Konnor got tubes today!

So after about 6 ear infections in 8 months we got tubes in Konnors ears this morning. He was all laughs and playing till they took him away, the anesthesiologist picked him up and ran so not to prolong the crying that they figured to be inevitable. Man they got lucky he only cried till the got to the operating room then he stopped cause he had so many new things to look at. Then he was just waking up when we got to him after his surgery. Seriously how can something that takes less than 15 minutes to do cost so stinking much, oh well its worth every penny so he doesnt have the same speach delays caused by fluid in his ears as Keegan has. Once we got to him with his paci and blanket he cuddled Zane right up and slept for 45 min then popped right up and was his happy self again. They were totally shocked they say most kids scream the whole time they are there when they arent sleeping. We laughed because thats what Keegan did when he got tubes in June of 07.

Please ignore the carpet burn on his nose. A little girl at the gym tried helping him do something and oops an ouchy followed suit. And perfect timing of year he looks like a little rudolph.

Thanksgiving Break

We had a very busy Thanksgiving weekend. My brother Heath and his family came out from Midland, sadly he could only be here for one day so we did our chirstmas exchange for the kids Thanksgiving night. We also had my gma and gpa Mikkelsen come out from Tennessee, it was so good to get to see them again.
Heres the lowdown of our busy weekend.
Thursday I worked till 10 am came home got the guys and went to Calli's house for the days activities. We had all our family thats in the area over so that was 35 people, lots of crazy fun. They had set up tvs in their bonus room for the wii and xbox360 so the kids and kid like adults could be entertained another tv for videos for the littler kiddos, they all loved it. We had lots of yummy food, thanks everyone for the delicious feast. Then after the football game was over everyone but us OBriens had left so we did your gift exchange.

Then Friday everyone came out to our house and we hung out and then went to our traditional pizza dinner, this night we chose Palios our usual lately.

Then Saturday we went back out to Calli's and we went to a holiday activity in Colleyville. There was pony rides, balloon artist, bounce houses, santa, train rides, petting zoo and more. The kids had a blast you never would have guessed it to be as cold as it was were were out in it for 3 hrs. Afterward we had my bday treats then we came home but others went to a christmas play.

Gma Wrights visit

We were lucky to have Zane's gma visit us the beginning of November. We loved having her here with us. We hadn't seen her since Keegan was Konnor's age, which means she hadn't met Konnor yet. We were so glad that our boys warmed up so fast since it was a short visit, they usually take forever to warm up to people. They were instant buddies, this gives us high hopes for Christmas when we will be in Portland for 2 weeks.

Gma, Keegan, Zane and Konnor

The boys love to play baseball on the Wii, they even got gma playing they had a blast. This is gma pitching and Keegan batting. It was so cute Keegan was showing her how to do it.

I have more pictures on my phone of them at the carousel I will try to get them on. Here they are now.

Gotta love a gma who will get on the horses with the kiddos. Its just to bad the guy running it told her she had to get down. She looked like she was having so much fun up there.

Happy Halloween

We had a fun filled day started with the previous post party, then we hung out all day relaxing at home until 430 then we headed to the outlet mall or tick-or-treating till 615 then off to a 3 ward trunk-or-treat party.

At the Allen Outlet Mall, after the first store Keegan remembered what was going on and got right onto having fun. He even was saying "tik a tet" and "sanks" it was so cute! Konnor figured it out really quick. I love how when others put the treats in their bucket how little ones can get away with the look of um I wanted to do that and can get to grab their own to put in. They had lots of fun getting candy but just a bit too much walking around for them, they wanted to sit down on every bench we passed and wanted to eat every sucker that was put in their bag right then. Konnor was in heaven I havent given him a sucker before then.

Then we had a 45 minute break for dinner and then we were off to our wards Halloween Trunk-or-Treat party. It was three wards combined since these three were part of two this summer. It was also a lot of fun getting to see friends we hadnt seen in a while. Less walking for the boys this time so a huge plus but they were excited again for more candy.

Our little family
Konnor was all tuckerd out at the end of the night, but then was full of energy again at home, oh well. Who else could be Batman and be able to pull of a paci.

What a Train

One of my friends invited me to a Halloween party on friday morning. They had this huge train in their backyard it was totally sweet, they also had a huge seasaw, a swing set and a tractor, so much fun things for all the kids to play on. We had yummy treats and friends to talk to for me and kids to play with for Keegan, Konnor stuck to the food area mostly. Thanks Mandy for the party invite.

Sunday Pumpkins

Sunday morning we got up and drove to Colleyville to go to church with her family and celebrate Colton's 7th Birthday. At church it was their primary progam so we wanted to see Colton in action. Then off to the house for a yummy Salmon dinner made by Calli and Joel. Next came Colton's bday family party. And we ended the evening with painting pumpkins, Keegan had a blast. But poor Konnor didnt get to participate in this activity, mom decided since the paint wasnt edible and baby safe that he should sit out this time. He was sooo sad. So while we were painting he was moving all the pumpkins he could around the house, from the fireplace to the ottoman to the toy chest to the kitchen were he found the mother load of pumpkins. To his surprise and dissapointment it defeated him, as you can see it was a bit too big for him.

We had a ton of fun hanging out all day! Thanks for having us over!

Lifetime Halloween Party Saturday 25th

Since I work at Lifetime gym now we went to their Halloween party. The boys had a lot of fun! They even went into the haunted house that big kids wouldn't go in or were coming out scared, seriously they have no fear. They loved the bounce house, as everyone knows Keegan is our little jumper and Konnor loved it despite the fact he couldn't stay on his feet. He hid from balloon making and face painting cause seriously who needs two tired boys fighting over them or rubbing paint everywhere.

Our Saturday Fun

This Saturday there was a grand opening to a new Toys Rus/ BabysRus store it was lots of fun. They had Spiderman, Carebear Funshine, Strawberry Shortcake, and some others we didnt get to see.

Keegan jumped out of the cart to go see spiderman but got a little weirded out you can say, his expression says it all.

He climbed out of the cart fast when I pointed out Funshine, he followed him all the way down the Isle before someone noticed him, it was soooo cute. He did better for this photo shot and wasnt afraid to touch him.

We also saw Strawberry Shortcake but he didnt care about her at all it was so funny how he chased some down but wouldnt give her the time of day. He had the balloons on his mind at that point. We were pretty lucky Konnor slept throughout the whole store which was great for us besides forgetting to get two balloons, man did they fight over that till it disappeared. He also got free stuff like stickers and tatoos of his favorite shows and a little book. Plus we picked up a costume for Konnor.

Did someone say Batmans in the house with Mr Incredible, they are a mean heroe fighting team. Hopefully they will some day join sides and fight together verses agains each other. But that might be to much to ask.

Then we headed out to gma and gpa's house and played all evening while Zane and I went and saw a Eagle Eye the movie, check it out the name is a link to their site, it was really good. The boys love going to their house they get all excited when we pull up front its so cute, they played hard till we got there to take them home. It was so funny after we changed them to their pj's we said it was time to go home to go to bed and this is what happend right after.

My dad called us to come to his room to show us that keegan had climbed on to his bed with the lights off and was pretending to be asleep, by the time I got back with the camera the were both on the bed acting asleep.

And of course the energy came back when we made them go outside, my parents neighboors have this pumpkin in their yard Keegan loved it we had a hard time getting him away.

Thanks again mom and dad for watching them.

Pumpkin Painting

So neither Zane nor I like to carve pumpkins so we painted ours this year. Earlier this day Keegan opened the Halloween box and found the pkg with paints and the tatoo so he obviously needed to do it right then. It took a lot of persuading for him to understand that we had to go buy the pumpkins first it was so cute. My favorite part was him holding the pkg and pointing to the scissors and he said "pair of scissors" so if any of you cant imagine him saying it im sorry because its a huge deal to us because of his speech issues. Then at the store he was flipping out cause he wanted to go back home to paint , he obviously thought we didnt really need pumpkins until he saw them. He then kept saying "punkin" seriously cute, two new words or phrases in one day thats big for us. Now to the fun pictures.

Konnors work of art (dont know why the pic is this direction it shows right on the computer) sorry, serioiusly he is 15 months and knows how to paint correctly with a brush.

Seriously Mom your not going to stop me from making a mess, yippy!

His finished piece of art

Keegan loves to paint but not the mess so much.

Playing together

They boys are finally playing together. Well at least for a few minutes before kon knocks everything over and laughs then keeg pushes. But still so cute. Keegan used to ignore him pretty much all day long so this is an improvement around here.

Zane's Bad Day

Tonight Zane got on his XBox to play online with a few of his friends and he made a sound thats a bit more dramatic than usual with his shooting games. I looked over and his head was on the table he had fallen victim to the Red Ring Of DEATH!!! This happens when the xbox has a fatal error and 3 blinking red lights. Seriously a very sad night, lets all have a moment of silence for Zane's XBOX it is a valued member of the family (to Zane anyway). He will have to wait an estimated 3 weeks before it will be back safely at home for him to give his undivided attention to once again.
Luckily thanks to me I convinced Zane to buy the Wii version of Lego Batman earlier this week. We can still play this together while he waits in morning.
