Snow Days

We took advantage of the school cancellations and hit the donut shop

and played in the bounce house

and tried out his boots

and played with ponies
The second snow was a little less frigid, so the kids got to go out and play in it some...
and catch some snowflakes

Love my sweet little snowbunnies

Pancakes with Pops

Dad and Papa joined Cade for breakfast at school this morning.  Unfortunately, Grandad was out of the country (literally...lol!) so he was unable to attend.  Maybe next year:-)

January

We got off to a good start in 2011 with sleepovers, playtime, movies, games...
we could hardly wait to get back in our routine again!

Then, after the first week of school, it all went down-hill from there.  We were ALL sick...

sick

still sick

more sick

sick, again

and again

did I mention we were sick?

We found out that Cade had mono, which helped explain why he couldn't seem to stay well...he missed 8 days of school in January.  Holy cow!  And the little kids kept the pace with stomach bugs, ear infections, and whatever else they could seem to contract!  Ugh!

Oh, and to top it off, Matt has gall bladder surgery schedule for Feb. 3rd because...well why wouldn't we need one more doctor bill?!  ha!

another "first"

We had a little excitement at the gym this afternoon.  Caleb fell in the parking lot on our way inside and split his forehead open.  After a whole lot of blood, towels, screaming, and moderate hysteria, a very kind gym patron offered to help us out.  He said he had a 'kit' in his car to clean up his cut.  He happened to be a plastic surgeon.  And he provided his services in the back office of the gym.  He worked very quickly and the entire ordeal was over in less than 30 minutes!  Without stepping foot into an emergency room...that ROCKS!

day 1

day 3

day 7
We are to so thankful for the kindness of a complete stranger...you made our day, Dr. Schmid!!
And, on a side note, it's not at all a surprise that Wild Thing was our first child to get sutured up.  Love that crazy kid!
