~ 2nd to the Last Email from Elder Hansen~

Hello peoples!! Only one more email to go and dis guy is comin' HOME!!

I'll get right into this week.. So it started off pretty slow.. Last Tuesday, we went to a few not-so-progressing investigators and tried to find out their concerns and resolve them but it mostly just came down to social concerns which we have no jurisdiction over other than encouragement.. So it was kind of a discouraging day, because at the end of the day we had an appointment with the Palillo family and they ended up punting us.. or they werent at their house... so yeah that was that.. Then on another day (I think thursday) the Zone Leaders call and tell me that I had to get all of the progress records from all of my district mates and bring them to them.. And yeah.. that sounds a lot easier than it really is.. Basically I spent the entire day travelling from one area to the other tracking down missionaries to get their records then going all the way to Calamba (about 1hr on a jeep) to give them to the Zone Leaders.. That pretty much killed all of our appointments that day.. I think we made it to like one.. GRR.. That would happen in my last 3 weeks.. I felt like I had gone back to being Zone Leader in Lucena haha... Just running arrands.

Anyways.. We did make it to Janet and Edgar's house this week and when we got there we discovered that Sister Janet has been struggling with Asthma and had an attac Tuesday night so thats why we werent able to teach them. But yeah.. we ended up teaching them again about the plan of salvation because they had a TON of questions about it.. And this week I focused my study to help prepare to teach them but for some reason when I got to the lesson I had forgotten almost everything that I studied.. (NOTE: this was Thursday night after all of the arrand running)... I trhink it was cuz my head wasn't in the right place.. I was kinda mad at the ZLs for making me run all around town and waste our time getting little peices of paper.. So yeah, teaching was super hard and I thought the lesson was a complete failure until something happened that has never happened before to me haha.. Our investigator of just about 1 month jumps in and saves us.. Like She started teaching me and my companion about the Plan of salvation.. she referenced scriptures that she read in both the bible and the Book of Mormon and basically made me and my comp look like fools. haha.. needless to say me and my comp were floored and the spirit was so strong and I got this really strong prompting to start talking about baptism again.. so i brought it up and we were able to answer a lot of their nagging questions about baptism... but one negative thing is.. they werent able to make it to church this week.. we were sad but i think they have a legit excuse cus sister Janet has been sick...
Speaking of church... Brother Rafael was interviewed and found worthy to be baptized a member of the church on August 28, 2011. We are so happy and excited for him and he is excited as well to become a member. He is without a doubt an elect son of our Heavenly Father. I am so grateful that the Lord prepared Rafael and I so that he could be baptized! CONGRATS TO HIM! Oh and even better... He asked ME to baptize him! I am so excited! The service will be next sunday.
Also, for the past couple months now we have been working with a less active family, the Duque family.. I think I talked about Irish in some of my nakaraang emails. But we finally made some progress with the Father of the house.. He sat and listened to one of our lessons and agreed to hold a Family Home Evening next sunday night.. So i brought it up in PEC meeting and hopefully next week I'll have a report to you on their progress. We hope to get them back to church so little irish can be baptized...
hmm.. What else.. what else.. OH! I am loving life and partially hating the fact that I am going home so soon!.. THATS ALL FOR NOW FOLKS!!

~ Crazy Sunday & Time Is Flying~

Hey peoples!!I don"t have much time left today so, I am going to have to make this one quick! First.. my investigators! .. Brother Rafael is still on track for baptism on the 28th.. we went through the practice interview with him after church on Sunday and he did awesome! So this Sunday he will be interviewed and the following sunday will be his baptism!! Woot Woot!! we are so excited for him!

The Palillo family is still doing awesome! So we went to their house on Saturday to teach them the last part of Plan of Salvation.. So we teach the lesson and share about the ressurection and the spirit world and all that good stuff.. And then after we were finished sharing we opened the discussion up for questions. and HOLY COW they asked so many questions about the POS and remarkably we were able to answer them all with the scriptures.. The spirit was way strong and I was opening up to scriptures that I have never used in lessons before that werent highlighted or anything.. like it was another one of those intense experiences where the Lord just took over because My comp and I definately couldnt answer some of those questions. They were all about the end of the world and the second coming of christ.. But we got through the lesson and everyone was edified. It was awesome! And They finally made it to church this week, but things were quite out of order!

So first of all we were supposed to meet them at Jollibee by the church so we could show them where it was so we sacrificed going to PEC meeting to do it.. So we wait there for like 30 minutes and now were late for church so me and my comp text them and they text back saying they are caught in traffic. So we get to the church and the bishop is in the entry way of the church greeting people and then he sees us and is like "Too bad you couldnt make it to PEC today".. like he was mad at us.. then we try to explain that we were waiting for family to come to church with but he just goes upstairs to priesthood class and doesn't listen.. so that wasn't very good.. then we get to the second hour of church and all of these people rush up to my comp and I with demands and requests and all this stuff... It was a good thing that they wanted to be active in missionary work, but there is a time and a place that you do it.. Basically, we weren't able to show The Palillios around the church because of it and they just sat in the classroom with no friends haha.. then I finally make my way to the classroom and the teacher is absent so I had to teach the class with no preparation.. It went well, but we ended up walking in late to sacrament meeting because my watch was 5 minutes slower than the one in the chapel.. needless to say.. bishop was not happy and the Palillo's first day at church wasn't the best.. But hey. what can you do.. WHEW.. now that that is off my chest on to other things..
AHH!! I have 3 minutes left pala.. All of our other investigators are doing ok.. Rafael and the Palillos are really the only ones with a chance to be baptized before I go home. But I am so sorry I took so long on that story.. I have to go! I love all of you!

~The Power Of The Holy Ghost~

Hey all you wonderful people out there!
Just want to start off this email by wishing my beloved Grandpa Davis a speedy and full recovery! I am and have been praying for you since your sergery! Get well soon grandpa! I can't wait to see you all again!

So yeah this week for Pday we went to a really fancy shmancy part of town where all of the rich people live.. called Nuvali. It has a Krispy Kreme and YellowCab pizza and all kinds of really nice expensive places.. well for filipinos.. anyways we ended up going to a mexican food joint and ordering REAL mexican food.. i got a steak burrito and a chocolate milkshake. It was DELICIOUS! then there are all these huge fishponds there and you can buy fish feed and when you feed the fish they go CRAAAZZZYY!!!! LIke they all start jumping on top of eachother and i kid you not there are like thousands of them.. they are those colorful chinese Carp so it was kinda cool haha..

Now.. Lets start with the good news of this week! So the baptism for Brother Rafiel is FOR SURE!! We taught him about the Word of Wisdom, Tithing, and the Law of Chastity. He does not have a problem with any of that so there is nothing really holding us back from getting him baptized now. We have one more lesson with him which is a practice interview then the real interview! He is such a nice and humble guy and he is really excited to be baptized! It was great!

And also yesterday I finally made it out to the pinaka-dulo of my area.. like the outskirts.. it was super far and close to Tagaytay, which means it was up in the mountians. We went there to go visit an elderly member of our ward who isn't able to come to church because of her age.. we brought her the sacrament and shared a message with her. Also, we went tracting out there for a little bit but to ZERO avail.. the people there are very prideful and think they own the world because they live close to tagaytay.. but we did meet a white guy from australia.. my comp was so excited to talk to someone from his country but we still weren't allowed in his house.. it was very beautiful .. i shouldve brought my camera! Dang it!

And about tatay caezar.. uh.. we went back there and his wife was like "Elders Elders! Hurry come help me".. she was frantic and crying.. apparantly they were in an argument and they wanted us to calm things down.. i had a bad feeling about it but decided to see what I could do.. but when we approached the door of their little hut, made basically out of trash, a drunk brother cazear threatened to kill us if we came any closer.. he then started to blame me inparticular for a lot of his problems.. Some of the things he said were really hurtful.. I truly saw the adverse effects of alchohol working in him.. it was really sad.. Idk if I want to go back there after that.. My comp and I will pray about it this week.

We also got back to the Palillo family this week.. or sister Janet and her husband Edgar.. and OMG the spirit was so strong while we were teaching them.. I assigned them a chapter to read out of the book of mormon.. it was second Nephi 2. and she had a full page written about the things she had learned.. She shared them with us then was confused about some of the feelings she had when she was praying.. she said that she all of a sudden started crying and felt very strange.. so right then we switched the lesson from about the plan of salvation to recognizing the spirit.. And mom i related to them the story you sent me about that day when you were in the car with kell and the spirit prompted you to make the decision not to turn potentially saving your lives.. the spirit was way strong.. then we talked a little bit about repentence and its importantce.. (geez i cant spell anymore).. it was way awesome!! But the bad news is that they didnt come to church AGAIn... it was kinda discouraging.. we hope they come this week.
And yeah.. thats pretty much all that happened this week worth noting.. haha.. I love you all and I must go wash my clothes.. Ingat kayo!!

Teaching The Rain ~ Old Habits Die Hard~ New Baptism Soon

Hello peeps!!

This week was super Duper UPER rainy... Like as in it has rained ALL Day every day.. nakakalunkot naman! .. It is kinda hard to work in the rain too.. haha.. The funny thing is my companion seems to love it.. Every time there is a flooded area he'll go running to it and start yelling and go splashing around haha.. I have some pictures that I'll upload to my picasa so you can check those out..
but other than that we have been seeing some great progress in some of our investigators and some backpedaling as well.. Lets start with the bad and get it over with..
So tatay caezar was just two weeks away from getting baptized but he relapsed on his drinking after almost 2 months of sobriety. So we show up at church and he wasnt there so we asked his wife and she reluctantly said that he was at home drunk again.. I was so deeply saddened.. It is so hard to see someone you pray for, that you love go back on his commitment. We had to extend his baptismal date, so I probably wont be able to see him be baptized before I go home.
Ok now for the good news :).... So you all know brother Rafael (not the ninja turtle), our investigator.. This week he came to church and we ROCKED his SOX with a baptismal date.. It will be on august 28.. We talked about baptism in 3 nephi 11 and the spirit was really strong.. It was a textbook baptismal goal date lesson and it went off without a hitch.. Brother Rafael has made some good headway in the Book of Mormon and has a testimony and desire to be baptized for the remission of his sins. We are so excited for him! ( i hope im not speaking too soon).... oh well.. FAITH!!
Now for that 'boarder lady' I talked about in my last email.. Oh and she has a name.. Its Janet ^__^.. She is way awesome, we went to her for a second time and she had a TON of questions about the book of mormon and seems to be accepting everything. The spirit is unusally strong with this one.. Kinda like Anakin Skywalker.. Lets just hope she doesnt end up as a syth lord.. AKA Iglesia! haha... JOKE.. I respect all religions.. cough...
So yeah, thats the balita about our investigators.. We also had a very fancy shmancy P-day today.. We BBQed pork.. even though it was drizzling the whole time.. haha it added to the flavor.. Then we played a little basket ball and had a very merry time. Anyways.. I have to upload pics now! I luv you all LONG TIME..

"Golden Goosebumps" ~ Time Is Ticking

Hey people..

Another week has passed and I am that much closer to my release date!! Ahh it is coming so fast!! Geez!

Ok, first things first.. My companion Elder Nalesoni isn't transferred so that means that he is my last companion for sure and he will be "Killing" me as we say in the mission.. When you come in the mission you are born and then your last companion always "kills" you.. it is just the Lingo here.. I am way excited to continue to work with Elder Nalesoni! He helps me grow and we are going to ROCK this transfer!!

So yeah, this week we did a lot of RCLA work.. or just visiting members. It was such an awesome experience because we got like 5 new referrals through it.. And one of them, Janet, I think will be baptized! So, we get to this members house and this member owns a few apartments and she calls over one of her boarders to listen.. We introduce ourselves and tell her a little about what we do. We found out that this was her first time ever being acuainted with missionaries or ever hearing of our church.. So we kind of had a fresh slate to work with.. which is GOOD! So, we started by getting a little bit of her religious background.. and it was the same old - same old.. catholic, doesn't go to church, but has a strong conviction there is a God. So, that was good too. We then began by sharing a little about prophets and the Life of Jesus Christ.. then we got to the most important part of the lesson.. The Restoration.. I gave the mic to my companion Elder Nalesoni, and he ROCKED it! His Tagalog isn't the best but you can really feel his sincerity when he teaches. I had to help him with a few parts but he got through it and then he gave the time to me and I clarified and asked some follow up questions.. Then I took out a Book of Mormon and offered it to her which she gladly accepted. Then we read out of Moroni and the spirit was so strong. Janet stopped us and asked why she felt the way she did.. then she showed us her arms and they had goosebumps all over them. I explained a little about the spirit and we left the message at that.. Sister Janet without a doubt felt the spirit confirming our message to her and now she has such a desire to keep investigating and reading the Book of Mormon.. It was an awesome experience! Probably the best lesson of the week..

Also we were supposed to give rafiel a Baptismal date but he went home to his province to see his girlfriend off on her mission. He went to church sa kanila (in their place?).. so next sunday we'll give him one.

As far as our other investigators we feel as if we have hit a plateau with them. Not a good place to be with them because were at the point where they need to put fourth the effort but none of them are really doing it.. So yeah.. were at a crossraods with them.

I am feeling pretty excited about going home..... uhhh....

Anyways, I had an interview and FINALLY got to meet President and Sister Peterson! They are so cool! And they remind me so much of you guys (Mom and dad).. haha they were talking with me all about arizona and i told them that lindsey had met Clint before and sister peterson was pretty excited about that.. Anyways, I had a great interview with President Peterson, he is truly a great man and a spiritual giant. I can really see his fire about missionary work and it really inspires me.. Apparantly he trusts me enough to stay here with Elder Nalesoni for another transfer so I think we got off on the right foot. I am just sad that I wont be with him for much longer.. Oh well.

Keeping "Cool" While Teaching about the Book Of Mormon

Hey Peoples!!!

This week has been great! We accomplished much and learned even more. This week we did an evaluation of all of our investigators and we are kind of weeding out the ones who arent progressing and trying to fill their spots with fresh.. new investigators.. So Elder Nalesoni and I got out and kncocked doors... and A LOT OF THEM.. But not very many of them accepted us in. maybe like 3 of them and they werent interested in our message. BLAhh... BUT! We went back to that lady who asked us for a blessing last week and yeah.... She ended up to be kinda crazy... Like I really think she has issues that neither Elder Nalesoni or myself are qualified to fix.. Story time!! So we show up at her door and start yelling "Tao po!" like 30 times.. And every time we would say it she would say "just a second...".. then we would wait for like 3 minutes and we would hear a lot of rustling around a movement in her little house but she would never come out.. So we were like what the heck?? and just kept trying to get her to come out cuz she was obvioiusly home haha.. so after like 20 minutes of trying we finally got her out of the house.. and out she comes, carrying a statue of
"Santo Niño" and she was like "LOOK! I am catholic.. Cant you see!!!".. And we were like "Yeah... wow, thats a nice statue you got there".. trying not to laugh.. It was really bizzare.. And then she was like "well maybe you can help me with something..."... then she went on to tell me her extensive medical history and about how her bowels don't work properly and started asking me for advice and about her medications and gahh... It just went on for like another 15 minutes and then I basically just said that we had to go and that was the end of it.. It was really akward the things she was telling me.. I am not comfortable repeating them on the world wide web haha.. But just know na may tama siya.. haha we wont be going back there.

In other news, Brother Rafiel is SO AWESOME! I think I told you about him the other week.. He was the one who just showed up at church and told us that he wanted to know about our religion because his girlfriend is going on a mission on july 28.. Anyways well he came to church for the 3rd straight week in a row and we taught him about the book of mormon and he is SO interested.. But the only thing is we can only teach him on sundays right after church. So it may be a while before his baptism. He is starting the Book of Mormon at the beginning and he told us that he would read 10 chapters this week and write down all of his questions.... I am a little intimidated haha.. You better believe that I will be studying 1nephi chapters 1-10 this week haha.. But yeah he is a quiet guy but realy has a strong desire to join the church. Next week we are gonna rock him with a Baptismal Date!! Woot!! Way exciting!!

This week the 2nd councellor in the bishopric gave us some AWESOME referrals! They are his employees at his airconditioning repair business.. and it is obvious that he has been fellowshipping and preparing them long before we even met them. We showed up in his office and they were there ready with Book of Mormons to listen to the lesson.. The discussion was great! And Elder Nalesoni taught the Joseph Smith story in tagalog all by himself.. I was so proud of my little trainee.. (tear).. or should I say HUGE trainee haha.. It was an awesome experience! I will keep you posted on them.
I am really feeling the fire this week and cant wait to get back to work tomorrow!! Oh and tomorrow will be my first zone interview with our new mission president, President Peterson from Gilbert.. SO wish me luck!! Love you all! kk bye

Happy 21st Birthday Elder Hansen~ Let Your Light So Shine

Hello there peoples...

First things first.. If you haven't wished me a Happy Birthday, you should do so RIGHT AWAY.. Because as I type this I am now TWENTY ONE years old.. Thats right! I am legal baby! haha.. Not much in the ol' planner for things to do because it is pooring rain outside but it's all good.. It's still my birthday and it can rain if it wants to haha..

As for this week we had some great experiences working.. I have officially met all of our progressing investigators and have found a few perspectives.. I'll get right into it..

So, the other day me and Nalesoni were walking home past the Catholic church and some lady comes running up to us (thinking we were priests) and started begging for a blessing. She then went on to tell us that she knew we were of God because of our 'light" or countenance.. So. I started just talking to her asking her what she was up to and why she was by the church. She went on to tell us that she has family in the hospital and she didn't feel worthy to go ask the Father for help and she had no money to donate, then she saw us walking by and was wondering if we could say a prayer for her.. BOOM.. Teaching Opportunity. I then busted out the Book of Mormon, gave a short message about prayer and how it acutally is a commandement that we pray and that NO ONE is unworthy to pray. I then taught her the steps of prayer and before we left we had her say a prayer for her cousin(?) I think in the hospital.. We got her address and are going to follow up on our appointment with her this week. Pretty cool experience!

Next, we have been teaching the Gonzales family and the family ni Jesus (Hay-Soos).. I don't know their last names, I didn't bring my planner. They are way awesome! And all coming to church! We have quite a crowd in our Gospel Essentials class! Also, the teacher is way good in there too! He actually prepares his lessons and does a great job fellowshipping our investigators. Right now, I am just getting to know them all and we are reviewing the things that Elder Remollio taught them before I got there... My comp is still really new and he doesn't understand the tagalog so he doesn't know where they are in the lessons.. and their teaching records haven't been updated so we kinda had to start over.. GRR.. but I am having a great time teaching them and getting to know them all.

And also, we have been teaching Brother Cezar, one of the most faithful people I have met when it comes to going to church and studying the scriptures... BUT he drinks and smokes. He really is trying so hard to quit. Since the first time I met him, I commited him to stop cold turkey with the drinking.. And he is doing it! he hasn't drank in almost 3 weeks.. But he is still having a hard time with smoking.. he is gradually weening himself off of them.. He has a goal to go to the temple and be sealed with his family (who are all members).. and I would love to see him enter the waters of baptism before I leave. I'll keep you updated..

Um... what else.. what else.. oh yeah, ITS MY BIRTHDAY!!!!!

Anyways, I am loving my area, the members here are SO, SO nice and I am helping my comp become better every day.. ( I hope) haha.. I love you all.. and I am going to go do Birthday things,.. I only have 7 mins left to email Prez! ahh..

Santa Rosa New Area ~ District Leader & Trainer ~ Not So Friendly Bug

Hello Family, Friends and Enemies... (hopefully not). anyways.. love your enemies parin.


This week was yet another week of little to no progress in getting to know the people.. Or the area.. because this week we had an additional companion in our companionship.. This companion was much smaller than your average human being, yet could level a 6 foot 300 pound tongan to the floor for almost an entire week.. Yes.. It is waht you think.... the dreaded AMOEBA!! AHH... Ok.. So my comp is like way mahilig at drinking water and he drinks, no joke, like 6 liters a day.. it's ridiculous.. And apparantly it has been too long since our filter has been switched cuz last monday my companion started complaining of stomach pains.. But we just shrugged them off as nothing and went about our normal activities.. Then on Tuesday, we worked all day and I met some AWESOME investigators and members. We have some progresssing and some not so progressing. But one family that we are teaching is way awesome! The garcia family. They all have baptismal goal dates and all want to go to church and stuff.. not to mention they actually have money so they can go to church haha.. its way cool.. And there are some way nice super strong members in our ward. We went to their house to go eat and it reminded me of back in the states cuz they all have like normal houses and stuff and carpet and they vaccume and stuff... its so weird haha.. It was great! So that was my tuesday...
Then I woke up on Wednesday morning to a text coming from the AP's telling me that I was District Leader and that I had to prepare a workshop for district meeting which was in like 3 hours... I was way suprised cuz nobody told me that I was district leader until the day of district meeting.. let alone did i know where the chapel was.. Elder Nalesoni is still kinda oblivious to what is going on so he didnt really know either.. it was fun trying to find the church in a huge city that i have never been in.. But with a little help from the people on the street and the spirit.. we made it to district meeting on time and I was able to give a workshop. Then after district meeting my companion started really complaining about his stomach and that he needed to go home and rest.. but me.. being me.. Didnt want to waste our appointments that afternoon so i insisted that we work and just say a prayer to help him get through the day... I guess the lord helped us get through about half the day.. cuz around 5pm my comp was cussin up a storm and basically told me that he was gonna kill me if we didnt go home right then.. I gave permission and we went back.. after that he went straight to the bathroom and then straight to bed.. He didnt wake up till about thursday 2pm.. and when he woke up he was not a happy camper.. He was in a ton of pain, So we called Sister Anderson and she said that it was just a "Tummy Bug"... and that it should go away in 24 hours.. Well, we just hung around the house and I kept my comp on gatorade until the 24 hour mark hit.., And the pain was even worse. SO we decided to tell our Nanay.. AKA our landlord who is SO awesome! She sakayed us up in her car and we went straight to the hospital and the doctor put him on some antibiotics.. So, I basically just sat at the house and fed my comp and made sure he was ok.. We didn't even go to church this week.. It really was not good.. And not a very good start to my last area but it's all good.. Today has been the first day that my comp has been out of the house in a week.. I really hope that he is up to working tomorrow So we can really get the ball rolling here. ANyways... Not much news.. Just sick sick sick..

Elder Hansen's last Area ~ Sta Rosa Laguna

Hello peoples!!

So this week was another crazy one to say the least.... I don't even know where to start... I guess I'll start at the end..
So I was transferred last friday from Lucena City, to Sta Rosa Laguna... And wow, it is weird here.. Kind of a breath of fresh air in the fact that we have a burger king in our area but then its a huge gasp of car exhaust because there are SO MANY friggin cars and the smoke is killing me.. I thought lucena was bad.. but holy mackroll.. this area is way way worse.. It is a huge city with huge buildings and like 10 malls and everything is SO expensive.. We spend so much money on transportation here.. and the traffic is a nightmare.. I can even take a taxi if i want to where i am going haha.. its so werid.. But the members here are way cool too :).. I went to church on sunday and they were so welcoming to me and just full of comments about my tagalog.. It was weird.. Seriously all of them thought I was filipino until i showed them that i could speak english.. Not to boast or anything but it feels really good knowing that you have mastered a language enough to trick the native speakers into thinking your from that place... Speaking of being fluent in a language, we went to church and met the most peculiar couple, i dont know their names but i started up a conversation with them and to my astonishment they both spoke perfect english and they had super thick british accents... I couldnt help myself from laughing.. It is so strange seeing filipinos speak perfect english, let alone with a british accent.. It was way funny.. ANyways so yeah.. my area is way sweet.. the members are way cool and I am excited to DIE here.. haha thats missionary lingo for GO HOME..
now on to my COMPANION.. His name is elder nalesoni and he is from sydney austrailia but born in new zeland. he is a HUGE tongan and he is way nice.. He has been in the mission for about 3 months so far and isnt all that good at tagalog because everyone in this area can speak english pretty well and he just speaks english most of the time.. I will do my best to make sure learns it haha... So far I havent got to know him all that well cuz weve only been together for about 4 days but so far I really like him as a companion.
Anyways, this week for me was mostly spent saying goodbye to all of the members and investigators I have grown to love in Lucena and saying Hello to all of the new faces here in Santa Rosa... I really don't have much more to say other than.. I am adjusting and loving my new area and companion.. Sorry this is so short.. Next week I will have news about all of the new ivestigators we will meet :)..

SO much happened this week, but then again it feels like nothing did. We got such a small number of lessons and barely got to do any missionary work... Arghhh...
Anyways I'll start out with a couple announcements.
FIRST: I am transferred!!! Sa wakas!! Wee... after 6 long months in Lucena I will finally be transferred to a different area. So next time I email you I will be somewhere else with someone new. Needless to say I am having mixed feelings. Its the same way with every transfer.. I am excited to leave but I feel like there is so much more that needs to be done. Oh well... I'll just leave it up to the person who switches out for me.
SECOND: We got Another baptism XD... yay! Brother Eroberto, the deaf guy was finally baptized after almost 3 months of investigating the church.. It was so awesome! I got the opportunity to baptize him. If you've been following my previous emails you already know his story and about how he was a pastor for a deaf congregation in Manila, so i wont bore you with telling you that again.. But something cool happened when he was bearing his testimony.. He basically told his story again about how he has been searching for the truth since he was a kid and he has listened to countless churches but never got baptized until he started his own little congregation. He then told us about how when we shared the story of the restoration he felt in his heart it was true.. and about the book of mormon and its truthfulness.. I am so glad now that I took those 2 years of Sign Language in highschool so i was able to understand what he was signing. It was so awesome and he is definately one of my strongest converts.
THIRD: This week we had Zone Conference. It was such a spiritual refresher.. Going to Zone Con I had the complete wrong attitude cuz Prez Anderson has been kinda stressed lately and on all the Zone Leaders backs about things so I thought when he saw me I was just going to get chastized for some reason or another.. But when i got to the chapel the spirit was so strong and gumaan ang pakiramdam ko.. (I felt lighter??.. Idk in english)... basta, everything felt better and all the bad feelings went away. After that we were all spiritually fed. And at the conference President and Sister Anderson showed us a picture of the new mission president.. And they actually look familiar.. I think I may have seen them before but I'm not sure.. They are from Gilbert and I am so excited to meet them on July 1.
FOURTH: After Zone conference we went diretso to the mission home for ZLC yet again.. And let me just say, I was SOO TIRED!! I woke up at 4am that day to make it to zone conference on time and then after a whole day of ZOne con we had to go straight to the mission home for ZLC. Luckily when we got there we were able to relax.. We had dinner at the mission home and then just hung out and watched a movie at the mission home. The movie we watched was "The Last Air Bender"... I didnt see any of it cuz as soon as it started I fell right asleep and then woke up in the middle of the movie and went upstairs and slept the rest of the day until the next morning.. haha.. When we woke up we made the PSPM Training plan and then headed back to Lucena.. (3 hour bus ride)..
Then this friday I got the opportunity to go to Marinduque Island and see the sights there.. It was awesome! One of the ZL's was going home on duke (marinduque) so I was able to go with Elder Kitzmiller to deliver a very important letter to one of the branch presidents.. I got to spent 24 hours driving around the entire island and visiting the missionaries and working with them over there. It was a treat to say the least! By far the most beautiful place I have been in the philippines. I really hope I get transferred there. It was amazing.. I'll just upload the pictures and let them do the talking.
Like I said.. this week a lot happened.. But it feels like I didnt really accomplish much cuz I didnt work a full day this week haha.. At least we got a baptism :)....
