Been a little busy!

I keep thinking life will slow down enough that I can catch up on things I would like to get done. But then I just add more things to the list that need to be done. Which then adds more work for me to do. Amazing how that happens. The last few months have flown again, it always does. Brett and I were going to put in a new floor in our kitchen & halls this Winter, but because of Brett's accident he couldn't exactly help much. He did encourage the kids though to help and he did get on the ground with the help of pillows to cut a baseboard down. Thanks to my Brother Colt for helping me get it started... I am excited to tell you that the floor looks great, I did such a good job!

events in February

Feb. 5th, Kaeli got her tonsils out. The hospital staff didn't know who they were working on crippled Brett or Sweet Kaeli. She did great! and Dr. Bennion is the best he has taken out all of our kids tonsils. We grow the biggest ones here. Keaton is next his are actually worse than Kaeli's were but we are waiting until he is a little older. Of course Grandma Giles always comes through with a present for being such a good girl and we let her pick out a prize the night before she choose Rapunzel from Tangled.

Feb 14th, We had our Valentines dinner this year I got dinner from the chinese place in the mall we love their Honey chicken and small noodles, they have the best food. So we opted to have it on the floor so the kids set up blankets and pillows (it was a little hard for Brett to get on the floor but he made it) then we added candlelight and fun!

Feb. 21st Sunday morning (since we had all day our church is being remodeled so we get to go to the stake center and our time is from 2:30 to 5:30) I'm sure you all wish you got to go at that time! It had snowed so much that we couldn't resist to play out with the neighbors, sledding down the small hill, building a snowman and a snowball fight!

Feb. 22nd Brett turned 39, A Super Happy Birthday to him!!!
He officially has lived longer than his Father... I think about that I don't know what I would do without him. He was so young and I look at the ages of our kids and it is sad at all he missed. We never know what is around the corner or when our time is up, so live it to the fullest, do not procrastinate spending time with your family, Brett's family spent many weekends fishing, camping and just having fun as a family! We try and take vacations and small trips, camping and we would like to do more so that is a goal to stop cleaning and spend more time with these awesome kids. Next year will be the big 40!

March brought...

More and more and more SNOW!!! So sick of snow!

March 8th We lost my Grandfather. He died after many great years. He has left a huge legacy and We will all miss him. It is hard to see your grandparents get older and not be able to do all that they would like to do. It was so nice to see cousins we haven't seen in a while.

Connor got 3rd place in the Science Fair. After many hours of trial and error, we finally got something to power the Ferris wheel. He wanted lemons to power the toy but after having tons of lemons and voltage it wouldn't work... apparently we didn't have any current... so we ran to radio shack to see what we could find... Electromagnetic Power! It was cool it powered the Ferris wheel, the light, & a fan all at the same time. We learned a lot also.

I decided the Laundry room just wasn't working for me. The lockers I had were to little and they really needed doors to hide the CRAP! So I took them out and went to Home Depot and got some bead board, hooks and 1 x 4's. I also went to Bennett's paint and got a light blue paint. Which feels so much bigger and cleaner. Now the opportunity still exists for the kids to hang their stuff up, but I still find it on the floor, imagine that! But I like it better and that is all that matters!

Brett was finally able to bend his leg a little, the Dr. locked the brace in at 30 degrees which was big...Yeah after 3 months of a straight leg it was moving!!!! He had that lock in for 30 days and then he moved it to 90 degrees this last week. He is doing much much better. He also gave him exercises to work on. they are not going to have him go to physical therapy, he will need to just work on these things and we also need to find him a exercise bike.

Update on Brett

Yesterday Brett had a Dr's appt. to check out his incision. It has been crazy, his incision hasn't been healing on the outside in a few spots. So yesterdays appt. we found out they are finally looking closed. YEAH! We also had them x-ray his hand and saw that it looks like he had a small hair line fracture that was healing ok. I don't know how he could have even gotten up if he would have had a cast on it. But it is ok, just aches once in a while when he uses it to much. They also got him a Muscle contractor thing that works on his muscles. He has lost so much in his leg we are getting worried, he has to use that on his quad muscle and see if he can get it working a little before physical therapy starts. Which if everything still looks good in 2 weeks then he will start. I don't think I want to be there for that. I think it will be very painful;(
Sunday we had our Home teacher and the Elders Q. President come give him a priesthood blessing, he has perked up a little and seems to be feeling a ton better, the incision looks a lot better. They also helped Brett give me a Priesthood Blessing of comfort. I have been so overwhelmed and really needed it and I know that with the Lords help I can get through this ordeal, I have just had a lot weighing on me since he has been laid up I felt like I am doing it alone. Now I feel like I have help. I can feel the help of the spirit and I am more calm and collected. It is hard when you are the only one that can drive and get people places. I got Brett to try to drive Connor to his game on Saturday, by himself. He did ok, but someone has to help him get in and out of the car. So he is just not ready yet to do it on his own. I think once we find a car that he will fit in, it will be easier.
To make it all even better he also found out on the the day of his accident that he has a hyrnia on the right side, they didn't think it was caused by the accident, so now he will see a surgeon in 2 wks to see what we need to do, or how bad it is.

He has 5 classes left to graduate. 1 is Business Statistics and 1 Brief Calculus. The last 3 are the last business classes and luck has it each is a pre rec. to the other so he can only take 1 at a time? So he has taken the stats class twice at USU only to not pass, because he doesn't understand and USU teachers don't care to help you. So he registered at SLCC this semester to take the STATS class and once he passes that one he can take the calculus and one of the bus classes this summer. Then fall and Spring of next year he will have 1 class each semester and he should be able to graduate in the spring of 2012! Just a year before his Daughter graduates from High School. SO CRAZY! Anyway so we are finally seeing an end in sight. And we are going to have a huge party when this is all over with;)

Jr. Jazz and misc.

Keaton likes to take over Brett's recliner, anytime Brett gets up Keaton jumps right in and gets mad when you try to take him out.

We caught Keaton trying to walk down the hall dressed like this, he thought he was pretty cute. Especially when everyone laughs at him.

One night this month, we looked outside to see the most beautiful sky. It was all blue, the cloud just hung heavy all around. Looked like a big pillow.

Connor started Jr. Jazz Basketball games at the Logan Rec. Center he loves to play, this year he is on the team 76r's

I am not sure what this is all about? Something with the Tylenol

Alyssa's Birthday

Alyssa's Birthday

January 11th was Alyssa's Birthday. She turned 9. She was so excited for her presents.

Keaton was trying so badly to open her gifts, He was getting really upset and Alyssa was trying to be nice but getting frustrated that he wouldn't leave them alone. It was very funny!

Ashleigh made Alyssa some earrings for her birthday, she even sleeps in them and never takes them out. I think she really loved them!

She opted to eat at the Olive Garden for her birthday dinner, instead of having a birthday party with friends. I love watching people when the kids keep coming in to sit down and then to top it off I have a husband that can hardly move, and we have to have an extra chair for the leg. Just one me seat please? Such a sight!

We always end up having 2 parties, one Johnson side and one Giles side.
