empathy
Along with so many, we’ve been hit with the flu – among other things.
This visit was Paige’s turn. Gabriel has been there before.

watch me now
This took place a couple weeks ago. Most of my family has seen it via Facebook, but I think it’s so much fun I wanted to include it here, too.
It’s even better if you can make the picture bigger. [Go to http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ui8Fuqg5Sx8]
He is clearly:
* one to enjoy the spotlight.
* a better dancer than both his mother and father combined.
* oblivious to the fact that he shouldn’t be in the middle of the court.
* familiar with MJ.
I was/am:
* amused and delighted.
* impressed by his moves and ability to stay on beat.
* happy for a tolerant staff who didn’t seem to mind the boy taking over the halftime show.
* grateful for the crowd’s enthusiastic response. He received about a dozen high fives and “good job”s afterwards.
I could watch this a thousand times.

never say never
I’ve held strong for 15 years of marriage – no dogs. [Okay, there was a very brief stint when Taylor was just a baby that we got a Cocker Spaniel. She had recurring ticks which only strengthened my resolve not to have animals in my home. ] I don’t hate them, I just don’t desire to have one either.
When Gabriel was a baby, we told the kids that when he was older – maybe 3 years old – we’d consider a dog.
Wow! Those 3 years flew by and then some!
I held strong though.
This year Paige has made her love for dogs known. All the kids love dogs and have mentioned wanting one. But Paige, she’s a die hard. She’s the only one I know that can merely see a leash and exclaim, “Awwww!” In that pitchy way usually reserved for babies.
Anyway, long story short, the girl wore me down.
Meet Ivy. The newest member of the Cederstrom clan. Merry Christmas!
[oh yes. she’s wearing a diaper. the little darling came to us in heat.]
