I woke up at five in the morning in pain. My neck/back was hurting so bad I must have slept on it wrong or something. But i thought to myself "Of course this would happen on the day I get to see Steve and go to Disneyland!" But I never let that change my mind about going. So I took a muscle relaxant and flew to California for the weekend. I was a little out of it on the plane but I just took a short little nap and I was good when I landed in California. :) After Steve picked me up from the airport we were off to Disneyland. It truly is the happiest place on earth. Everyone is so happy there and you saw a lot of Birthdays, Anniversaries, and first timers at the park. I had to promise Steve I would kiss him on every ride cause that was one of his wishes. Lets pause and back track a little. :)
Steve LOVES Disneyland. lol You would think he was a little kid when he either talks or is at Disneyland. It was so much fun to be there with him. The funny thing is he has really only been to Disneyland like 5 times but he LOVES it! So we stood in line forever on rides and just had a blast together. After the amazing firework show I was in a lot of pain again so i ended up taking my muscle relaxant again and I was out of it by 10:30. Steve just started laughing at me cause I was out of it and we headed home. The next day we ended up going to San Diego because of my dear friend Mandy at work said she would cover my shift. Thanks Mandy!

A for Ashley and Anderson cute!

You can't go to Disneyland without one of these :)

I never really knew how short Mickey was until this picture.

So I have NEVER been on Space Mountain or at least that I can remember. It had been like 11 years since I had been to Disneyland. So I was excited to Finally ride Space Mountain.

While we were on the ride (which by the way I LOVED! Favorite ride by far in Disneyland) Steve yells to me "KISS MEEEEE! So i did lol Yeah he just wanted a picture of it on the ride. He would! lol The guy behind us just laughed and said I saw that! lol He thought it was funny.

Sunday we went to the beach, San Diego temple, and visited with some Steve's favorite people while he was on his mission. It was an amazing trip! Thanks Steve!

Ahh...the beach. How I miss it!

Well....I do!

Us at the beach

I love the San Diego temple if I lived there I would be getting married in that temple. It is a special temple to the both of us cause I went to the Open House before it was dedicated and he served his mission in San Diego so it was funny to be there together.

We had a blast in Disneyland and California. It was fun to stay with the family Steve LOVED on his mission. They were a great family. I just wish I could have hung out with them more because of course I was in so much pain again I had to take a muscle relaxant again so I was out by 9:30 on Sunday. :) But they all understood and had fun without me in the swimming pool and deep frying Twinkies! lol I know right...Sick! Steve said they were actually good. :) Monday we headed home. What a LONG drive. Next time we go to California we are flying!!!!!!

Disneyland Baby!

The happiest place on earth and I get to be there and with Steve! :) Steve has been gone for two weeks doing EFY in California and I am so excited to see him again! I leave tomorrow for LA and then we will be going to Disneyland till it closes. Its going to be a short trip cause we are coming home sunday cause I have to work on monday but I can't wait! I will post pictures when I get back. :)

Vegas Baby!! :)

So my boyfriend Steve came down for my Tri after a week of EFY. Bless his heart. He woke up at like seven in the morning to make it in time to see me finish and he would have but when he came to the park, he didn't have cash on him to come into the national park so he missed me crossing the finish line. :( Thanks for the effort though babe!:) Anyways, he came down to St. George we went golfing, bowling and just hung out with my family. The next day Steve and I went to Vegas Baby! Don't worry...Elvis didn't marry us. ;) Steve had never been to Vegas besides a Vegas Show so I showed him around. We went and saw Jersey Boys, did the whole strip thing and just had fun. We stayed at my Aunt house for the night and stayed up late with my twin cousins who were having a Sleepover! We got to bed really late that night. Thanks Twins! ;) We have so much fun together and had a blast in Vegas! :)

We are so cute together!

Golfing baby! Steve LOVES to golf and I love to drive the cart! lol

The ghetto bowling alley in Sand Hollow lol Memories!

M&M Factory

Coca Cola Factory. If you haven't experienced the favors around the world at the factory you need to go test them out! Beverly is the BEST! lol ;)

And the winner is....

MMMMEEEEE!!!! I finished another Tri without killing myself! lol I am happy to report I beat my time from last year. 1 hr. and 51 min. this year. YAY!!! Took off 8 min. :) I also best my brother and another guy on the Adams team time. I am very proud of myself. :) If you have read Sara's blog already she has told you Team Adams won but she is WRONG! No one really won. If you want to get down to it, Team Oldson won by a few min. minus Jordan's time he had to take to fix his bike. If that was me and I had that bike I totally would have given up. I have to give the race to Jordan for biking 14 miles on a beach cruiser! Power to you Jordan! :) I am really happy about my race and might even do one in October again with my brother in laws and Steve!!! ;) We well have to see about that though. I am not sure if I want to train again. Even though I didn't train as much as I did last year for my tri. I had fun and actually enjoy doing them. Michelle from my work told me they were addicting and I said "Yeah right!" but they kind of are. I loved it. Hope you enjoy the pictures!

I did it! I finished the race!

Lookin Hot...I know!

Showing off my guns...lol can you see them? I know its hard!

Team Oldson before the swim

My creative sister in law Amy made this sign for us! She is amazing! Thanks Amy!

Here we go again!

Pretty sure you can just call me crazy! Yes, I am! I am heading down to St. George tomorrow for another Triathlon. I know right! Who in their right mind does two? O wait....Me! :) So this year I don't feel as prepared as last year's tri. In fact I KNOW I am not as prepared as my last one. I think this time I have been so busy that it has been harder to train. I am not saying this as an excuse but its true! This year all my brothers are doing it. So I can really prove to my brother Spencer that I can bet him! :) Although this year its the Oldson's vs. the Adam's! Let the best team win! Of course its going to Team Oldson! lol (keep your fingers crossed) But I just think its funny how the boys always have to turn things into competitions. I don't think I will ever understand that. I just want to be able to finish this one! lol So wish me luck again! If I don't make the swim on this one....which might be a possibility since I haven't practiced as much, just know I love you all! I will let you know our victory after the Tri. :)

More Haiti Pictures!

So here are some more pictures. Sorry they are not in order but at least I got them posted! :)

How I missed my DP while I was gone. As soon as I got on the plane for home I told the flight attendant that I needed not just a cup of DP but a whole can! :)

Waving Goodbye to Haiti! Tell we meet again!

Excited to go back home

Sherry, me and mom on the plane ride home! We love the United States!

We played A LOT of card games at night. Scum, Nertz, Hand and Foot and Hearts

I was the King a lot in Scum...can you tell!

Who said White girls can't jump?

I love him! Doesn't that smile just melt your heart? He put his arm around me for this picture.

Yes...they had a Domino's and we took full advantage of it! It tasted SOOOOO good!

Mefibochet is where we did our Caregiver School

Tessa painted this picture on one of the walls at Mefibochet. I helped her paint in the checker heart balloon and all the hearts. :)

Two cute Down Syndrome girls at Mefibochet

They all loved the parachutes me and Sara donated. Thanks Sara!

Our Team picture

This is St. Joseph place. This is a building where they take the kids off the streets and help them get back on their feet. They put on performances and go around the world doing so.

This kid has an amazing story. He has CP but walked out and danced for us! I have his book if you want to read about him.

These boys can Drum! I have never seen someone play the drums as fast as they could. It was amazing!

One of the dances they performed.

They are amazing!

Lunch time at a "crush" (children who are being adapted out)

They sure did have the system down

This is Whoopi Goldberg as one of the caregivers told us! I can kind of see it! lol

This little man was the biggest Flirt!

The children loved to come up to you and touch your hair or arm. This was at a school next to one of the crushes we went to.

Everywhere we went when the Haitians found out the three white boys spoke their language they would surround them and talked their ears off. Of course the returned missionaried loved it!

Look at that smile! Every orphanage that we went to you had some child with a smile like his. It just melts my heart.

Passing stickers out. It was always a hit with stickers! Of course I had to show them what they were and how to put it on.

Children would always come up to us begging for food. These group of children are sharing some trial mix we had left over from a plane ride to Haiti.

LOL this is my mom being pushed up the rock by the Haitians at the waterfall we went to in Jacmel

This is my reaction to trying coconut for the first time! lol

It was sick!

I played with this cute little girl in the Jacmel clinic. So cute!

This is a view from out Hotel in Jacmel

It was so beautiful

Market time in Haiti

Church in Haiti

Everywhere we went we passed out toys, dolls, and balls to the children

This baby was just a few weeks old. So cute!

My church friends in Haiti

This is me behind Jan (our team leader) about to jump off the waterfall

All the Haitians watched us "whites" jump from the waterfall

Just taking some pills! ;)

Reading to the children

"Dr. Justin" and mom giving vitamins to all the children that came in

The Haitian women carry everything on their heads.

This cute little lady came into the clinic wanting us to help her see again but we couldn't do anything for her. She kept begging for something so we ended up giving her some vitamins. It was so sad that we couldn't help her. She was such a cute old lady.

This is how everyone washes their clothes

You saw artwork like this everywhere!

This is a Tap Tap...basically a truck or bus painted and people would just pile into them to get around.
